Greetings to all. Week-old DayZ player here, first post on forums. So far, my main method of navigation in-game was constantly alt-tabbing and looking at http://dayzdb.com/map#3.073.112 . (But I do use my watch/compass/actual map when I find such). While reading some guides here, I've seen that the worst thing to do concerning maps is to use the one from the site while alt-tabbing, because that obviously means you being away from your game for a couple of precious seconds which may result in death. I have also heard that it is possible to use this map but through steam, in-game. Problem is, I can't seem to access Steam in-game. I press Shift+Tab but nothing appears. So, my question is, how exactly do I make this work, to have the map open through the steam browser and view it in-game? EDIT: For the suggestions so far, thanks, but I have neither any spare monitors, nor can I successfully print out a readible copy of the map.

I'm also encountering this issue, but the worst is the constant lag and desync. Almost all european servers are currently unstable, not spawning loot and lagging a lot. Would appreciate news from officials!

Right. Since the 1.7.2, almost all European servers have been really slow and unresponsive. I'm usually playing at the UK servers, and right now, it takes a VERY long time for me to connect, and when (IF) I do, there is no loot in them and there is extreme lag and desync. The zombies do spawn though. Does anyone have any idea why this is and am I the only one who is encountering this issue? P.S I'm from Europe so I generally prefer to play on European servers for less ping.

Right. I feel incredibly dumb now. Thanks for the heads up JKFlipFlop. I managed to follow the extremely confusingly-written readme text but in the end I think I patched it correctly!

I am also curious. The newest version right now is 94444. I tried to manually install it but there was no effect. I still get rejected from servers running the last patch. Does anyone care to extrapolate on how exactly one updates this "ArmA 2 Beta"?

Ran the exe, installed it, yet when I enter OA the version is still 1.60.8756 something. Thanks, still, I'll just stick with what I have atm and wait for it to magically update by itself :D

Guys, this is sort of an off-topic question, but I'm really confused about these beta patches. Moments ago it seems that a new ArmA patch was released, 94444 something, and a few servers are already patched to that. My question is, how exactly do I update my game to that patch? I already visited the above-mentioned site for arma updates and downloaded the latest one, but it's a zip file. Should I just unzip it into the ArmA 2 OA folder or? Much appreciated!

Generally, it is cheating, but a more subtle form of cheating. I'm mainly using it to see where/what loot I can generally find. but come to think of it, I've almost memorized all the different buildings and loot defined for them, aswell as the Southern-most part of the map. I think I should be able to keep going even without it. Thanks for the replies guys, I guess I really don't need fancy maps that much!
