Man, i'm buying standalone. I will happily pay to play this game, DayZ a little shinier? Yes please. I just hope they get hackers under control and for the love of god, we need more Australian servers LOL!

I played most of the new maps. Lingor is cool. Namalsk is unique but I don't like it very much, it just feels very dull and boring. Panthera is probably my favourite, big focus on player interaction/pvp and looks awesome. Didn't try the others but definately play Panthera if pvp is your thing.

I hope so, sometimes it's nice to trade out the familiar terrain of chernarus for some tropical island or apocalyptic wasteland.

I usually can't hear most vehicles before they're very close to me....

All I ever find on crash sites is the FAL... but usually if I find a Bizon with some ammo and I have space i'll backpack it just to shoot some zombies if I get bored.

Havn't seriously played on a pub hive in ages, mainly because nobody seems to host to Australia anymore, seriously there is a very little amount of Aus servers, I honestly could probably type in au to the filter and count the Aus servers on my fingers. Stuck playing random private hives until standalone. Hate it.

I really enjoy reading about tech like that lol, not sure if it suits DayZ but I see where you're coming from with the suggestion.

If you care about surviving, avoidance is a good tactic.

I don't know how well I can explain this but when you go through your hard disk into your steam folders and whatnot (i'm sure there are videos on how to get there) you just go into your arma 2 folder, find the folder named addons and copy it across to your arma 2 combined ops.

I heard that the devs are pretty confident that the hacking in standalone will be locked down. As for the mod, play private hives lol.

Try different servers, turn down your settings, google how to change your config file to increase fps if you have to, shadows disabled, stop programs in background, do a re-install to clean up game files, ran out of things to say.

And I take it you also get kicked from servers with deleted .chernarus? Try copying your addons folder from arma 2 into your operation arrowhead.

Interesting indeed, looking into it now, might even get my friends on, seems like a server that could lead to some interesting fights.

Pretty sure as you're running away you can hear the zombies eating him, I suppose he got knocked out.

On the water/food situation I usually carry 2 waterbottles and maybe 2 or 3 cans of food, usually don't run out. When raiding the arifield everyone sais take it slow but I personally do it rather quickly but always scanning as i'm running, never run in the open for very long.

Don't remember the very first time I saw another player but the one time that I do remember prolonged player contact was I saw a guy moving around the barns in Prigorodki so I moved in with my ak trained on him, hid behind a mound of dirt and asked friendly, by this time his friend had come out of a barn and they were both standing outside looking for me, when they found me we stood there facing eachother for a few seconds and I was asking about what their plans were. They shot me as I asked if they needed any supplies. That was when I learned it's best to either leave groups of players alone or simply kill them on sight because if they're in TS or skype chances are they have no intention of teaming up with you.

Some nice person should totally do a wallpaper of the shot at 3:57 for me....

Well i'll refer to them as friendlies in the sense that they didn't kill me when they easily could have in my weakened state but the last time I ran into "friendlies" was just the other night. I was just west of Lopatino in a small forest with my high end kit, broken legs (no morphine) and a tractor i stole off the group that caused said fracture. So I was headed to Berezino, looking ridiculous in my tractor when I hear another engine on my right and a uaz comes across the field I was driving through and proceeds to do circles around me honking his horn, they drove around me a little, followed me laughing all the way then drove off leaving me so glad that the tractor was hiding my coyote pack, also at the time one shot from almost any gun would have done me in.

Would love to give away locations that i've found usefull but unfortunately as others have said i'm still using them.

Not sure if you guys would ever have had a look at the navigator (Hope you havn't) but I've had people on my skype contacts watch a worrying amount of people go straight to spawned vehicles or other concealed players. More people use the navigator than I first thought, it's actually a bigger problem to me right now than the scripters.

Made me laugh, watching a fresh spawn run along the coast will never be the same again.
