Earlier this year I bought a Mosin Nagant and decided to start making some videos comparing DayZ guns to the real deal. Now that its cold outside and I'm done filming for the year I thought I would post what I've got so far here. Thank you for watching! See you next spring! Since I had quite a few wallpapers going up in the gallery in multiple posts, I thought I'd start a forum thread. Preface: I'm not a graphic artist, photographer or anything of the sort. Just a dude that enjoys "junking up" some nice screen shots. I'm using paint.net with a few extra plugins, blending in some extra textures here and there. I've done this in other games as well, just not to this level. Looking at the gallery thread I found myself inspired by many other users posts. Special thanks to everyone that has posted in there. Just out of curiosity, was the note a page from the journal of a stranded soldier surviving through DayZ? I keep a pen on me and fill out pages every time I find paper and then leave it behind in an obvious place. I check the forums, but never heard of anyone finding one of em.

Hey thanks man! Actually I left DayZ awhile ago, but came back a couple weeks ago and have started doing WP's again. My 3rd pack is on the way in a day or two. EDIT: I've updated the OP, added Wallpaper Pack #3! The next wallpaper pack I'm going to walk about the world and take pictures with people and groups I meet- kind of like a tourism thing. I fully expect to be killed more than a few times, but I also won't carry anything more than basic survival supplies (food/drink/basic medical), and only weapons for self-defense against zombies. I'm not sure what video setting it is, I've got all my settings set up in the config files. At campfires I'm not seeing smoke, just heat coming off of it. I checked with my buddies and they don't see it either, but their settings are based off of mine for performance rather than pretty.

Objects are at normal, texture detail and rendering are both at high. I'm wondering if its clouds... by chance, I have those completely turned off. (currently testing) EDIT: And yes, turning on clouds then restarting the game did it. Cool. Do you know what setting effects the ability to see smoke? Sorry, I didn't realize that the question wasn't directly asked, just implied.

IRL a screwdriver and a clamp is all you really need and only takes a couple minutes to set up, but really I think Pgup and pgdown are enough for now.

As far as I know they only dish out the files to host a server to a couple companies for hosting services. Whenever-if-ever they do open up to the public I'm all for it. We've got a 1g synchronous business class connection with several servers we would like to host on too, but I don't see it being any time soon. I haven't read this anywhere, but my guess would be that they're sticking to these private companies to keep the files in check for preventing hacks ect...

I found like 10 Sks' last night. Yeah, its crazy.

Was actually just talking to a friend about this on the phone. I'm on the fence about it because yes, it'll up the loot hoarding exponentially, but also- I'm a loot hoarder. Once vehicles are in again those will be the pack mules.
