1. Log out timers. It should take a minimum of 20 to 30 seconds to safely log out of the game. If you lose connection your character should remain in game for the same duration. This would stop people from logging out during combat. 2. All weapons, equipment, vehicles should become server based. Each time you join a new server you should have to start again. This would effectively fix server hopping. 3. Zombies revisions. Two types. Rage Zombies and Horde Zombies. Rage zombies are basically what is in game now (fast and chase you down). Horde Zombies are slower but spawn in huge numbers and can spawn anywhere not just near towns. For example you spend too long in one place a zombie horde might spawn and surround you. Leaving you the choice of fighting your way out, trying to evade them or dieing. Also the horde should be attracted to abandoned vehicles. Once they find one they should attack the vehicle until it's destroyed. This would help balance people from whoring all the vehicles. This would also create an sense of urgency when ever you stop in a vehicle to not take to long. Adding to the overall tension in the game. 4. Unarmed Combat. - you should be able to punch or kick barring that use sticks, lead pipes, baseball bats, whiskey bottles. If you can pick it up you should be able to use it as a weapon. Sticks, baseball bats, whiskey bottles could all a limited life. For example a whiskey bottle would break after one or two hits during an encounter but you could still stab with whats left a few times. Then you would have to look for something else. Sticks may last a few zombies before breaking etc. 5. Crafting. Hybrid weapons created by merging equipment together. 2x4 with a nail threw it comes to mind. Gas with a whiskey jar makes a molotov cocktail. Pipe bombs made from empty cans/bottles and gun powered from shotgun shells. etc. etc. 6. Player made structures. It would great to see the game become even more sandboxy. Allowing players to construct bases/bunkers. Then fortify them with defenses (walls, fencing, gun placements?). Of course everything that could be created could be destroyed. This would add to the metagame by allowing bandit raiders to attack other players fortifications. 7. Destructible deployables. You should be able to destroy anything that you can deploy. (ie fencing, sandbags or tank traps) 8. Becoming a zombie. Basically once you are bitten enough times you would attack your friends or anyone nearby. It could be something that happens over time based on how many times you come in direct contact with the zombies. There is no cure for it besides not letting the zombies get close to you. 8. Servers run by game companies and not by clans. (see conflict of interest) 10. Better hacking protection.
