Battle eye is just like PunkBuster, it causes more problems for the legitimate players than the hackers.

I still don't understand... I've been playing this game for nearly 2 months but occasionally a server I will go on will in the space of 5 minutes go from newspaper black and white to solid black white like the background on this forum. Like this... http://s10.postimage...2_19_06_062.jpg For a game that is trying to be all it about realism, its not very realistic to be that dark... especially if I look up to the sky the clouds are reflecting quite a lot of light. Yet after 5-10 minutes my characters eyes can't pick up any of the reflected light. For those who go "LOLOLOL NOT REALISTIC?" Go out to the lake district or whatever on a night time, sit in a secluded spot for 10 minutes until your eyes gradually adjust to the light levels... begin to walk around, you'll be ok but its hard. In DayZ you have a solid black outline for everything and then a bright sky? Whilst talking to other clan members I found that only a handful on the server at the same time were suffering from my the same problem... thus it doesn't seem to be a problem everyone has at the same time.

I think you will find a lot of people have done that and they still suffer from the same issues, I have been playing most of yesterday across various populated servers and had no problem but moments later I ended up playing loading simulator or character create simulator... 10 minutes later after about 5 different servers... it worked again. -

Found a player camp near the north west of the map on a certain server, I precariously approach it and attempt to gather intel on the number of tents, defenses and any active players, I roll sideways to ensure I have a better view... *BROKEN LEG* Apparently I came close to a rock and me rolling near it resulted in my femur snapping... fortunately I had one Morphine left... I did have two but I used that up for the same reason... I climbed up a deer stand and when I got the top I just fell through the floor and broke my leg and passed out. -
Can someone explain the range-finding with the CZ 550?

The CZ550 has a Chevron rather than the standard mil dot scale, however the chevron is actually around 1.5mil dots so a bit of guess work and some smart work and you can use it as a normal mil dot but it is not as quick or effective as a proper scope. -

I created a thread just like this some time ago and the best response I got was by wafflsomd I basically went onto the training level where you are on that sniping range and just changed the distances and took a mental note of how big the target was in comparison to the chevron whilst fully zoomed, it took quite a while but realistically this rifle is good up to 500m after that you start to make guess work in teh short time you have to take the shot with such a poor scope. -

Basically my experience... DayZ is an interesting game if you get over the hackers, constant broken servers and unfixed glitches. The best way to avoid hackers is to play on a near empty server, the best way to play this game unfortunately is on a near full server... so either play the game and be a bit lonely or play the game and get teleported around. -
In a real life situation like DayZ, 'basic' weapons would be very common.

I dont think that was the point of what he said though... I think the OP might of been getting at the fact that every day objects we find would be usable as a melee weapon, a hammer, a knife, lead pipe etc etc -

Hmm... I don't know if you are implying he was server hopping, If you are server hopping, combat logging or just logging out in general make sure you log out on something solid, not a structure otherwise there is a rare chance you might just spawn inside it. I got DC'd a few weeks back and haven't been able to get into game since whilst I was in the NWA, fortunately when I spawned in the door was open... otherwise I imagine I would of spawned with a door going through me... and the obvious broken bones followed by instadeath. -

It depends how many of the previous 899,999 users are still playing rather thanunique count. I can see where the OP is coming from but this a very niche game and won't appeal to everyone

Heard gunshots at the nwa on an almost empty server and then silence, found the guy had died from a swarm and for that reason i looted his corpse but there were two of his bodies and two of us in the group, ghillies, guns, ammo, gps and nvg for all 2 \0/

I've had that for the last few weeks, I haven't logged in for a while though. Basically I ended up having stuff I had dropped 2-3 days before hand reappear in my Coyote Backpack and delete what was in there. It got to the point it was annoying me so much I ended up giving the entire contents of my bag to my friend thinking it would re log me with nothing, nope... it just duped everything again and now my friend has an M249 with about 5, 100 clips. This stuff is frustrating because there is nothing I can do to keep what I want and if my friends need something and I have it in my pack back it would be considered glitching/bug abuse... on and I can't press respawn so what am I suppose to do die and HOPE my backpack bug fixes itself or just carry on giving blood bags, morphine AK, M249 and frag grenades to anyone who wants them... -
Oh well, in that case bring back global chat... Realistically it should, the force involved in an 1911 round can tear a mans chest apart, bone fragments would puncture lungs, main arteries and if a shot to the heart would kill more or less instantly. Not because he said so but because Rocket wants a realistic game and the beta patch has reduced that realism.

I can see where you are coming from but if i were you i would put on a fire resistant suit quickly, global chat is game breaking but at the same time eamspeak is fine. Players wull moan for what is best for them and makes their enemy weaker -

The problem is if you try and spawn in to play with a friend if you run from kamenka to cherno you end up needing food and water so you have to search before you set off and what turns into playing with a friend turns into solo foraging, i think rocket needs to fix it so you can group spawn before he removes respawn, then again rocket has more or less sentenced many players to death by introducing a log out timer whilst zombie can still unfairly bug through walls, teleport and appear tonwear NVG at times. -

Pretty much i kill anyone who poses a threat, being in my sight is a threat and as such i shoot on sight such is the nature of the game -
This is one problem I have with the development of Dayz, certain aspects that are changed to "experiment" with are changed without thinking of some of the obvious consequences. I love the fact that Rocket is attempting to make things experience orientated (less opportunities to run, more survival based) but at the expense of... when the game fucks up you're fucked. It will be interesting though if you publish the new data you will be collecting and see on average how many servers does someone join before finally playing. If my normal ones are offline it can be up to 10 or so servers I log on to ensure they're not laggy, full of hackers or just plain bust.

From bad to worse > BattlEye or Beta or everything?

Basically I haven't played for a while updated from 1.7.1.5 > 1.7.2.3 a few nights ago and spent 30 or so minutes playing then logged, went on last night after another few nights apart and I had logged close to the NWA start moving towards it and suddenly I get booted with a reason telling me BattlEye was not responding, I look and the entire server has been emptied. I go back on and carry on as normal no problem, it even says "BattlEye up to date" on the bottom left in red. I carry on start looting bang I get kicked again. I give up in frustration... This morning I tried and I got a plethora of errors this time, servers telling me that the server is 1.7.2.3 and that I am running an out dated version (1.7.2.3) so I think... fine its only a few hundred MB I'll re install DayZ... Do that, go back and I get the same issue try a few other servers and I start getting kicked by BattlEye before I'm even in the lobby. So I look to see how I can force update BattlEye... I do that even though the last time the files were edited show that they are up to date I replace them anyway... try again... same issue. So I'm looking and someone suggests update the beta file... so after 10 or so minutes ensuring I am confident on doing it properly I do that... Now to top it off all I get is "Wait for host" but I get flooded with message of the day on the bottom left. I know this is Alpha but I hope that if DayZ ever goes stand alone that it is not with the Arma 2 engine, games are there to be played not to have to manually faff about with anti cheat systems that punish the legitimate players and buggy in game interface (My mouse slows does to about 1dpi on the menu for some reason...). So anyway... any suggestions? Should I just completely delete all of Arma2/OA/DayZ and start from scratch or will I end up being in the same boat. What is even more annoying is the position in which my character has been logged out, pretty much the only way I can ensure I won't get murdered is by playing on an empty server or having a friend scout before I log in... -
