That's a pretty shitty idea.

I think this a good idea, and I though of this before myself. If any of you have played Fallout, than that's how it could operate. This is something they should SERIOUSLY consider because guns are practically a dime a dozen and they should either more difficult to find, or harder to maintain. I don't know if "cleaning" is the way you would maintain the firearm, but something along those lines. Far Cry is also a good example.

There are a few issues here... 1. Like someone mentioned, your murders and kills and all that reset when you die. 2. Although I discourage it, people should be able to shoot and kill who, or what ever they want, because that's one of the great freedoms of this game. Bandits shouldn't be penalized for, well, being bandits. 3. Guns should be something you need to find, not something EVERY player has. It makes the game more dynamic and it's far more realistic. I a real zombie apocalypse not everyone would have a gun. In fact, I believe firearms should be more difficult to locate, making them a more treasured and valuable item. 4. I don't think arming new players is a good idea any ways...

Me and my friends are veterans at the dayz mod and have acquired almost everything could possible want in terms of equipment and weapons. Soon we're going to try to find and repair a vehicle (preferably a helicopter). What experiences have you guys had with helicopters and other vehicles? Are they extremely difficult to get running and under control? Please share some of your experiences.

It's not that simple. You can't just grab any old suppressor and whip it on any gun you find. Some guns can't even be suppressed...

I wasn't even aware that the helicopters (or all vehicles?) were removed.

maybe you're group should give people a chance? I belong to a group of veteran players armed to the teeth (I'm the sniper in our group), and the only time we EVER shoot on sight is when someone is at the barracks and they come face to face with another player. Other than that we give 'em a chance because they could become a great addition to our group. I believe in trying to maintain survival for all players. Even if it means I have to give items to stranger for them to survive.

This is cool idea, but it would work best if they only went to the airfields. Because so many people are always there because of the amazing desirable loot, it would be a good deterrent from that area. You know, make the airfields more of a dangerous place (not like it isn't already). It should be very uncommon though.
