By setting things on low, you are actually causing them to render on you CPU, Arma 2 is odd when it comes to optimizing and only uses the GPU(graphics card) if you put the setting on high or higher. So since arma 2 is cpu intensive, putting settings on low and letting them render on the cpu will actually decrease frames than setting them to high and letting them render on your gpu. :)

Well I was previously playing on 500000 complexity, I have not logged in to check yet because I'm in cherno and I'm scared to die xD so I'm just wondering what sort of results am I going to get having changed the complexity? will it solve my fps problem in the cities a little or what?

My profile was set at 500000 scene complexity, I remember tinkering with it before but not knowing what it did. What sort of changes can I expect now that I set it to 100000? and what's the suggest number to set it to, I want to be able to see people in buildings from 100m away or so. I have an AMD phenom II X6 1045T black edition if that helps, I'm also using RAMDISK and using that to run my @DayZ folder and the Buildings.pbo/buildings2.pbo & structures.pbo from the main directory to attempt to make things load faster. I have 8GB ram and using 1GB for the ramdisk. I get anywhere from 35-90 out of town and in forrests, but as soon as I hit a city like cherno, I'd go to 20 fps and that would slowly degrade until it hit 12 fps. relogging would solve the problem briefly for about 30 minutes before reaching the minimum fps again. I want to try get a sustainable fps of atleast 30 in cherno to be able to play comfortabely, any idea how to achieve it? P.S GPU is a ATI Raedon HD 5700 series.

The game is pretty CPU intensive and optimises in a strange way. In arma 2, when you have the setting to at normal or below, it uses your CPU, if it's high or higher, it render from your graphics card (GPU) Make sure you remove post processing, antiailising and all that too.

3 weeks is a rather long time if you and your squad's main objective while playing is to gear, but still, enjoy the tactical advantage while it lasts! good job!

It only states up to " 94918 New: command unit addMagazine name, ammoCount " what about beta builds after that?

I started using RamDisk and run a 1gb harddrive for the @DayZ folder & some structure/building files so they load instantly, It's helped a small bit but I'm guessing it's mainly processor power =/ My current processor is an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor 2.7GHz I'm guessing it's below mid range tbh.

Yeah I have this issue and so does most the other people I play with. It's a combination of too many zombies/players and buildings in one spot, mainly zombies. After server restarts or if I log on and log out the fps is improve greatly but for a while but eventually it slowly starts deteriorating again, in major cities I mean. In the countryside I have 50-80 FPS but cherno is just 20-30 until it starts hitting the teens and just getting worse the longer I'm there.

I think to survive, a human will do anything and justify it by any means.

It's going to be frustratingly laggy, and don't even think about playing in major cities at all. talking like 5 fps laggy.

Is it bad that I wouldn't care if zombies were removed? They just drop my fps and are a annoying element of gameplay at the moment. I guess there is two options! remove them (which won't happen) or make them harder. Maybe I'm missing the point though, maybe they are supposed to frustrate me.

What's new in this Beta Patch? I don't think I can even find an up to date changelog since 94918. Does anybody know what is going on?

Me and my friends have all noticed big fps improvements. Me personally noticed a 15 fps increase in big cities.

I kill zombies because they want to eat my brains, not for points.

Testing the new beta patch now and my fps has literally doubled.

So what you're saying is, the alpha is a conspiracy and that rocket & co are probably all evil men pushing evil buttons, in an evil cave and you have the foresight to recognise this and jump ship before their evil plan is unveiled?

You need to wait a while, could take up to 5 minutes or so. By the way I'm having an issue that I've recently died twice, but this time I spawned back on a different server and spawned with an m4 ACOG, Ghillie, range finder, gps, NV etc. Why have I got all this great stuff? I literally just spawned. EDIT: relogged and it sorted the problem.

Anybody got any ideas on how to fix the BattleEye problem? Mine keeps saying it's out of date.

Can't get meat from animals or give blood transfusions, I'm guessing something is messed up with performing actions.
