To be honest, if I hear gunfire then see a body/bodies I assume everyone I see in the immediate area is a threat, call me paranoid but that's the way I play and that's how I am still alive 5 days in O.o

I have to agree with DarkRaven123, too many times have I called out friendly over Direct and get a shotgun too the face as a response. I try and play friendly, but now I play with my brother we tend to try and avoid players, but at this moment in time we are in deep in Cherno and have had many close calls! but thanks to my AK with full auto and his deadeye shot with his winchester we have despatch a couple hostiles, none that we aggro first might I had, props to them though for trying to take on two of us :D AJ

Been talking to my brother recently about this game and I am looking back into my army survival days and one thing I was thinking about that could be added was the ability to mark your map. (once you find one and a pen/marker obviously) Like marking areas you have searched, if you pitched a tent, marking a rough area of where you are, obviously you wont know exact position but being able to scribble land marks and notes down could be helpful if new players and people are not proficient at reading maps. This could also mean if you loot someone you can see what notes they have put down and maybe find a tent they have pitched. I don't know how this could work so let me know your ideas about this? I see, well if they ever introduced this maybe they could fix the global view thing? I was just thinking like a blue sharpie (because sharpies rock!) which you can control with your mouse and actully manually write stuff down (assuming the map is like a good old fold out one. This could also help when u got a buddy, one marks while other keeps watch. either way the map is still good, just like to add more realism into it :D AJ

Ok nice, I will give it a go! only had map couple times, I have an A3 print out but don't want to pen that up as I don't imagine my work will appreciate me going though 7 A3 colour prints a week :P If it does show up on everyone's map, that's obviously bad! But like everything in DayZ you take the risk and reap the benefits or sleep with the bugs :D AJ

Depends on situation TBH, I have had my fair few run-ins with players with good and bad outcomes. My favourite and one of my first was at the small airfield near bolota, I had just looted the tower and found a hatchet and *mackral* gun (no ammo), then suddenly! footsteps! [thank the technology god for 5.1 headphones] I see a player running up the stairs wielding a hatchet...now we have a god damn stand off, I ask through chat saying I'm friendly but I know his checking out my Czech pack, I slowly back off... Suddenly he charges without saying a word and now we gone all medieval on each others asses! luckily I have been practising a lot with hatchet kills on zombies and know there distance of swing, so after a few clumsy strikes from him and some quick finger action on my W & S key, I get the killer blow! and my heart is pounding at this point and I just start laughing! :thumbsup: It's things like this that make the game so epic! and I love it! My most recent death after 13 days alive was just outside Cherno in the woods as I was running to meet my brother I got sniperd in the back :o felt pretty hard done by, but that's life in DayZ! Now back 3 days in, got my trusty old AK47 back and ready to charge back into cherno/elektro :D Pretty much what I am trying to say is, I will prob shoot you in the buildings, but in open unless a big open field ill probably ignore unless you suddenly stop and aim at me :D AJ

I'm up for forming a team, I currently play with my Brother and a friend when his not working and it is a lot more fun playing with 2+ people! just bit boring finding each other! Be good to add to my group :D we are currently looking for tents to set up camp! Live in UK and generally can get on around 18:00? I will let you know my name ect ect when I get home from work AJ

Hey man, me and my Brother have got into this a lot last week or so, and although playing with 2 people is fun we need more to hit places like the airfield, may also have a third person joining me as he is a RL friend.
