[/quote'] It's a mod that's caused ARMA to sell better than vanilla ARMA did because there hasn't been mindless wipes. Not to mention, without a spectrum of players to try out patches you will not know what bugs are around. If everyone was wiped this patch and logged in, no one would have known about all of the bugs that this patch brought. What I'm trying to say is, you're an idiot. This is clearly not a normal "Alpha" in that Rocket and especially BIA have a vested interest in making this quite effective. The end goal might be to port to Arma 3 or go stand alone, but it is not to just treat this as a "who gives a shit" testing bed. Bugs and issues are going to happen because that's just what goes down when you're making a mod -- But there won't be intentional "lol fuck you's" dropped on the userbase unless there really has to be to fix some gamebreaking issue.

I don't own a L85 and I think it's a pretty OP weapon that should never have been in the game, however -- It was placed in the game, so they shouldn't just remove it. My problem isn't with the L85 at all though, it's with a dev that doesn't update changelogs, I think I've read a quote from that guy where he said he didn't see the need to or something of that sort. That's the sort of thing an idiot says and I hope Rocket gives him a backhand. Reminds me of the CRPG mod from Warband... If it's just an unintentional bug that's fine, but if that's a genuine policy change then that's worrying.

Considering any vehicles / tents being laid outside the map boundry are now being deleted -- I would say it's pretty vital to rethink the whole tent storage thing. It's a temporary risky storage for "extra stuff", but you'd be a moron to "hide" your things in plain view with so many people online... People could still hunt down subtle soil mounds next to bushes etc but it would not be as stupidly obvious as a tent you can see miles off.

No. When the game releases it will be wiped. Until then it's useless, people are restarting all the time -- If you want a spectrum of different level players for testing patches you will not get that by wiping people. What if the next patch adds a bug that makes it so when you turn on night vision goggles you get an extra pair in your BP? Or the server crashes? Forum warriors and PvE care bears are always after a wipe like it will make them better at the game -- "lets level the playing field guys it's so unfair!!". Guess what, you'll be getting sniped again within a day. Not all of the "super leet" gear in the game is from hackers or duping. Clans raided airfields and crash sites / worked together to get vehicles and used those to access more high loot areas and collect better items. It will happen again and you'll be getting shot again as you shuffle around with your torch. Rocket's well aware that this isn't just "any old alpha", the sales figures for Arma II went up by 500% and while he's free to do what he wants, he's not being reckless. That being said, everyone starting over would be a hilarious 10 minute scene. It would be like battle royal with everyone frantically running to buildings with their torches trailing zombies everywhere until someone finds a gun then doubles back to the beach...

It's not that bad a gun, it's also got the benefit of its ammo being in barns / shops / residential places etc. Zeros out to 800m and if you have range finders, use the "map gps" points or are good at guestimating you can get head shots. It's a 1 hit body kill up close and 2 shots for like 300? 400m+ Killed plenty of people when I had one before I got better.. Granted it's not a DMR or a AS550 or something but I don't think it deserves the hate some people have for it. Sure as shit beats a Winchester.

Maybe he could be doing this up north where people are always going to be tooled up -- But people are plenty tooled up around Cherno, it's not just full of new spawns. I think it was Refried earlier who said he always moves as though he thinks a sniper has him in his sights -- He's a smart man. I play as a sniper too, I try to play it smart, I fight tooled up people and stay in the north, I move about and camp high loot places to scout them out for periods too. And the times I've died to players is when I let my guard down -- Completely my own fault. Everyone can die in this game, there's plenty of things out of your control (bugs / hackers especially) including "shit happened" some guy could log in and happen to be behind you. But you can do your best to minimize that from happening to a point where it's very unlikely.
