City and Town Lighting
CHOSENMARINE replied to xTLRxPrototype (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I can easily see generators being in Dayz in the future. It would be really cool to have generators powering lights and who knows what. But powering street lights? That seems a little strange to me, you probably couldn't do that in real life, the're probably powered underground from somewhere. And it's not like they have light switch or something lol. Generators powering small lights, or maybe even lamps that would stay lit for long periods of time would be great for camps. -
Lighting Buildings/Camps/Players on fire with matches.

no. There would be nothing left in about 5 days of the server being up. -
Do you know how to operate an APC? I don't, and I'm sure nobody in a post soviet civilian area would know either.

I can't see someone staying in a pant suit and maybe high heels? but I know you mean, sure.
-
I don't think so

Because it isn't fitting in a zombie apocalypse.

Like the secretary, some of these don't make sense. But new skins/clothing will be in dayz, don't you worry. Especially if it moves to Arma 3.

"saved/Unsaved" needs to come back!!!
CHOSENMARINE replied to austendude's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
strange, I was never aware of this issue. This has never happened to me. That I know of. -
First, I have been playing for a long time, and I have never seen a zombie drop a gun. Also, you can't eat zombie flesh, how would that make any sense? And I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do with a dog pelt in Dayz.
-
And there already is a dog model isn't there? This wouldn't be too hard for the designers.
-
I don't know why people are saying the zomb dogs would drop something... Their dogs! They can't carry stuff!
-
LOLOL people have voted each spawn place once (when I made this comment)
-
they would still do it...

Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I have never seen this topic. Dean Hall already stated companions will likely be a future implication. Riding a horse would be very cool, and offer many advantages: - have the convenience of a car but it wouldn't need gas - all terrain (grass, pavement, forest, even large buildings) - you would look totally bad ass But there would be some draw backs as well: - needs food and water - could get hurt or killed - easy target for bandits, depending on where you ride it I could see this being a real challenge for the developers, but it would make perfect sense. They would spawn in barns, and are rare. Thoughts? suggestions?

^ does anyone know how to make images actually appear on screen in stead of being a link??

Discourage Player Killing Suggestion
CHOSENMARINE replied to Stalbos's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Players shouldn't be punished for being a bandit, that's just a part of the game. But I do think something should be done to give survivors a warning, or something of that nature. -
sometimes it's just the server. I have a custom built desk top and sometimes I'll 15FPS, sometimes I'll get 50FPS.

Terrified in my first 10 minutes

yup, life on beach front property in Dayz. -
I love his videos!

not just some people, many.

Another good thing to keep in mind, consider where you are on the map and the situation. I treat unarmed people on the coast way differently then someone I come face to face with in the barracks. At the barracks I , unfortunately, shoot on sight if I have a good shot and everything. But that's not the kind of player I usually am. Usually I try and help people out, or avoid them. I have been shot on sight for no reason at all enough times to know how much it sucks, so I try not to do it.

You sound like a smart player, especially for being a n00b. There's something you should now about Dayz though. The average Dayz person you encounter will be the weirdest, stupidest person you ever met (this is assuming you are on the coast though). A lot of player contact you'll have will end up with yourself being shot and you have no idea how, or even where he was. I once met a guy on the coast in the Electro fire hall. He wasn't talking at all and he seemed like a sketchy character. At the time I was definitely packin'. I had a gillie suit and a DMR, with other goodies. Any ways, He took his hatchet out so I assumed he was friendly. After trying to make contact A LOT, he just went off and started looting like I wasn't even their. Then out of nowhere I hear him say "hello". I was glad to hear him speak and walked face to face with him. I told him I could hear him, and I wanted to know if he would like to trade. After starring at me for along time, he began attacking me with his hatchet! I wasn't expecting this, and for some reason I though I needed to switch to my pistol to shoot him. By the time I got it out and fired on him a few times, we both died! Never trust people EVER. Especially if they aren't speaking!
