This is what EA said about bf3, the game was focused for PC development and shortly after release they said it was actually built with mostly console in mind, so we were left with a game that was half arsed. Seeing this news will make me question the purchase of dayzstand, i doubt the consoles an cope with such large maps etc.

Probably too much data, perhaps when standalone is fully released they may have a service for that but through alpha and beta the game is for testing and you could lose your gear at any moment anyway.

They look very similar to DMR mags, I believe they look like a satchel when they are sitting next to a dropped gun... though I'm not sure now that I think of it. However I can confirm they do look like DMR mags, I managed to actually pick up 1 x DMR magazine and 1 x 10Rnd M107 magazine at the little industry building in Prido east of Cherno... I can only assume they were dropped by a player though which would suggest players dropping them make them look like actual clips rather than bags.

So I scroll through DayZ commander, I'm going to play with a friend... everyone on that server should realistically log onto Teamspeak initially doing a google search to see if Country X, XYZ is associated with any clans or even has a website/teamspeak associated with it... bullshit but then.. hoping an admin is online so that the moment a hacker comes on the admin can drop all his stuff so that he can solve it... with 2.5 what can admins do other than turn off their server? Admins are mostly powerless due to all the "Do not, Do not and Do not" rules, some are reasonable but when an admin can barely even read the logs to discover who is hacking then it gets a bit fucking ridiculous. Like I said this is the 2nd time in 24 hours I've been killed by a hacker and I was only playing for about 30 minutes on both time, I would of had the ability to call a warning shout out to other players if I could use side chat but what happened was the entire server got insta killed. That is 39 people who lost a few hours of work illegitimately, perhaps it could of been prevented by allowing people to globally scream "Log off, hacker". However to highlight your post The flow would be to have an anti cheat system that worked...

I think side channel needs to be activated so that people can give out an early warning of a hacker. Managed to play just under 24 hours before getting insta killed along with everyone else on the server and before that I got killed by two "hackers" that were teleporting on top of people, So I was watching someone crawling towards them with my rifle thinking... this guy has been firing shots off like nobodies business I'm bound to be a target to him. Crawling crawling, name tags are on so I know who he is... he briefly looks at me *ARRGGGHHH Leg breaks, Still 12,000 blood and I'm dead...* Within a few seconds I see that the one I was looking at also died soon after along with 3...4...6 and a hole list starts scrolling. My first reaction was to attempt to tell everyone to log off because they're going to get massacred but due to "immersion" side channel is turned off. I think in this current state it really needs to be turned back on... having a mod in alpha or not filled with hackers is immersion breaking enough that any changes due to "realism" or "immersion" are somewhat irrelevant.

To be honest the whole system is flawed, It seems to go completely against what Rocket set out to do. He wanted the game to be shaped by human interaction and the players choices without mechanics that make the gameplay feel artificial, or used words to that effect. The system in place... somehow makes my character want to wear a headscarf or a lumberjacks shirt depending how well behaved I have been, if my character was really a bandit he would kill someone with the "Hero skin" and take his clothes and disguise himself. It's a silly mechanic in my eyes, I don't mind people knowing that I'm a "bandit" but when my skin changes randomly and deletes my backpack consistently because of it I get pretty frustrated, it is an Alpha I know but the mechanic has been tested and with the amount of scripts being used what stops someone just putting a skin on anyway to trick people, its also easily exploitable so... So basically, to get to your point... most of the world doesn't operate under "an eye for an eye" so I'm guessing that is where Rocket is going with the no humanity for killing bandits. The Norwegian massacre dude (I won't say his name) was responsible for a lot of deaths but the government haven't taken execution as an option.

On one occasion I was low on food, very low on food I raided a super market and found a tonne of food supplies but I had to go out in real life so I found a safe spot and logged off. Came back the next day, inventory was glitched everything I picked up was lost food bar had been set back to red and it started blinking, went down to the supermarket but for some reason nothing at all was spawned there or in the residential building next to it.... I either server hopped or had to run to another town (I didn't have matches so no fires for me) I started running.... "WELCOME TO THUNDERDOME"

As always expect a bullshit response by the admin, he also remembers such event but denies banning them. I think he got butthurt, odd the server restarts straight after and they get banned.

Ive done just that now' blasted any survivor ive come across including poor new spawns just to keep myself from having skin change problems. The problem is i only managed to get to -5000 after two kills as i was giving my mate blood transfusions and it kept going up

Ive killed at around 600 with an akm but i fired like 17 single shots to do it. Whenever i pick up a new gun i go on the arma 2 shooting range 1.1 to learn about the weapon, for example sniper scopes, i spent a while learning to use the SVD scope so that when i used it first time i got a <50m headshot and my second ever shot was a 550m headshot on someone running along a hospital roof

Had our server raped by a pair of script kiddies for a few hours then a quiet time after the server emptied and then when it filled back up we were treated to thunderdome... yay. Earlier that morning with only a few people online i saw 2 choppers and a boat that teleported. Rocket/dayz staff leave admins helpless with their do not do not do not list

I dont mind im usually geared up so they cant havevanything i want or need. Im normally trying to kill snipers in cherno or elektro but sometimes ill fling a round or two at other people. For example i was trying to take up position on a certain hil but heard someone in a nearby barn, i was hoping to encourage him to log off by direct comms but i dont think he heard it, so i took position and blasted him as soon as he came out the door, he logged... with a broken leg pissing blood and 8000 blood less than before... see it as a warning shot.

L85 is great for scouting, piss poor damage for pvp and the scope is useless at close range. I do think it should be removed from the game though, i feel naked without the thermal and no matter how well i can conceal myself someone could insta spot me with a 2 second spin with the thermal scope from 600+ I have an SVD and M4 CCO SD atm, svd to kill players and the m4 to kill players quietly, zombies i dont need to kill

I read it all and enjoyed it. Whilst the points you raised were perfectly reasonable and in my eyes a good summary with regards to 'perma death' and hoarding i dont think the solutions you presented were ideal. I see what you mean though, i got killed by a hacker lost my L85 and Mk48 plus nvg range and a full tool belt yet i spawned near the area so i knew where to go and within 10 minutes a clan member had killed the two hackers and thus i was fully equipped again now with an SVD. There were no real consequences to my death, otherwise i would of ran to our camp.

Take it as an opportunity to go kill some noobs, that is what Rocket would have wanted.

Happy to hear that this "exploit" is fixed... but... It wasn't fixed for me, I recently killed someone and dropped my MK 48 Mod 0 to pick up their DMR, I then used the DMR only a minute later to kill someone else and I ran off into the woods. I was playing for around another 10 minutes.... logged off due to needing a piss, came back shortly after and I had no DMR but I had a fully supplied MK 48 Mod 0 again and my other weapon (dare I say L85, was also full ammo again)

Same I was actually over at Balota and ended up between Otmel and Elektro when I logged in a day later.

I've struggled with the L85 to be accurate up to 300m, I've resorted to not even using it for close range combat either because of its such low damage. I just wish my survivor was intelligent enough to remove the scope and retain it merely for binocular usage.
