Server restart is the only safe way to do it.

Have you seen our ATV? - Arma physics in action
vile. replied to Vysavacz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
LOL Last time i tried pushing a flipped ATV with another vehicle (tractor), it pushed back until both it and the Tractor were buried at the harbor floor. :D -
M9SD: great for when you have to take out a few zombies and don't want to alert nearby players or zombies in the process. MK 48: by far the best PvP weapon for mid/close range. does insane damage, is very accurate, has a great sight and 100 rnd mags. Against zeds i would pick the M4A1 CCO SD for obvious reasons. AS50: one hit, one kill against players and insane damage against vehicles with NATO rounds. Compared to the M107 the zoom is inferior but it's quieter (against other players) and has far less recoil.

Yes, this has been going on for over a month now. Needs to be blacklisted.
-
Just wanted to add that this has been going on for at least a month now. Me and my mates used to be regulars on LU134 but one day we suddenly got insta-kicked everytime we joined the server. It's only ever the admin and a few other players online probably farming NWAF, so i think its time to take it down.
-
So me and alot of friends used to play on this server alot, but for ~1 week now everytime any of us tries to join we get a "You were kicked off the game. (BattlEye: Banned)" It used to be an active server and was almost always full but since then there is usually only 1-3 people on it for more than a few seconds. At first i though they just had some issues but this has been going on for a week now and the server versions were getting updated during that time. Is this a BattleEye issue, or are those bans issued by the admins themselves? Cause if the admins are responsible for this the server should probably be blacklisted. As long as I didn't hack it in right?
vile. replied to Flex Plexico's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Killing people with hacked weapons can get you banned and has happened to others before. -
Periodically wiping some all tents/vehicles would probably hurt the legit players most. The people who actively dupe will only have to do a few crash site/NWAF runs to get one of each item and then dupe the shit out of them again. I agree though that this is one of the biggest issues atm. The thrill of the loot hunt is pretty much gone now for me after i found a city of ~20 tents stocked with everything you could ever want. At first me and my friends thought we had actually raided it, but the tents just had MORE of the same items a day later due to intentional or unintentional duping. But yea, imo duping is one of the 3 biggest issues atm right after ALT-F4 and ghosting and once it is fixed all characters, tents and vehicles need to be wiped.

Event: Freeside Trading Co. Open Trading - 7/20 - 7/22
vile. replied to Publik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Keep up the good work guys, this is one of the coolest thing I've seen clans doing in DayZ so far. Me and my friends actually wanted to join you but since we have a ~200 ping to Seattle 104 it's sadly not an option atm. Do you have any plans to expand your operations to an European server in the future? -
Seems like everyone who tries to join the server immediately gets a BatteEye ban message, which is probably why its always almost completely empty aside from 1 or 2 players. If that's the admin the server should probably be reported and disconnected from the hive since it has been like this for a week now.

Post apacolyptic greifing simulator for D-bags
vile. replied to skyter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Unless you're lying, you died at least 4 times due to easily avoidable bugs (excluding the instance where you spawned on another player). And you rage about the "bandits" who shoot unarmed noobs in cherno/elektro/balota etc, who for a veteran player should be non issue, since there is no reason at all to stay there once you got some basic gear unless you want to get yourself killed over and over again. The risk there is insanely high, and the reward non-existent for veteran players. So unless you're just bad, you seem to be a very very careless player who doesn't really care about surviving or not. 90% of the real bandits are up north on the map, because this is where you get to fight people who can fight back and have a fairly high chance to get high end loot and vehicles. This is what me and my group do atm and yea, it's alot of fun (at least for now)... We pick one of several high priority locations, set up carefully planned ambushes and take out people who grow careless up north because they have good gear and vehicles. Shooting unarmed players is of course stupid, because they are not worth the bullet and potentially giving away your location, but only really happens in the south. Without the constant threat of real bandits wherever you are on the map this mod would be terrible. And it has NOTHING to do with griefing (not talking about the elektro snipers here). And if you think being a bandit up north where people are usually organized and know how to play is without risks, you're deluding yourself. My main goal in this game is SURVIVAL, and me and my group chose to play as bandits. I have never died to a sniper in either elektro or cherno becausei knew even before i started playing that those areas are death traps, and while i sometimes try i quick loot run there, i usually stop trying after i died once and just find everything i need to survive on my way up north. I see no reason to go there at all besides hunting and killing people who are stupid enough to bring all their high end gear there to use freshly spawned players as target practice. (instead of just doing that in the editor) So basically you are raging about dying to bugs and the "fps-crowd" on the coast. Both of which are pretty much non-issues once you've learned the ropes of the game. But instead of avoiding them, you blame bandits who have pretty much NOTHING to do with the issues you brought up and are one of the main factors why this game is such an intense and brutal experience. The only thing i can agree with is that friendly survivors seeking to group up with strangers should have more tools available that makes it at least somewhat less risky, since committing yourself to that playstyle is significantly more dangerous and almost impossible and very frustrating for people who are new to the mod. -
Looks like that was actually a hacker considering he used a AS50 TWS which is not in the game afaik.
-
^ this I'm a sniper, and a don't have a l85, but if me and my buddies are camping a certain area, you're not gonna see me with your L85 any sooner than i see you through my AS50 scope unless the weather on that server is really bad (and i won't be sniping then anyway). And while you are immobile and scanning the treelines ill just put an .50 cal round in your chest. Snipers that know what they are doing are already a major threat in this game, and the L85 just works in their favor. Cause if you have one spotter with an L85 in a 2 or 3 man sniper team, each of those snipers is gonna see you or your squad moving in before you have any chance to spot all the snipers waiting for you no matter how many L85s you have.
-
Sounds like a good idea. If this works out me and a couple of friends might give it a try.
-
The CZ550 is the most common of all the sniper rifles in this game, so no big loss. And you should wait at least a few minutes after you have changed anything at all in your inventory before you log out. It's an alpha. And you may wanna speak English on this forum.

New to DAYZ, regretting buy arma to play "the best zombie game"
vile. replied to thehighexalted's topic in New Player Discussion
If you want to interact with the environment (pick up stuff, climb ladders, use items on other players, etc) or switch between primary and secondary weapon, use the mouse wheel. If you want to use items in your inventory, just press G to open it, then right click on whatever item it is you want to use (food, drink, bandages, morphine, etc). The controls are not that bad once you get used to them. -
Gz m8, was my lucky day too today. Just wanted to walk to a spot where i had hidden an ATV and got lost in the forest a bit when i stumbled upon a very large camp. Suffice to say I'm now multiple AS50, M107, M4A1 CCO SD, Bizon SD, Gps, Rangefinder and some other goodies richer :D

After placing your tent, you should put one trash item inside it, save and wait for the next server restart. If it's still there, it should be safe to use after that. If not, rinse and repeat. As for the duplicating issue... If you place a tent at and then pack it up again, it will actually still be there after a server restart even though you removed it from that location earlier. This is why you should be very careful if you want to place your tent in a stealthy fashion, because if you place it in a bad spot once, it will still be one that very same spot after a server restart even if you removed it.

Successfully traded an AS50 for a DMR + M14. Nobody got harmed, so afaik Dagyr is a trustworthy trader. t4t.
-
Could offer a DMR, M14, M4A3 CCO, or FN FAL for it. All with ammo included and depending on what you want more than one of these... Pm me if you're interested so we can discuss trading conditions.

loling through zombies ruins the game
vile. replied to Jackftw's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yea, zeds are not much of a threat atm and just sprinting through hordes and then parking them in a building does sort of kill the atmosphere a bit. Imo the most important things to fix are the animations (they just look weird and unrealistic), and implement either a stamina stat for players so you cant run forever or give zeds the ability to hit you while running. -
After you've placed a tent, just put a raw meat, tin can or some other trash item inside and wait until after the next server restart. If it's still there it should be safe, if not, rinse and repeat.
