  1. This is a great idea. I'm tired of coming home from work and having to play in the dark. But I get the feeling that the European servers that run Chernarus during the day when it's night in the server's location, are actually just de-synced and not doing it intentionally. For example, during first couple of days the Swedish servers were running, some of them appeared to be about 12 hours behind; today, though, this seems to have been 'fixed'. I hope I'm wrong though - I much preferred it the way it was.

    !!!!Main server does not save..!!!

Damn it, there's little point in logging on then.
  3. This is very useful, thank you!

    About Zombie Numbers

My God, CalUKGR , you don't know how wrong you are! I had my best 'lone wolf' session of Day Z last night! Firstly, when collecting supplies from villages, ALWAYS go prone. The zombies will not aggress you until they more-or-less bump into you. It's really very easy navigating around them when you're prone. Secondly, if you're a homicidal 'lone wolf', little has changed - this play style is completely viable. I picked off five players last night on the Swedish servers around Elektro, and I never once got any zombie aggro - this was with the noisy Lee Enfield, I should add. Stay out of the town, employ the use of cover and change your firing position often. Always have a safe-house nearby to run to if you do get zombie aggro. Also, I could be wrong about this, but I think shooting in wooded areas muffles gunfire. I shot a player in the woods with my Enfield only 100m (quite possibly less!) from zombies, and they didn't hear a thing. It was a odd - I expected to get swarmed, but didn't. So far I love the changes. Yes, banditry and solo-play is a bit harder, but it's still satisfying.

    UK3 Server Password?!

Don't bother, it's just some guy playing with his mates and hoarding all the loot so they can go onto other servers and 'pwn n00bs' or some such malarkey.
  6. Playing solo is still viable. You have to quiet though, sneaking in and out of settlements without firing a shot. If you're a mischief maker, wait outside a village until a group goes in to clear it, then, as they they aggressing the zombies, strike!

So, my opinion, anyone else agree?

No, I disagree - what you're asking for is a different game. We need the zombies AND the PvP aspect. The problem right now is not enough zombies! We need many, many more zombies - back to the 1000+ in the previous patches. Ideally the game should rarely drop below the 1000 level and certainly never to the pathetic 100 - 200 level we're seeing at the moment.

    Passworded servers?

    It's the latter.

Don't listen to the casual gamers

The name-tags are what really really bother me. If I see name-tags I disconnect immediately. I wish we check stuff like this before we join servers. Seriously, name-tags that appear when you wave your cursor over a (more or less invisible) person 100's of meters away in a bush? I can't get over how awful this is. Who on earth actually wants this? How about aim-assists? And flat bullet trajectory? And no recoil? And a 'press 'x' to initiate third-person bullet-cam kill feature'? Incidentally, I feel it's the American servers which are the worst offenders. I haven't noticed any loltags on the Euro servers.

    hackers? or bug? [VIDEO]

Heh, I had it to. Loads of us waiting to join the game all spawned in 'fuck-up forest' (as people are terming it) as birds. Well at least it was an amusing moment in an otherwise boring couple of hours spent trying to get onto a server...

Require Servers to list GMT time in name

I would like to see this change, but then I'm one of those Leechman would abhor: If I want to play Day Z in the evening and it happens to be dark in-game, I'll migrate to US servers to chase the light. My friends do the same. And for those unfamiliar with Chernarus, playing in day is the only sensible way to learn the game. To be quite honest, even after becoming familiar with the map, I can't see me ever changing my ways. I like playing in the day, and, though I don't mind the dawn and dusk, I can't see me playing in the inky black for hours on end - ever.

    Starting items

I would be in favor of reducing starting weapons and medical equipment (remove two clips of Makarov ammo, one morphine syringe, one bandage and one box of pain killers) and in return increasing the survival kit to include matches and knife. It seems more in keeping with what you would really take with you if you found yourself in such a situation: few people would have access to proper medical supplies, but most would bring along a knife and fire-starting equipment.

Roaming zombies - Is it possible?

I think the majority of zombies should remain near settlements, but having some chance of meeting them in woods might increase the tension a little. I'm not sure if we need it though! The woods are a good place to recuperate, and, as it is, you're never entirely safe even there - other players are always a possible threat. If we are going to add something to the woods, it might be better to add a new type of creature - zombie wildlife of some sort.
