does alt f4 save your life?

-Sometimes the servers do not save properly and you'll find yourself maybe seconds before you died when logging into another server, just like inventory not saving when you log on another server. -Call friend, friend bandages / blood bags / epi pens you -- Victory. -Otherwise, you die.. But you die on a server where you shouldn't have and run back to loot your body. -Worst case scenario, you die but the guy killing you doesn't get your loot. None of this should be allowed. Alt+F4 breaks the game, it takes away a lot of fear which is what this game should be giving people. It's removing their risk in a game all about "risk / reward" balance. There's very few consequences to your actions. Zombies can no longer kill you, only 50 cal bandits or anyone headshotting you -- But you can still deny them your loot. It's a shame too, do you know how heart pumping a pvp / pve situation can be in a perma death game? Proper fire fights where you have to kill or run away, use tactics, be brave, freak out etc. None of that happens for most people... someone's there, shoot, i missed LOG OUT. Oh no I agrod a zombie in town do I shoot? no log out. -

Pretty happy with the current setting. These sort of forests scream "survivalist" to me, it's rugged. If it was loads larger and has some mountain ranges / snow / a big city too I really would not be upset. I really hope it won't be the greek island, that would be horrendous, the landscape is a shambles. Desert too... Canada could be cool -

I was on a FR server during the night before as a fresh spawn. I had my torch, bandage and painkillers. I toddled into the airport at balota and it was pretty clear someone was there before me, so I was stalking around -- Well I found the guy in a hanger behind a metal cargo container. He was armed with an M4 and started firing rounds at me all panicky. "oh snap", I flashed my torch in his face to blind him and ran around the container to get cover. Then I saw there was a shotgun on the floor behind him, after a little bit of sneaking I'd gotten behind him he stopped moving and panic firing now though -- I was about to pick up the shotgun and then I got kicked off of the server... ...I guess I got meta-Alt+F4'd?? For shame. I had a fricking torch. People log out for ANYTHING now, because nothing's stopping them. 1x zombie agrod? Log out, takes 5 seconds. see someone? log out.. wait, take a shot first if they don't die then log out -- no risk, everything to gain! Sure is a hardcore game when you can log out from anything PVE or PVP related that's able to actually kill you. It's a small wonder anyone dies... -
If you want adrenaline don't log out.

Until Rocket decides that he is wrong and to actually fix this issue, it will be the plague of Dayz. Waiting until standalone is too far away, how about no more "attack dogs" and "bear traps" and "underground super bunker bases"? How about we just have people deal with the repercussions that the game intended instead of pressing disconnect to avoid any threat in this "hardcore" game? Even World of Warcraft makes you wait to log out and deal with whatever problems you made... -

On the odd occasion you do get a "proper" fire fight, it's so adrenaline pumping. People go through all the emotions because it's perma death and so much is on the line, you get people panicking wanting to run away using tactics etc. It's... god forbid, fun. -

Apparently when the zombie apocalypse comes IRL and the big bad evil zombies are about to ravage you, or the murderous squads of psychopaths are about to execute you the ultimate survival plan is to "disconnect". Good to know... -

Player vrs player kills are actually on a decrease if you look at the stats and account for a fraction of player related deaths. "out of hand" is somewhat dramatic a statement... -

Plan your route so you won't have to moan that a sniper killed you. Clicking a waypoint on the map and then running over hills and open ground without considering high population spots, loot spots, potential survivors paths, sniper spots etc is not "planning a route". -

You're easily pleased. The AK74 is a heap of shit. It's got the crap power of an M16 with none of the accuracy or silencer / grenade launcher / acog gadgetry.I would say, the worst assault rifle available. Especially for PvP. Take the AKM, one of the best PvP non sniper weapons, you should be using your primary for nothing but PvP and your 2ndry for zombie clean up even if you don't ever intend murdering people.

Was at the NW airfield and the server was timing out with the "waiting" in red number count down thing. Logged off, logged on another server and I was teleported to a new player spawn just west of Elektro with all of my equiptment etc... -

Logged out a few times now and logged back in with equipment i had maybe 30 minutes before logging out and not the stuff I'd acquired after -- which is a little annoying. Not sure what's causing it, had debug moniter etc... Beta patch 94876 -

Servers need to be regulated

Dayz server uses 20TB/month, that went up 4x with the 1.7.2 patch, coupled with a desynch issue linked to holding alt. As with any multiplayer game with user hosted servers, there's many which are hosting slots well above their capability -- This latest patch brought that to view. I can play on my own fine, it's the synchronizing with others that is the problem... In a PvP game where aiming has to be pinpoint? Hrm. -
