    You can currently respawn while you have a broken leg in 1.7.2.3 so what's the difference, with this change you can still have your 5 hour crawl experiences. It's just giving you the option to respawn with a broken leg, you don't have to.

    This is an interesting quote, maybe it's worth waiting until Monday so rocket has more time to fit in and fix other features. Would give the weekend stable play because patches always have a chance of bugging out which is always good, and the next small hotfix patch could be two weeks away, more content in now to test, the better.

    On the way to countering, the un-confirmed 5 second disconnect timer will be good if it makes it into the patch. The main thing is the beginning of logs for connecting. disconnecting and people who alt-f4, once a database of logs are created, rocket can take that information and create a code that will warn + punish people who abuse alt-f4. It's a learning process, but will get results in the end.

    Now we can speculate whether the Hotfix comes out today or Monday, and we can also speculate whether the aforementioned 5 second disconnect timer will be in since it's not confirmed yet. A compiled list of possible un-confirmed changes would be cool to know, I might go dig through the thread and see what I can find. I seem to remember helicopters being mentioned. Also interested to know if there is going to be any more performance changes and object clean-ups. That cherno fps is a killer.

    I believe the main reason for the 5 second timer is because any longer than that and it creates performance issues.

    This mod is one of those small gems that come around in the gaming community once in a blue moon, my advice would be to enjoy the game for what it is and roll with the changes because this mod is one of those gaming experiences you'll look back on and say "Remember when this game was just a mod, IT WAS GREAT!" and you'll feel all nostalgic even though you're complaining now. Enjoy the ride, adapt and help the process. Enjoy yourself!

    There is ghillie and camo clothing. Also, @Rocket can we get a brief on some of the un-confirmed changes so we can get an idea of the things you're working on. Just to keep the conversation rolling instead of this flame. P.S even though I'm aware of the irony of the statement I just said, It excites me to see new changes.

    Removing the respawn is a great idea when you forget about the convenience factor of choosing a spawn location. When I spawn now, I have no option to pick a better location, I don't think "Hey I'll spawn near electro, quickly loot the houses & supermarket and then run north". The thought process that goes through my head is, "I've spawned, where is the closest food/water source, where do I go from here?", It creates what I'd like to call "The adventure factor" instead of me having a pre-meditated plan based on how efficiently I can gear up. plus, pressing respawn a million times is just as bad as alt-f4 when it comes to the affect they have on taking away from the experience of DayZ.

    Tell us more about these unconfirmed performance issues. I've heard rumors that object clean up is bugged, apparently the strings of code are not being wiped and just build up and cause peoples fps to slowly drop when spending extended periods of time in places like cherno and electro. Is there any intent to try increase performance in places like electro and cherno, is there any known issues about object clean-up? Enlighten me!

    Tell us a little bit about the optimization & updates, and the un-confirmed performance updates. I'm interested to know how my fps is going to be affected(improved?). The most stressful thing while trying to play this game, is that cities cause major fps lag.
  15. Apparently it's to do with object cleanup, apparently it's bugged and not working properly and causes lots of fps issues in places like cherno/electro when you are there for extended periods of time.

    In what sense, less fps lag or latency lag? I wish they would release a change log.
  18. All the servers seem to be down for me and the rest of my clan, so I assume it's a global issue. Anybody know why the servers are down and is there an ETA on them coming back up?

    I suppose this is as good as any place to ask. I've heard rumors that at the moment object clean-up is bugged and that is what is causing massive fps issues to people, specially in major towns over extended periods of time. Is there such thing as object clean-up and is it bugged at the moment? If it is bugged, when's it going to be fixed? I'm just getting stressed over the poor fps in cities, it makes it frustrating to play when you need to adjust to drasticly different frame-rates.

    Yeah my main issue is basicly object cleanup, I guess that's why relogging briefly helps the issue. Thanks for the advice and stuff!
