There needs to be balance, NOT ALL PVP, NOT ALL COOP
Partypants Pete replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Gee whiz, another thread like this? So what you're saying is you believe the game should have pvp and coop and coop is more rewarding? And that anyone who pvps couldn't possibly be doing it simply because its what they enjoy more? I run with my buddies and we, while playing the coop side, tend to shoot everyone on sight. What?! Pvp AND coop? Did I just blow your fucking mind? If you have a no-shit gameplay suggestion put it where it belongs. If you don't and just have an opinion put it in one of the other threads. -

I laughed at all three

I disagree with essentially everything you wrote but agree with everything FishIsTwonk responded with. Thanks for the effort though. Dont be afraid to offer suggestions even if people don't agree with them.

Terrible idea. While you're at it lets purify water, wash our clothes, brush our teeth, or have to find a can opener, a clean plate, and a microwave before we can eat beans. More complicated does not equal better.

Except bitches would start doing exactly what they're doing now with c-wire and tank traps. Blocking off the high yield buildings and making anyone without a toolbox unable to get inside. It's always fun when you see a gun you want but your stupid character decides he can't be bothered to step over the wire.

Why would you want server bound players? I still don't think people take the time to think this through. What happens when your server is full? What happens when it crashes? What happens if it permanently gets taken offline? What if your friends want to play but they can't get in?

You mean you don't base your entire existance around the opinions of butthurt nerdbags? You're a loser then!

it shouldn't take 50 tries to meet up with friends
Partypants Pete replied to psychopigeon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If I meant to say that I probably would. I read the noob forums before starting and clearly remember a stickied post asking people not to continually respawn until they're at a good spot and I've carried that mentality with me my entire gameplay experience. If I spawn in Otmel and have to run to Kamenka to meet up with my brother it is what it is. It's a part of the gameplay experience and, as of now, is how the game is designed to be played. If you were supposed to continually click respawn until you found a good spot then I have a feeling the game would have been built with a "Where do you want to spawn" button. If they add that in later I will gladly use it. Until then *shrug* Oh, and the Hawkward picture makes me chuckle anytime I see it in a forum so thank you for giving me that chuckle. Edit: And even not knowing the map there are plenty of resources for seeing the map online. I googled it my first day. It seemed common sense to me. -

I sneak all the time and very, very rarely get aggro. You should try low-crawling. Also, welcome to DayZ. You've now begun to realize what this game entails. -
Vaulting animation Day Z could use
Partypants Pete replied to thealgerian's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What? What does this have to do with anything? Fat people don't want to jump in video games? Trolls should be required to carry signs. As per the original post. I was against it initially because I tend to sneak everywhere, but there have been times that I'm running and wished I could jump. However, I can say that it's impossible to jump when you're wearing all the gear you would be carrying. I don't think most of you realize how much more difficult it is to move carrying 50lbs worth of weight in a pack so from a realism standpoint I disagree. From a convenience standpoint I'm all for this. -

Partypants Pete replied to triplesek's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well, for the record you're going to be in the minority by saying that we don't need patches. In fact, you might be literally the only one. You're entitled to your opinion even if it's ridiculous. I'm just glad Rocket does his own thing and lets these threads pass to the Land of QQ Threads. -

Partypants Pete replied to psychopigeon's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You don't have to spawn in the same city. If you're close it makes far more sense for each of you to loot the city you start in and then run to each other. If you die, oh well. You're in noob status and you're not losing anything and maybe you respawn closer the next time. If someone spawns in Kamenka, someone else in Komarovo, and someone else in Elektro it's not that hard for everyone to meet north of Chernog. -

Partypants Pete replied to triplesek's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What? Lol... I think you might just like to hear yourself speak because you contradicted yourself multiple times. Who cares if there are hackers? It's a free alpha. If you don't go into an alpha knowing there are going to be hackers and glitches then you're extremely nieve. Why wouldn't a mod be in an alpha stage? In fact, a mod would be more prone to being in alpha than a full game because there are paid testers to work out the bugs in a game in real developement. We're playing this game, for free I'd like to add again, because it's our job to find the bugs and experience the glitches and hackers so that Rocket can find a way to work around them. The only way he's going to know if the fixes work is by patching the game and seeing what new glitches and hacks are added in. I don't understand why people complain about a game being given to them that they knew was in the beginning stages of their life. If games with full budgets get released FULL of bugs/glitches, hello Skyrim, then don't assume a mod like this won't have them. Assume it will. It's going to save you a lot of disappointment. Instead of focusing on the things that are wrong then have fun with it and focus on the things that are right. -
Pro Tip: No one is your friend
Partypants Pete replied to triplesek's topic in New Player Discussion
This is exactly right. If someone tells me their friendly but they have a weapon how can I trust them? As soon as I turn around they could shoot me in the back. If I'm thinking this way I'm going to assume 97% of other players are. -
ESP hackers NEED to go rocket.
Partypants Pete replied to kicktd's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think its way more probable someone found your car which lead them to your camp. Maybe not directly but, if they have the same mentality as me, cars = camps the majority of the time. If they had the car they could have made loot runs. Statistically it doesn't make it any harder to find the longer it stays hidden. Consider yourself lucky it lasted that long. -
2 DayZ characters 1 steam account?
Partypants Pete replied to skits360's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Odds are pretty good if you just play you'll have a lot of new things to show your homie when he gets back from summer camp. Getting the loots is the most fun anyways. Hoard for too long and the game loses its appeal. -
