Cheater problem is getting bigger!
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to yamiks's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm always astounded by the audacity with which you guys (yes, I know you're a cheater) justify your actions - you're so delusional it's pathetic. I can't wait to see this mod die, just so you can't get your kicks. -
Cheater problem is getting bigger!
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to yamiks's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, cheating is rampant and it seems like it's a problem that cannot be solved. Hopefully the stand alone will fix this. If, like me, you can't tolerate it, then you're just going to have to stop playing and wait for the stand alone, sadly. -
[Experiment POLL] % of people with a .50 cal sniper. Lets find out.
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to 97ADU Doug's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, this is a disappointing result, but what were we expecting? I myself have an AS50 - looted it from a dead player. And this poll accords with my own experience: so many players have these guns that if you want one you just have to loot bodies or kill a player and chances are good that he'll be carrying a .50 cal sniper. Hackers/cheaters have flooded the game with them, so finding one isn't hard. -
Yeah, the game is more or less unplayable with all the hackers. Just wait until the stand alone comes out, it should be far more secure.

Debug monitor will be gone in 1.7.3 !
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Very disappointing. Having some stats was good for giving the player goals to achieve. Perhaps they should not be on the debug monitor, but listing zombies killed, players killed, headshots, etc, was great for providing a metric of success; whether you chose to make it yours or not, the option was there. Now it's gone. Far from removing stats, they should be adding more, e.g.hours played, distance traveled, rounds fired, animals killed, beans eaten, etc. -
Probably hacker.

Please bring back side chat
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Having side chat back would allow players to warn the rest of the server about hackers they may have encountered. -
It's basically going to look like Arma 3. It will be gorgeous. As smasht_AU said, it might use some Arma 2 features.

You are full of shit.
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to HamTheBacon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I used to be vocal about solving the Alt-F4 problem, but with the influx of hackers in the last month, fixing Alt-F4 would be removing the only countermeasure players have to prevent hackers from killing them. Do not 'fix' alt-F4. When the Day Z stand-alone appears with its server-side focus to increase security from hackers, then they can focus on fixing combat logging - not before. -
Buy Day Z now or wait until Standalone Game?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Thunderbolt (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Rocket said in an interview that though they are trying for an October release, it's more likely to arrive in November. I'd suggest you wait, because the plague of hackers/cheaters has ruined the game. The Day Z stand-alone game is going to be far more secure, so our hacker problem should be less pronounced. -
New server for new players!
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to drawx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Yeah, good luck with that. -
The Kind of Hackers I Love
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to AllYoYens's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You might get all sorts of delightful painkillers to take when you've got cancer - but you've still got cancer. -
Anyone notice that every single server has hackers?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to big_t's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, it's hard not to notice. -
How would you punish the script kiddies?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Sir Diealot's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Call me old fashioned, but I'm going to go with public hanging. Maybe firing squad. No, definitely public hanging. -
Anyone have a global ban overturned by battleye? How long did it take?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to grundose's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You're pathetic. I hope your ban remains instated. -
Players decreasing ?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to maxxenbraxxen's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The figure was at 200,000 in late July, by the way. I and all but one of my friends have stopped playing because of the hackers, but we'll be back when the stand-alone is ready, or if BattleEye substantially decreases the number of hackers/cheaters. -

Yep, this mod is dying
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Jimmy McNulty's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually the number of daily players has dropped to just over 150,000 from 200,000 in late July. That is quite a drop. -
Just to let you know, the 'players in the last 24h figure' was over 200,000 in late July. You can find the celebratory threads on the forum if you use the search. So the loss is actually worse than you make out - down by about 50,000 in a few weeks. My reason for ceasing? Hackers. The game is, as far as I'm concerned, unplayable in that respect. I don't mind dying to bug, glitches and other players - but hackers? No. They've sucked all the enjoyment out of the game. I'll return for the stand-alone though, as I'm sure many will.

The problem we have is not that someone is making a similar game to Day Z - our problem is that that they're shamefully trying to diminish or hide the profound influence Day Z has clearly had on the tawdry copy of it that they are making! Not to mention the impudence their lead designer, Sergey Titov, has shown in coming to our forum to plug his shitty game. The nerve! All the deceit, lies and disrespectful behavior from The War Z team is pathetic.

[Hacker Found] US 1550
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Conkerthekiller's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You found a hacker in Day Z? I hear that's like finding a virgin in a nursery school or an apple in an orchard. Quite a feat. -
So Who Do You Think The Hackers Really Are?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Devmagic's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The lead programmer of The War Z is Sergey Titov - the creator of Big Rigs Over the Road Racing, famously rated one of the worst games of the last 10 years and the holder of the lowest ever Gamespot score. This should be good. -
Thunderdome - A bad thing?
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to Noise (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Cancer - A bad thing? It's made out to be bad- which yes, it's a disease which is often fatal, but it looks rather fun to be a part of. I DO understand it would be frustrating if you got cancer and you're 22 years old with everything to live for, only to end up dying. Other then that, it would seem rather fun to be a part of - weight loss, painkillers, diamorphine, lots of sympathy, etc. But that's just me. -
My first hacker experience xD
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to freak367's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As creative as some of the hacking/scripting might be, it's still sad that this is what has become of DayZ. -
just wow so sad
Zarathustra (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, because in other languages punctuation doesn't exist. Also, the first thing you teach any prospective speaker of English is vulgar contractions like 'ur', 'r' and 'cuz'.
