Yup you're right, don't take risks with big cities. after you finally got some gear it's too risky to enter a main city and getting killed by some newly spawned player killing you with his makarov. But you need matches to cook meat right? are matches re-usable since you can only carry one pack.

nice find mate, I started playing about 4 days ago and just like you aswell found empty cans to be junk. But here is my question, how do you ''use'' a tin can to throw? because just like the flares and chemlights i know they can be thrown but I always try to equip them but 9/10 times i fail to use them.

Actually you can chat in-game, just hold caps lock and you can speak with your microphone but this can only be heared by the people who are near you. chatting can still be done to some proportion just tap , or . to switch channel and press / to type even thought i'm noot quite sure who can read thos chats but typing is rarely done:)

First of, there are no maps on which you can see people like playing FPS shooters:P but when you find a map somewhere in town you can't see other people on it. They only thing you might see are notes made by other people which are marked with an X. But be carefull, the marks you put on the map can be viewed by anyone who looted a map.

I was playing the game with a friend of mine (we just started playing the game) and after a while we got the hang of it. After dying quite a lot we met up in elektro after about 5 hours. I was already there and trapped on the roof of the firestation with some zombies below me, he was still on his way so I was waiting for him but since i got bored i walked on the roof for a bit and fell off and died -.- but no worries I luckily spawned next to elektro and got back on the roof again waiting for him. When he finally arrived we sat on top of the roof, while he quickly let a friend out I alt + tabbed the game and put on some music this only took like 2 min in which he came back and he said he heared some gunshots when he approached his game and he died so I thought he was playing a trick on me and went back in game and I was dead aswell. So this had teached us that someone always should stay guard :P

Hey guys, I came across the dayz mod and it just looks great and really promising but since i don't have Arma I was wondering if it's worth it to buy the game just to play dayz? Please share your thoughts on this :)

Cheers guys for all the feedback, I admit I wasn't quite sure wheter to buy the game or not but since i read around the forums I harldy read anything negative about the game/mod so I bought it :) So who knows maybe our paths will cross in game!

Thanks for all the great and fast feedback! It certainly sound interesting and what i've seen so far in movies it looks great. But what exactly happens when you die? I know you lose all the stuff you had in your backpack, but what is when you are playing with a bunch of people or friends and one of you die? do you spawn in the beginning and you have to find your way back to your friend or do you spawn near them? because it would suck if you roamed around with your friends for a while and then you die and you have to pretty much start over all on your own.
