It has been done with many games the uses multiple servers e.g. DIABLO 3. My favourite example is EVE online which only uses one server and tracks everything, but DayZ is nothing in comparison in terms of scale :) I understand its still an alpha so nothing to major until it went full game. AJ

It's a nice idea but the whole point of this game is to have no real structure in game play, basically your idea but it can happen any time...anywhere...anyone...anything. Keep certain times to attack and all the jazz out of games like this, good thought though :D AJ

Ooohh that is a good idea! maybe implement like your own heat treatment just by using a fire and water bottle + empty tin cans to boil the water, wouldn't 100% disinfect but come pretty close, but you are right most ponds are stagnant and I don't think I would drink one even if I was in a Zombie apocalypse :P AJ

Yeah I am following this post and would love to see some of the ideas come through. Not saying it would be a bad thing but for example me who only gets on at 21:00 GMT London Time* Say all the -6 GMT severs that I use got locked down then I would be screwed (even more then you already are lol!) Either way I am very up for POS coming into this game :D

I agree with you about the EVE thing, playing that now for 6 years almost and POS is generally what gets everyone riled up when it's besieged due to no one being online during certain timezones. To implement this on DayZ would not work the same as all you would have to do is make max 20 server and spam your group/clan untill they are all in... maybe they could only limit this to like 60+ people servers? thing with EVE its a complete open world 1 server game which allows for more dynamic and sandbox type gameplay, having different server stops that :( Really good idea though and I would like to see it implemented, my main concern would be a group kitting out with UBER weapons then just griefing in Cherno on another Server? Could talk about this for hours but its early im at work and my head hurts ;) AJ

Agree with the vehicle thing, could you imagine wrapping a bike up in scrimp camp and riding around screaming... "I AM A BUSH! FEAR ME!" ;) AJ

No... whole point of this game is to be realistic... No point on having sun sets/rise, stars ect ect if they moved un realistic as the time went on and would make a watch useless. Just join a server that's in the day. And have you ever walked through a field at 03:00am with no artificial lights? you might as well have your eyes shut lol, they could add moon glint though :) AJ

Not a "modern" military weapon but still one of the best gun's around and most reliable in real life** Only downside I find on DayZ is it's so freaking loud! zombies find you from miles off! lol But a solid all round weapon. They need to bring in thos noisan* seeing as we are in Russia lol AJ

Yeah I have to agree! I didn't sneak up on a player couple weeks ago with nothing but a hatchet and my balls to find half his gear missing after I had just caved his skill in...this would ruin the game completely and would not be very realistic at all... so NO! What would be realistic is when you get shot at, bullets generally cause holes and can penetrate so maybe the water bottle you had is now useless cause there a .45 sized hole through it or those cans of pasta now have metal shrapnel in them, your backpack now has a gaping hole after a near miss from a sniper...half pack size due to the massive holes in the side! Now that would make it interesting, even if you get killed but got a few hits they would still be screwed ;D AJ

You have to remember this is still an Alpha and comments like this do help... a lot, yes you came over like a fool, but looking past that you do make some good points. You have to remember his doing this completely of his own back for non-profit, his giving us what we want and that's an open world sandbox game that has no storyline to it and no real direction apart from survival and too me that is everything I need in a game, the thrill of finding your first ever weapon, seeing your first player, making your first kill or getting destroyed by zombies.... playing the nice guy then getting shot in the back 10 minutes later...the list goes on, this is a SANDBOX game and its designed to be just that. Yes some things need to be improved on and other things need to stay the same, you shouldn't take this game (or any for that matter) too seriously because they are just games but serious enough to make it entertaining and enjoyable. I agree with the whole camping [FUCKING CAMPERS!] thing but all games have it and it is something you have to deal with so DEAL WITH IT! if you don't like it, don't go to Elektro and Cherno earn your short DayZ life in smaller towns if you want more a challenge Anyway just have fun is all I am trying to say :) AJ

I hate ALT+ F4 people but my issue is people with shoddy internet, I have lagged out many times over a 2-3 hour period, will this affect my log in capabilities like being seen as im ALT+F4'ing? AJ GREAT WORK THOUGH! :D My girlfriend now hates you ;)

Yeah, I must be on my 100+ spawn and I now average atleast 5-6 days alive if I make it past the first 2-3 hours of hardcore scavenging in Cherno/Elektro. But it does make sense :D AJ

Game purchase only with optional DLC in future would work well with me as-well, just don't start getting greedy like other MMO and OVER CHARGE! for everything, keep it fair, keep it simple and please no DLC that give people FUBAR advantages if they pay like £25 for it -_- AJ
