  1. I only play Lingor now, normal DayZ... my lives went like this... Started playing A few minutes A few hours Played a few days A day A few days Played for around a week Weeks Moar weeks Played for 2 months (Character was 34 days old, killed by a hacker) A month Hacking becomes terrible Days Hours Minutes Hackers instagibbing A few minutes Lingor goes a bit like this Spawn > Pick up AKM > shoot as many people as I can before I run out of ammo, get killed by a hatchet and laugh my ass off.... repeat A month ago and I think I would of been tripping over the rest of the community to buy the standalone as soon as it was released, currently I'm thinking I might wait... I'll wait I don't mind paying more for waiting but I just can't be arsed blowing £15 on a game (I know its not much) which then gets hacked to bits a week later and they struggle to control it again. They're bound to use battleye so lets hope they can actually make the game a bit more secure than Arma 2 is itself.

What would you trade me for a Bison pp-19?

I think they're alright when you're working in teams, especially defending snipers. Hint: If you're sniping with a squad, its good to have someone or more than someone to deal with the zeds that are bound to come. Using silenced weapons helps prevent more zeds coming and players are only alerted by the sniper rounds. There is a video on youtube of a squad of people using this brilliantly on the NWA and they are inside one of the buildings between the firehouse and north barracks, doing this they take out multiple targets whilst keeping both snipers safe and almost undetectable unless you knew where they were. Bison is brilliant for that job, player killing... unless you get a headshot its a bit crap.
  3. ...because in real life they can't log out when they get shot? Otherwise Osama would of screamed hacker when he heard multiple helicopters landing in his backyard and screamed "Allah akbar" over side channel then just logged out and played on a private hive so that his humanity would be reset. The only reason I like the murder count is because it is a good indication you killed the person you were shooting at, if my murder tally doesn't go up and the person disappeared I have tendency to log out myself because history has told me that I'm about to be ghosted. If 3 words distract you I don't think this is the game for you... how do you manage to drive in real life?

    Battleye... Oooops?

You have my beans for that
  5. There was that video the other night where a guy sprays someone in the face with his AK point blank only for the guy to turn round and put him down with a pistol and walk away. I fired 15 bison rounds at a guys face yesterday and he hit me once with a winchester and killed me... he said he received no damage what so ever... i had the 'drop' on him too. At times it feels worse than BF3
  6. Mastiff (DayZ)

    i see it now

So maybe BI should give BE makers a kick up their arse? Its starting to feel like Delta Force 2, more hackers than legit players.
  7. Im sure it was line of code, how many lines of code is it let females wear camo? Opportunity cost, i'll highlight the log changes in 2.5 for no apparent reason. Game is rife with bugs and he removes the debug monitor, the only real way of judging bp, temp, humanity, whether zombies are spawning properly and wnether that guy i shot 15 times in the faced died r logged. Im not making out like the change took resources from something else but removing the debug in alpha... seriously? Now when my humanity swings randomly, or when logging causes my BP to vary i just have to act like it was divine intervention. Why remove the proper logs admins have whilst hacking is rife? Some of his steps in development have been poor, its alpha we know but that is a good reason to keep certain stats viewable until the game is more stable.

    ATV spawns above NWAF

Don't need to server hop to find items but vehicles... I question your claims. There are multiple scenarios that can happen in this game, the server owners can horde all the vehicles and shut down the server whenever one is stolen, a clan can horde them all, teh server might not be fully whitelisted so no vehicles are spawned what so ever.... there are vehicles but they're hidden or waiting to respawn. You might get lucky but out of the 100s of servers I have played I have found two helicopters and a bus, one helicopter was hacked along with the bus and the final helicopter was on skalisty island at that spawn. I've played so many hours of this game looking for vehicles, I always scan the vehicle spawns when I am nearby and I have only found one legitimate vehicle. I've found vast camps with 10-20 tents full of gear beyond your wildest dreams but no vehicles. If I wanted a vehicle badly I would server hop till I found one and set up home and stay on that server. Just like I have done on Lingor I've set up home on one server and on that server I also have a vehicle but that vehicle is barely even hidden, all someone does is need to go off road by about 50m near a large POI and they will find it sitting at the base of a hill, just its good to know vehicles exist on that server and that is why I am staying. Its not even a case of me not finding vehicles myself, the only vehicles I have seen other people using are hacked ones on DayZ and I've been playing a lot for the past 3 months so... Serverhopping is lame for ghosting and in some sense even loot spawns but this is alpha, I've seen countless times where the entire server was void of loot, are you suggesting people should keep looking even though the server is broken indefinitely (until restart)... no you would log and go onto another server but wait you're server hopping! So what defines server hopping? Are you only allowed on one server per night? You need to put the e-honour away, people ghost, hack, glitch, dupe and hop to their hearts content on this game, when the game is in alpha and some of the mechanics aren't polished if someone wants a vehicle are you really asking him to look indefinitely on a server that might not even have any spawned? Pssh
  9. Lol... pointless change is pointless. The chance to introduce some real content or a proper bug fix... removes debug panel. Just like 2.5 he removes the ability for admins to look through the logs properly, unnecessary change. So tell me, have they solved the humanity + skin changes bug? Constantly changing skins without notice, deleting everything in my backpack or in some cases deleting my backpack completely and giving the starter pack? How am I suppose to know when my character is randomly going to change clothes? At the moment it is best for my character to just kill as many humans as I can and that guarantees me the skin won't change randomly. Removing the debug monitor whilst humanity is still dicking about is just plain silly... Humanity is a ridiculous system anyway, probably worst change in the game, it has more swings than a child play park and should be trackable. If you're going to make my character have some sort of emotional attachment to the amount of people he has killed or help at least give me a way of tracking that. Just like blood pressure, in real life I don't know exactly what it is but I know what Good/normal is and I know what "Oh shit feels like" or I know what it feels like when I start going sluggish and my sense fade. The current indicators in this game are "Green, A poorly shaded Green Red... Red", just like the thermometer it doesn't even display a logical colour for temperature. It should be Blue = Cold and Red = Hot, its a universal indicator, instead it has some sort of orangey yellow/green tinge to it that seems to be at that whatever temperature you're at. All I do now is use heat packs every so often because without temp on the debug monitor it is almost impossible to determine what it is at... lying down in the middle of the field in the rain at night for 10 minutes and my temp picture doesn't change colour what so ever. My clan server is running 2.4 whilst I'm on 2.5 I can't see them upgrading to .3 either now. Edit: I wonder if the Lingor Island modders will continue with this change, We've seen them revert some of the changes (Side channel for one) and it would be interesting. I think Lingor holds a lot more potential than Rocket makes out, if he can monitor the player reactions on both Lingor and normal DayZ (if the Lingor team would co operate) then perhaps he would be able to come to a better conclusion. Being in Alpha that sort of stuff should be viewable to make the game less frustration when its full of bugs.

What Is you'r View on the crossbow?

It should not have to be a loot drop, I can make a usable quiver out of string and just tie my bolts together. I would expect a "Quiver" to be included in standalone on its first build but at the same time I think bolts should be stackable up to around 10 bolts. I mean come on they're about 10mm wide and 250mm long a bunch of 10 including the flights can easily fit into the "bottle pocket" you see on the side of a backpack, why would I need a quiver? If that is a loot drop that is rare... they've made this game awkward for no reason. "Portable generator in my pockets, no problem... No quiver? sorry mate you can only carry 9." Crossbow should come with a quiver they shouldn't be separate.

    First Lingor experience

I enjoy Lingor a lot more... -Seems to be a lot less hackers - Private hives are quick (Lingor.tk hive is a bit slow) - Nice big map - Lots of buildings - Lots of lootable buildings - Lots of towns - Lots of POI - Spawn points are on the edge of the island, most people focus going to the centre Calamar/Airfields - Control Towers and Barracks are a lot more common - Easier to pick up and play - A busy server you can encounter a few people To me the map is huge, it has a lot of towns that make the running long distances a bit more interesting, where as normal DayZ on Chenarus there is only a handful of towns worth visiting with most of them with empty buildings. The fact that all buildings are enterable makes looting a bit more interesting, spoilt for choice on what room to go into but not everyone has loot. I find hte problem with Chenarus is if I visit say Polana and I go into the town, there are only 1/2 residential buildings and a supermarket if there is nothing there I'm bummed because all other buildings are useless. So much running a barely any reward. There are also a lot more airfields which makes sense for an island with a military theme, vehicles are easier to come by and there is a highway that allows for quick travel when driving but you are exposing yourself massively (Stole a GAZ and was driving down the highway and got chased by two guys in a military jeep was great fun, lost them on the mountain rounds. To me the map has a much more enjoyable feel to it but it doesn't have the scarce feel of DayZ because it is quite easy to find an AKM within a few minutes of spawning. Though to be honest that scarcity of items and weapons grows tiresome in DayZ when there is only one or two spawns in a "City" because only a handful of buildings can be entered. Chenarus + might change that but I can't help but think they won't be increasing the amount of loot spawns but only spreading out the current spawns through the new buildings which will just making looting so boring. I also think for that reason people are not KOS as much on Lingor, I've come across a few people and had engagements but a lot of the time it turns out friendly and i think that is down to the rarity of items. What I have learnt I think is DayZ and Lingor don't feel to me that they have the replayability factor in a few months time, which causes concern for me... I'm so bored of Chenarus now and knowing they're recycling the map puts a damper on the standalone, unless they stretch it out massively in the surrounding forests I don't think I'll enjoy it as much as Lingor. You're talking about normal DayZ right? That is why I play Lingor now because normal DayZ was so glitched I lost half my items in my backpack from skin changes and I could log out and log back in with a different primary weapon that I dropped a year ago.

    ATV spawns above NWAF

Not everyone wants to spend the entire day searching only to find every vehicle is horded by the hosts. If you do for the sake of e-honour then have fun but i cant see that being fun... hive system only encourages this style of play. Furthermore not every hive server has vehicles spawned and there is no way of knowing unless the host tells you.

1 makarov shot brings down a helicopter...

The OP will never deliver, it is up to you to show this forum what delivering is all about. Deliver like you've never delivered before, for one mans delivering is another mans delivery. Deliver it good son, deliver it good.
  14. Mastiff (DayZ)

    It's all about hit detection

That shit happens all the time, I though BF3 was bad but this game can take the biscuit for sync issues.
  15. Mastiff (DayZ)

    Dayz's latest hack

Well... if you didn't want to lose your stuff you should of DC'd but that is really odd, he teleports onto you to use the gun but can destroy cities whilst remaining invisible :\
  16. Mastiff (DayZ)

Bring back the temperature reading in debug.

The temperature thing should work as Blue - Cold Green - Ideal Red - Hot Instead it has some weird orangey hue to it which looks exactly the same from 34 to 42 for me, I've not once seen it work properly, I just use a heat pack every now and then on a night time since theyre easy to come across.
  17. Its Alpha... people should be able to quit, fix the player exploits after you've fixed the hackers etc. It's just going to piss off and already largely agitated userbase when they've got nothing they can do because a hacker is teleporting behind them and executing them or nuking an entire server.

Apocolypse Currency (ideas for trade items)

I think he really should just imlpement a trade system to trade between two survivors, no currency. A system where you don't have to open someone's back pack or drop gear onto a loot pile on the floor, something where I can walk up to my friend scroll or select "trade" and then he can accept the trade with a keystroke (to prevent trade window spamming) and then the window opens. If I don't have the back pack space the trade can't happen... simples A currency isn't necessary its up to us to gauge how valuable items it would also only encourage bandits to kill everyone they come across as they will drop their money, if it was to ever exist it should really be Human ears or something along those lines...
  19. Basically... I finally decided to update from .4 to .5... I totally rerolled and dropped my SVD, M4CCOSD, NVG, RFs basically everything on to a random roof in cherno, and rolled off the roof. I'm wondering has anyone else experienced this humanity system at its worst? I log in and I'm at 0 humanity with a bandit 'skin'... after about 10 minutes of walking around it randomly changes me to a survivor 'skin'. Here is the first instance where this mechanic is poorly implemented (I know its Alpha), when the skin changes it changes my POV to 1st person, without warning my character magically changes outfit. Suddenly my character that once somehow magically concealed his back pack now has it on show. On top of that if it changes when my pistol (secondary) is out it will actually change to my primary weapon however the skin will remain the same (I had an M1911 out, skin changed... skin changed caused me to stand up , aggrod a zombie, aimed with my 'M1911' it ended up being a winchester that was fired, the gun skin remained the same until I swapped to my real M1911 and back to the winchester... by then I had aggrod every zombie possible within audible range inside Berezino.) Secondly, Not a single server has managed to save my process as a character since changing to .5, by that I mean, zombie kills and headshots are not recorded and neither is humanity, so when I log back in... guess what I have that Bandit skin back on... It feels like I'm a ticking time bomb on when my skin will randomly change! Furthermore, with the constant screw ups with this inherently bad inventory system arma 2 carries which obviously isn't designed for DayZs needs, is it really wise for Rocket/DayZ staff to implement such a system where the skin constantly back and forth at the same time people are having disappearing back packs, teleporting back packs and well constant fuck ups when they try and put alternative clothing on? Basicallly... Recently I found a camo suit, I put my back pack on the floor as most people are told to do to avoid the glitch, I then put the clothing on and wait... what the f!?!? The back pack has teleported onto my back!? Wtf... its also empty? So I developed a technique for myself that I haven't seen anyone else use which is I empty all the contents of my backpack onto a loot pile and then place the skin on with my backpack on and then put the loot back into my bag... so I found a work around... On to the initial problem I have had with this Hero, Survivor and Bandit skin system, I found a bandit who had been killed near to where I had the glitch in part one of my post, before my skin changed I picked up this bandits Alice pack with goodies inside took what I wanted etc and had no problem... I carried on playing for some time before my skin changed (as described above)... I had found an AKM on his body so I had that ready for if shit hit the fan, when shit hit the fan and I needed something with better stopping power I opened my back pack... to find after my skin changed it changed my backpack to the starter coyote sack... wtf? Again... an unavoidable bug that will inevitible happen within 30 minutes of me logging onto a server... I would hate to have to shoot another human player because what, my skin is going to change mid combat I run a risk of my weapon changing and I also run a risk of losing everything in my back pack... but wait thats not it! The contents of my newly spawned Coyote sack were... stuff I dropped earlier on in the day and some stuff I had actually eaten... so this raises another question... How long does the Hive actually take to update? Is this mod (in Alpha yes) even ready for this what on the front seems to be a very simple system but under neath is actually having to deal with very many aspects of the games. Is this what the mod will become when standalone is released at Alpha, will all dodgy changes be tested on this mod? I'm more than likely to get the standalone and probably for the main reason I believe it will be stable or more so compared to the mod... So basically at the end what I wanted to sum up and ask... 1) Does anyone else suffer from this sort of activity 2) Do you like the skin changing system? 3) Do you think the skin system could be game breaking (Changing mid combat, or in my case in front of a swarm of zombies and changing my gun (but leaving the previous gun skin active)) 4) Does anyone else suffer with back packs constantly deleting, not saving, duping items? A while ago I had an M249 that constantly duped for about 3 days on my character I couldn't get rid of it and ended up giving out like 6 M249s to friends along with ammo. 5) Do you think these sort of updates should wait until standalone is released (in my experience this mod cannot work with these updates, I'm not looking forward to dogs what so ever) 6) Do I look fat in this? Oh wait I've changed clothes again, what about n... oh wait... 7) Anyone else found that the Hive/Server you are on is no longer tracking your zombie kills/headshots/murders properly? 8) On a scale of 1/10 would you read again? Thank you Edit: Please insult my poor grammar and spelling mistakes, I was in a bit of a rush so I didn't proof read.
  20. €15 isn't going to break the bank and as a base game is a good price to pay whilst it is in Alpha. Though I do wonder what price the DLCs will come out for... it's pretty much confirmed that will happen so.

trading AS50 for a blood bag and epi-pen.

Why do you need a blood bag and epi pen? I assuming when the blood bag is delivered you are expecting that person to administer it to you.... which would render the epi pen useless because you'd be on 12,000... I smell a rat.

    Please Host activate SideChannel

Be a leader son, go develop that game, go develop it good.
  23. I was on our clan server recently and cherno and elektro were completely empty, literally nothing spawned... went into a barn and saw a hatchet. Server restarted, everything was back to normal.
  24. Mastiff (DayZ)

    Please Host activate SideChannel

Ok, I'm wrong... you're completely right. Instead of solving the situation or floating ideas about on how to improve the game we should request that all players install 3rd party applications to further break immersion by using voice comms. You sir should be a lead developer... I'm only suggesting to use it as a temporary fix until the hacking situation is dealt with or minimised. The game isn't very immersive anyway when it comes to chatting because any player that uses VOIP outside of the game instantly gain a special telekinesis power that other players don't have. I can't quite understand why you seem to be so "butt hurt" I just *have* to say it when someone suggests a temp fix.
  25. They do exist but they have no use as of the moment, I think it takes up 6 spaces in your inventory or something silly that or 3? I can't remember but yeh... as far as I am aware they aren't even in Arma 2 so it is a DayZ specific item (I think).
