I killed someone today(couldn't be reasoned with) and as I was looting his body it just dissapeared. All I got off of him was his M4A1; by the time I could click anything else it vanished and removed me from the gear menu.

One of my first days playing DayZ; I cam across a two guys with a car. I was chilling inside the market when they pulled up- one stayed in the car and the other came in. He was sporting an M14. I was behind the counter when he spotted me.I was unarmed and I called out friendly, to which he simply replied: "Don't fucking move." He fires. The shot misses me and I freak out and duck into the back room. It's then that I notice there's a fresh kill behind me; a survivor with an axe. He just saved my life. He comes into the back room with me and we shoot the shit for awhile, I thank him and offer him some supplies to show my gratitude. He says "Actually, me and my pal are heading up north. We could use a third." He then set an m1911 on the ground in front of me. I then went on a romp up north that made me fall in love with this game.

Easier than making a makeshift flamethrower, make a pipebomb. Or a nutbuster made from a shotgun shell, or a functioning shotgun made only with a pipe and nail. There's lots of things you could make simply and reasonably. Makeshift. If there were some kind of building system I would find the idea more approachable, but there isn't. So unless that becomes an inplemented feature- I don't think makeshift weapons have much place.

You lose blood. If you don't drink or eat- it will eventually kill you.

I would be against it simply for the fact Nope. They're no longer 'legal' weapons to carry into battle. They can however be made/manufactured for civilian recreation. I think a flamethrower just doesn't fit the game. It's something you'd be unlikely to find in general, and unable to find militarily. It's an overkill weapon.

Then hopefully some day we can (not)meet, and avoid eachother. haha

Props to you for having a reasonable form of conduct. I hope we can meet up one day, and have a tense social situation. See where it goes from there.

Gotta love some SOAD. I don't play music most of the time I play, but when I'm out kickin' it as a bad ass lone wolf I blare some Rammstein.

I analyze the area first. I have had a multitude of traps sprung on me while investigating a body. I'll usually loot it if I have someone to cover me; as for coming back for it; no I usually won't. Usually.

I've had my moments of absolute frustration from Pking; then again- I've had badass moments where I give it back to a group of bandits via some good ol' Stanag ammunition. The constant paranoia a gunshot creates is just wonderful. Keep your senses keen, and your gun up. Good luck out there.

My first murder was an accident. A guy had helped me get geared up as a general noob, as we moved out towards the hospital in Cherno, a zombie came running up at him. Eager to defend my new friend; I raised my double barrel and fire at the zombie. I had pellets loaded- I skimmed the zed and completely dropped my pal. I began freaking out over direct chat. "OH GOD NOOOOOOOOO!" -run around in circles out of panic "OH MAN, OH MAN....MAYBE HE'S STILL ALIVE" -nope; full on dead- OH SHIT OH SHIT I'M SOOOOO SORRY; I NEVER WANTED THIS!" All of my carrying on attracted some zombies and I had to flee. I felt awful that my poor ammo choice had cost me a friend.

You shouldn't log out with a concussion. Don't do that, and you won't have that problem.

Just today I came across at least 4 different friendlies in cherno; in each instance we sat down for a bit, traded stories, and then went on our seperate ways. 3 asked me to join them; I declined each and went on my merry way. You never know what you'll get out of people, or what could incite violence in them. Just gotta roll the dice and have fun. Odd day in Cherno though; that's for sure.

I like having nice guns, but I always get overwhelming paranoia when I'm running about with them. An FN-FAL on your back might as well be a glowing target.

The sigh at the end really sends the message home. The message being "My brains are now fertilizing the grass."

I like the idea because a guy like me wouldn't fire on someone who is willingly assuming a 100% vulnerable position. Not everyone is a guy like me though- and I have a feeling that most surrenders would just yield defenseless fatalities.

That depends on how comfortable you are with your gear, and what you intend to do with it. Sometimes it's nice to be able to really suppress the shit out of a sniper with a machinegun while your buddy flanks around, and who doesn't love getting to pop an m203 flare in the night sky?

Imagine it as getting whacked as hard as you could be in your temple. Good ol' sucker punch.
