    I would like a way to clear towns, but for like base/fort building, so I can build my noob oasis in electro. (have loot spawning minimized or turned off of course)

    CryEngine 3 - Possible?

    I heavily doubt that Rocket's going to move to the Cry engine anytime soon, it would be really nice, however, is there a way to implement an inventory system within CryEngine? What about handheld/throwable lights? I have almost no idea what the capabilities are of this engine, so don't freak, but does it do everything he wants it to do, and it has to do it well. You have to think economically as well, they charge for that engine, according to previous posts a good 20% in royalties as well. There's really two factors the way I see it. 1. Does it do everything I need it to? 2. Do I make less or more money? There's a third but is dependent on work ethic and other stuff. The third factor being time, as building it on a new engine from the ground up may take time.

    You love your caps lock don't you :|. Also, on topic, I would agree normally, but I just thought for a second, you wanna get past some zombies? Sneak, kill, or get some friends to shoot them with you. Actually, since their sight is degraded, all you'd need to do is really is spray yourself with the infected scent? Maybe it could be an EXTREMELY rare find on crashed helicopters. It would read; "Virus/Parasite/Infected Sample" The idea could be that the military managed to get a sample and were flying it out and crashed for whatever reason.

    They're not synced? They were when me and my friend were playing... But anyway, yes they're almost useless, unless you're coordinating something, meaning that solo players have almost no use for them, other than timing how fast they can move. It's not like time really matters, all that matters is; A. it's getting morning, good B. It's day, awesome C. it's getting dark, better hurry D. It's night (depending on the moon), a1: well fuck me a2: not too bad.

    So wait... you have to wait thirty minutes AFTER you disconnect for the ghost mode to be enabled... Oh, that's a big time improvement, but you also have to think, disconnecting and reconnecting in the middle of a city is a bad idea, so going to the woods and doing this is much smarter, thus eliminating ghost mode's need, unless you just spawned on the coast, but even that's easy.

    Spawning with a Crowbar

    Just finding weapons is easy enough without spawning with one. I'm sure the crowbar will have it's use eventually, mind you if I just respawned and I found a crowbar before a hatchet, I'm taking the sucker.

    Vehicle scavenging in DayZ.

    Not quite totally original, as there's been a thread or two about looting ambulances, however, I agree entirely with looting vehicles for parts and equipment. I do have one idea though, what if you had all the parts for a vehicle? Fuel tank, engine parts, windscreen glass, 4 wheels, and scrap metal, and rotor assembly for helicopters, should we be able to fully repair any old vehicle that takes it's respective parts that we find, regardless of what loot's there? Maybe it could be transferred into the vehicles gear cache? And when that vehicle is destroyed it respawns somewhere else as a wreck? Just an idea here.

Alright, I'm fine with good ideas for fixing D/Cers however, the key binding thing would be interesting, if it's a non-configurable bind for the respawn button, and if it asked "would you like to respawn? Yes/No" As well as a Timer till you die to respawn that can be canceled and same for just disconnecting regularly. As for your bandit solution, no, no paranoia, no increased hunger, no hallucinations, no damn punishments. You have a problem with bandits? Hunt them down and make them eat dirt, in a real apocalypse, no god is going to show up and say; "oh, you shoot people, well you're fucked now buddy". Stop asking for punishments, all these damn idiots who run around getting shot are getting annoying, fight the bandits! You spent the time getting the gear, now use it! The bandits are doing exactly that, and I'm not talking about people who KoS just for loot and safety, those are survivors, and they're surviving, I'm talking about those snipers you see killing everyone in sight, because it's fun. I'm talking about the guys who blew through town in a UAZ honking away and aggroed every last zombie on you. They piss you off? Fight them! Make them sorry the tried to screw with you!

    DayZ FOR XBOX 360!!

    Reasons why it wouldn't work: 1. The console isn't powerful enough, maybe the new Xbox, but doubtful. 2. The controller simply doesn't have enough buttons atleast, without being reduced a large amount, or without some VERY good planning and mapping, but even then it may be complicated. 3. The game is in alpha, a very unstable and buggy alpha. 4. This is a HARDCORE game for HARDCORE gamers, how many HARDCORE gamers are there that are A: not lying B: not just trying to be cool C: doesn't play CoD, Halo, or Viva Pinata specifically because it's the only good game ever and the company who made it is the only good one, they're very few and far between on consoles now a days.

    Nope, nope nope nope nope nope... Nope, useless, if a vehicle was 100 meters away from you, you better be smart enough to see it, or else you don't deserve it, go into the armory for Arma and spawn a car, then walk 100 meters away, it'll show you the distance. It's not very far, it's like the distance between electro hospital and the office building.

    When's the last time you've been seen spawning, seriously. You have the same amount of chance to get spotted anyway, being D/Ced and reconnecting makes almost no difference. Plus, this could be abused big time. You could just walk into cherno, get shot at, disconnect and reconnect, and if your assailant was still around, shoot him, so no.

    So like a stryker with no ammo... You're in an ex-russian country, the fact that you find an M16, M107, and a huey is nothing short a of a miracle as it is.

    If you want classes and stuff like that, go check out The War Z, it's DayZ but as an MMORPG and not just an MMO, classes will not happen here.

    DayZ already has an endgame

    I've thought about using tanks and APCs in DayZ, but I deemed it a bad idea considering the scarcity and relative low damage of the launcher currently. However, if the parts to repair said tanks and APCs are scarce enough, that creates a balance, then we bring in ammo for all the guns, then we bring in base and bunker construction above and below ground, along with a larger amount a vehicles, say, 20-60 per server, the number of course is configurable. Once we've out down campfires, we acquire spotlights, deployable machine guns, a power grid, portable generators, and the radio. Maybe even container crates instead of tents that hold twice as much! Maybe that An-2 biplane could be added, or hell maybe an EXTREMELY rare mortar, 0.0001% spawn chance on crashed helicopters. But with all this we may need a larger map. My random ideas aside, I completely agree with every last thing you said, I want this game to be fun, but brutal, almost on par with IWBTG, but without the cheap deaths. Food is easy to stockpile, fighting zombies is easy with a hatchet, water and drinks are everywhere, ammo and weapons aren't too hard to find either, if we constrain these, zombies will be slightly more difficult, but they need to be harder, maybe 2-3 hits with a hatchet, and like 5 rounds with an AKM to kill in the chest. Let's make the zombies evil, and make teamwork your best friend.
