Where have you found your NVG's?
vukster@gmail.com replied to hemp0325's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Object A2 -
I really don't understand what causes a bike or car, or even helicopter to suddenly repair after you exit and re enter the vehicle. Is this normal or something is broken? Usually if I hit the wheel of a bike and exit then get back on the bike the damage is gone. Last night I landed a helicopter a bit too harsh and saw some yellow and orange damage indicators, yet when I exited to refill jerry cans and entered the choppper again the damage was GONE! I was running around trying to find scrap metal only to find my chopper fully repaired.... Is this intended or a bug?

Night time should be toned down
vukster@gmail.com replied to dulix11's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
what you really want is bounce lighting or global illumination. Good luck keeping the game real time!!! -
although the tool box is a way to get rid of wires it is incredibly clunky to awkward to use, maybe a better option might be wire cutters and not a toolbox.

Long Term Survival & 6 Rules To Keep You Alive!
vukster@gmail.com replied to LtKillerSAS's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
most people avoid night time like the plague. Dark servers are typically low population. If you want gear from the big towns, hassle free, then night time is your best friend. Learn to use chemlights, guns with flashlights like the g17 and the shotgun and you won't need goggles or gamma. Flares are also a great way to distract zombies and blind those pesky NVG snipers. -
Has anyone seen this before???

You realize that DAYZ is an MMO right ? The idea behind this is to actually encourage team play. Clearly if that is not your goal maybe this is not the right game for you. -

Demystification of the DayZ loot spawn system [SPOILER]
vukster@gmail.com replied to insitv's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So what happens over time as more and more loot is generated but not consumed? Is there a threshold? Do items disappear or are they eventually replaced? I know sometimes if I loot a store, with no other players around, and I move to another building, then come back to the store, some of the items have changed. It's possible that another player was nearby but this behavior happens even when I'm the only person on a server. This is usually how I find maps when there are no maps in the store by default. If I come back after 10 minutes, the map usually spawns. So while I wait for this cycle I run and loot other buildings. -
download dayz commander then install Namalsk. (dayz commander has the option it's as easy as clicking a button) Search for Namalsk only servers.

blind login to servers
vukster@gmail.com replied to vukster@gmail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The idea is that you would NEVER know the total number of players, the server is either available, empty or full, that is all the information that a new fresh spawn should have. A list of players in game should NOT be displayed at all, the ONLY time this list would populate is when you actually ENCOUNTER that said player, once you see him then you are aware of their existence. I think the whole philosophy of day z should be "if a tree logs into a server and no one is around to see it, did it log in?" See no evil, hear no evil, log no evil. -
I think it would really help to feel isolated more if the game did NOT report how many people are playing on the servers at all. You join servers blind without knowing if the server is empty or full. Pros / cons? discuss...
