  1. As in Camo/Ghillie suits? They look like a manilla paper bag wrapped in string. They stand out.

    The Day Z hidden agenda

No, it's just a complex survey to see whether people prefer pepsi or coke.

    Lone Wolf VS Group Poll

Group. I can still have fun being a lone wolf, but in a group your ass is covered, and you feel much safer. Groups tend to have more ambition for getting a particular set of goals done simply because of there being more people(Dur, really?) and that's nice too.

Some minor changes to improve (re)playability

heli crash sites are rare, and I've come across plenty with viable loot on a server that's been up for quite a time. I don't believe this merits change. More vehicles would be nice, I'm not against the idea but more vehicles brings more stress on the server. As for vehicles despawning after x amount of time not being used- they already do that. Making it so that vehicles just vanish after a few hours without someone in them is less realistic then they are in their current state. Plenty of servers I've seen reset at the onset of their night cycle. I would like to see that changed. As for the viability to see in darkness, you don't have to turn your brightness up or anything. You have a flashlight. Illuminating your position is dangerous, but it gives you visibility. That's the point. Spawning in more NVGs makes no sense. Night vision is treasured because it's rare AND useful, unlike mountain dew. Again, killing is too grey to define black and white like this. If you're forced to kill a group of freshly spawned bandits who attempt to kill you, all the sudden- you're the bandit with the bounty. There shouldn't be visible or game changing action taken against bandits. Guess what? In real life, it's easier to be an asshole to get what you want than it is to be charitable and kind. So this holds true to our nature in game, methinks. As for hackers; if a game exists- there will be hackers. That's life.

    Screw this game.

You shouldn't have run away and logged out. That would have saved you from this whole scare. You should have listened for where the gunfire came from, and made an effort to either circumvent the source or to engage it.
  6. Learn topography. The map is still one of the biggest advantages when paired with the compass. Get a GPS, and you're golden anyhow.
  7. The act of having bags within bags is referred to as 'Bagception'
  8. No, you cannot. There is no way to transport a pack save for ditching your current one and bringing the one you want to a person/place of storage

    Winchester or Lee Enfield? [POLL]

I prefer the Winchester personally. It's quieter, and still has a very respectable effective range. Moreso, it's just a good looking weapon. I exude class when I carry it.

    Putting Together a New Group

Bah fuck I knew I'd have to weigh in at some point. I am an advocate of neutrality; I will state that first. I enjoy playing the game. I do like to go on survivor runs like Cav. I also like to maintain functionality like Ray. I play, and I have fun. When shit hit the fan as it were- I remarked to Jay that even getting the camp compromised was it's experience, albeit a challenge and eventual 'loss' as it were. It was still something. Aside from being ghosted by the truck-jacker, I found it to be completely in sync with what to expect in the situation. I gave Ray my beans because there is truth in his post. That is not to say it is my expressed word for word opinion, but there is truth to it, and that's why I liked it. Things needn't be taken so personally. The Cherno story is not true to the actuallity of how it occured, but it was a story that highlighted a moment in Dayz. I liked that as well. In reality one of ours was shot at by the church, and the illumination of the truck did result in the truck taking light arms fire from an unknown indivual. All in all, I don't care. Some stories need zest, but it's true that we have names that would be worth mentioning. We aren't your men, and you aren't ours. We're survivors. That's my two cents. I don't have the drive to post to the extent that the discussion could possibly merit, so from here on I'm tuned out. In the end we do what we do, and all we can do is plug on.

5 Minute DC Timer too much?

    What productive insight and opinions.

Not playing DayZ until it's fixed.

It's a game. You test it by playing it. Semantics, nothing more.

Apply one of the most revered traits of our species. Adapt.

where the duck do people find weapons

You can find guns ALL OVER THE PLACE. You simply have to look.
  17. LockeDown

    !Important Look!

You do realize by 'fixing' that problem you create different ones? And it is not hard to find a gun. At all.
  18. LockeDown

    !Important Look!

Yes they are, and yes they do. You start on the coast. You begin moving towards town. when your invulnerability expires, your ass is far more likely to be gunned down by someone else who has been coastal through their duration as well. Why? Because they have a gun immediately, and that allows PKing on the coast to occur more easily.
  19. LockeDown

    !Important Look!

Wrong board, first off. As for the ideas. Starting with a weapon allows for certain PK playstyles. The log out penalty isn't a great idea either. What defines combat/contact? Someone is watching you nearby, but you're not aware. That would still be contact- suddenly you can't leave the game, and you have no idea why. You become trapped. Being invulnerable at the start is just weak. Under no circumstance should this occur.
  20. LockeDown

Has the game ever walked you off a roof?

Been there, done that. I've also had my key stick and merrily walked off an edge. I've just tried to stay a reasonable distance from the edge when I have to prone out.
  21. LockeDown

Being nice is not rewarding -.-

When you 'sneak up' on anyone; you should expect to get popped.
  22. LockeDown

    Self Transfusions

It's something that forces you to interact with other people; it's a very good game mechanic, and it doesn't take that long to restore blood through food. Find a hunting ground and go to town on it. That said; (Realism buff) There is no way in hell you could manage to give yourself a transfusion. Keep your senses keen, and good luck out there.
  23. I've had that happen before too; same set of circumstances pretty much. In the end; don't get attached to your gear. You WILL lose it one way or another.
