That's because there is very little that can be done about it at this point. Pretty much the entire idea of a hacker is someone who works around the system instead of going through it. For now, the best thing to do when you encounter a hacker is just change servers. Don't rage, don't hunt them. Don't give them the rush and gratification they desire. They want a reaction. Don't give them one. You lost your gear? Well, time to find new gear. Just keep pluggin' on.

That exact thing? Not many. Mass hacks where the entire server/room gets fucked over? Plenty.

You spent cash on Arma. You didn't pay a red cent for DayZ.

If a game exists; it will be hacked. Everyone hates it, but the moaning and bitching about it when it's been discussed that this is a BE issue, not a DayZ issue will do no good. If anything; some punk ass hacker will probably read this and laugh giddily knowing that he's gotten so deep under your skin.

I used to be all about night servers, but I've found myself coming back to the day servers craving friendly interaction in Cherno and Elektro.(ie: some part of my psyche wants to see me die.)

I don't mind when a bandit's blunder leads to their demise. What irks me is when someone instigates a firefight that you pretty much win; so they alt-f4 before they die.

I love explosives, and the M136 is the closest thing a guy like me has to an 'EndGame' If I have that, something with a 203 launcher, and an inventory stuffed with grenades- I will have achieved true nirvana.

The other day I had a run in with...Well; authoritarians is a better description than bandits. I was in the market in Elektro with another survivor I had met. We had been trying to get out of the market for awhile, but a steady influx of zed and continuous gunfire in the city kept us farely stuck. Finally, it got to the point where we could get out. We darted over to the house across the street from the school and start checking it for loot. Then I hear this. "This is Seal Team Six; drop your weapons now or we will open fire." I didn't see anyone so I pressed up against the wall. "I'm afraid I can't oblige. I need my weapon to survive." I call back. Seal Team calls out a few more orders at us, none of which we follow. Then, on the second floor of the school I see someone's head peak over. I duck myself back out of view; steel up, and turn to begin engaging. I managed to fire off a couple shots that landed, but my opponents had bigger guns and took me down in a hurry. I saw one of them die after me, but I don't know if it was from my shots or my friend takin' it to 'em. Point is, it was a fucking blast. Those are the interactions I crave in DayZ.

I pick up pepsi for myself, and give coke to my group if they need a drink.

I don't know how many heli crashes there are per server. They are not on the same location server to server; save for coincidence. Heli crashes respawn in new spots when the server resets.

You can't get in trouble for using a hacked gun n' such so long as you weren't the one who spawned it in. That said; people who see you with a hacked gun are most likely going to assume you've attained it through illegitimate means and could judge you thusly. I personally just don't bother with hacked gear, I toss it aside.

I want a Guile suit too. Street Fighter is awesome.

The standalone will be the biggest 'fix' to the hacker problem. If you want a game with absolutely no hackers; play a board game. Because that's the only thing that is 100% secure.

For some people. I still find plenty of merriment whether I'm geared out rockin' it up north or naked on the coast. As for basics, play the ARMA tutorials to familiarize yourself with the basic game mechanics.
