Make sure you reference it as non-lethal, not soft kill. This is a good idea, as most weapons can have a non-lethal round fire from them without modification, esp shotguns, m203, etc.

Happened to me on my own server. Just remind yourself that it is an alpha. Shit happens when you're testing a game, probably best that you began your journey recollecting your stuff.

I think this is a horrible idea. Making ammo rare, esp for top tier weapons, will make people better appreciate and spend more time counting their rounds, rather than sitting on a hill sniping noobs with a .50 cal. If you don't want to lose ammo, use a pistol or an axe, save the big guns for situations that count.

I was running through the woods (no clue about locations at the time) with a new found friend when a man ran out of the woods being chased by zombies. He proceeded to hack up my friend (I was unarmed and actually never had a weapon up to this point). After he was done with his murderous rampage I quickly grabbed my friends axe from his corpse and head-shot him and the remaining zombies. After it was all done there was nothing but the sound of flies and me all alone, no clue where I was.

I like the idea of this. On foot patrols in Iraq we would commonly use a 1-point sling for our rifles and a 3-point sling for our shotguns (on our back) it was pretty easy to swap between the two when needed (mostly shotguns where used for breaching as it is considered a defensive weapon). I think the ability to switch between a primary weapon and a melee weapon would be kinda cool, such as the axe or crowbar. For those silent kills.

This is not true. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps infantry and we always kept our iron sights, ACOGs, PAQ-4s, and PAS-13's with us in case we needed to swap them out. You can mark your rifles railing system for just this purpose. Zeroing an optic doesn't require you to shoot it. Laser bore sighting and alignment is easy to do with any modern weapon. Besides in a war time environment (I deployed to Iraq twice) you commonly remove your optics to clean them and your weapon. I +1 this idea, if it is even at all possible. Versatility and the ability to adapt on the fly in combat saves lives.

Zombies are people ultimately reverted to their primitive state. Possessing the ability to use simple tools or weapons would not/should not be part of their being. IMO.

I see quite a few problems with this. The biggest one I see is, say a group of bandits attack you. One of them just got the game and hasn't got his first kill yet. What do you do? 'I don't want to be labelled a bandit forever, so I'll just kill all of them except for this one'. No it doesn't work that way. People shouldn't be segragated due to choices they may or may not have been forced to make. There are many situations in which people are required to do things they wouldn't on a normal basis and they may not be proud of those choices but they had to do what they needed to, to survive. A bandit isn't going to make himself stand out. Nor should he be forced too. I completely agree with you in that it has become a shoot on sight policy, no exceptions. At least it has for me, after about my 15th time of being murdered. But this is all just my opinion.

I did a search before hand and also skimmed through the existing topics, so if this is a repost, I apologize. I think it would be a good idea to introduce hand to hand, but hear me out. I think engaging a zombie with your fist is absolutely futile, BUT I would like to see the ability to maybe push or hit something to stun or stop it momentarily. For example, a new character starts with the basic gear. Said player sneaks around and sees another player with weapon. Player hits other player by surprise and knocks him unconscious and is able to loot his/her bag while they are unconscious. Another example. New player or unarmed player is walking into, say, a gas station to find an axe or something. Zombie sees him, player doesnt want to run so player shoves or hits zombie. Zombie falls over for a moment, player is able to a. Get a head start on running from zombie b. grab axe or other weapon nearby to defend themselves. Any thoughts?

I agree with this which is why it would mostly be to give yourself a fighting chance, of some sort.

I ran into another good reason to introduce this, over the weekend. I aggro'd a zombie while unarmed and climbed a ladder. It would be nice if I had the ability hit or knock him off to protect myself while he follows me.

No, it is visible. I made the mistake of not reading and picking one of these up hastily. After which my backpack disappeared..... Imagine my disappointment... Though it is low profile, and adds a bit of camo to your back.

If this ever happened, everyone would sprint to the NW Airfield to get gear and then leave the server for PVP elsewhere...

I would like to see implemented a system where if you are killed by zombies your body would get up after a set time (30 mins or so) and it walks around with all your gear. So that way, someone could kill the zombie and get some decent drops, provided you had anything when you died.

You DO have to do something to heal by their suggestions. They're stating that you need to keep yourself hydrated and satiated in order to recieve the bonus regeneration.

Unfortunatley, this I know nothing about.

My problem with this is I only gave a few scenarios, but say one guy with a gun approaches a group of unarmed people. Those unarmed people should be able to over power the one guy somehow and defend themselves.
