    If you watch the video you can see it in their inventory right before they get the ban message. I assume they picked it up in "the thunderdome" at some point but I don't have time/patience to see when. It has no icon next to it which is a telltale sign of an illegal class.

    not after a restart, no. But if there server is still running, then as soon as you respawn just sprint to your body and you can pick up everything and carry on.

    As far as the mod's code goes, there is nothing more Rocket can do to solve it until DayZ becomes standalone. it's up to Battleye and the Arma2 devs to try and tighten up security. It's no doubt a problem and if you're not prepared to deal with it when it happens it is better not to play.

    The "insta kill" hack doesn't seemed to be used that much, presumably because it's boring even for the hacker. Best thing to do is sprint back to where your body was, pick up your stuff, and then quit the server. Some other hacks you might notice are being teleported and being transformed into a farm animal. If you notice strange things like this, just alt-f4 out asap. it's really annoying I know, but I figure its best to try and not complain so that they don't get any gratification from it.

    I don't pay as a bandit and have never killed another player, but I don't mind the snipers. It adds to the tension. I can be almost anywhere on the map and still feel like I could be shot at. Knowing this makes me spend a long time scouting areas with my binocs before proceeding. It's pretty exiting. Even more so when a bullet whizzes near to you and you have to try and figure out where you are getting shot from to hide. If I knew that I wasn't going to get shot at from a long distance I wouldn't be half as worried. A map of this size needs sniper rifles imo.

    I'll be back for sure. Even though I think Vilayer's servers are in Luxembourg and I am in the very south of Portugal, I get better ping with you than in the Portuguese servers somehow (!) Thanks for taking the time to reply. From what you say and what I have read since last night it sounds like you guys are in an impossible situation with regards to hacking, so lets hope future battleye/ arma2 beta patches stop it from happening again. :)

    Suffered my first ever script kiddie death today so... A door A rabbit A rock A tree Going prone A door Server wide script kiddie death A door Teleportation A door. Onto character 6. 1-3 died from Zombies while I was learning to play 4 died in pvp (i got sniped in Cherno) 5 died from the script kiddie. Long live Six!

    Just a heads up, at 00:26 (UTC) everyone in SE16 was teleported to the same spot and murdered. I couldn't figure out who it was but maybe you can see in the server logs and ban them. Lost my 3 week old character :( I know its not you guys' fault but if you can find who did it and report them that would be good. Aside from this, thanks for providing the server

    Fair enough for coming clean. Hope you decide to play again in the future the fun way (without the hax). Just as a point - you didn't lose your items to a glitch, you are supposed to randomly lose things when swimming.

    Never. I have not killed a single other player. Would only kill a player if I was sure he was a bandit (i.e. I saw him killing another survivor). I often see other players but I keep out of sight.

    In 1.7.1.5 the zombies were so predictable that it wasn't much of a challenge once you figured them out. Adding the slight element of randomness that the latest versions have makes it more interesting, in my opinion. You are never be quite sure, which keeps you on edge. Maybe 1.7.2 was a little bit too mad but 1.7.2.3 has got it working quite nicely, i think.

    Do not put all settings on low. It can make performance worse. for example, putting shadows on low means that your processor draws the shadows instead of your graphics card. Putting everything on low means you are giving your processor too much work whilst your graphics card is probably being underused. My PC is 4 years old and this game runs fine. Try increasing some of the settings. It's about finding a balance.

    Back in secondary school I randomly chose to learn Russian instead of more common options like Spanish and German. It seemed like a waste but I now realise it was all to prepare me for navigating my way through Chernarus :D

    1.7.2.3 is the best version yet for me. Runs well and zombie's are less predictable than in 1.7.1.5, but not so extreme as in 1.7.2.

    Given that infected respawn very quickly and ammo can be refilled by leaving the server, it would actually be pretty easy to do, albeit a bit boring.
