Can't you simply press the "Respawn" button in the menu? It will kill you and after that you Abort - Disconnect and rejoin.

At around 9.30 p.m. on July 18th a fire fight errupted between two relatively big groups (8 vs. 10+) at the NWA. All except 2 of you were wearing ghillie suits (none of us were) and one of you actually rode a bike into battle (kudos! :D). We killed 7 of you, with me alone killing 4. 6 of us died including me in the end. What's sad is that in the end with 2 of us alive in the tin shed south of the northern baracks one of you decided to log off and respawn within the shed getting himself killed in the process (you sir are a frickin noob - go burn in hell!). All in all we really enjoyed the encounter and had lots of fun. I'm full equip again and so are most of the others, we'll see you again ;D

Canned food only gives you 200hp. A steak which you can get from an animal if you have a hunting knife, an axe and a box of matches will give you 800hp and if you have a mate who can administer the blood packs it'll get you to 12000hp right away, no matter how low you were before. Playing this game solo is a bad idea :P

The graphics card sucks. What use would a new PC be to you if you can't even enjoy the game on high settings + high FPS? And you'll get more out of your money if you either build it yourself (which isn't that hard) or have someone build it for you. Don't you have local computer stores in the US? Just give him a list of the parts you want and have him give you a price in return. If it's good make the deal. You'll only get ripped off when buying an OEM PC.

No! Just No! Go to a local computer store and have them build one for you after specs you'll give them. Join a hardware forum and ask people what they'd recommend. If you want I'll even give you a list of components. Only an idiot would buy an OEM PC and you'd have to be completely bonkers to get it at Walmart for Christ's sake!

An event that draws all the survivors and bandits to one location sounds cool :D

Is one of the characters tied to a specific server? If so it's most likely a private server that has it's own character pool.

Add a poll! 50$ if rocket guarantees that there will be no shop or any sort of F2P although I think 10-20$ would be a fair price.

No matter how decent a person you are - a fire fight in DayZ will give anybody the high you need to get this crazy. I had 3 intense firefights today and actually got a little sick from the stress. Love this mod! Best thing that has happened to me in gaming in years!

Using the Six Updater and always having the newest ArmA 2 beta patch installed has been working perfectly for me since I've started playing DayZ.

My tip: Change the controls to your liking (the standard ones are simply terrible) and fix the awful mouse lag.

Tell him to get a real PC and not some crappy OEM system/laptop. They are rip-offs.

+1 for insulting random people on the internet for no reason! @topic: It's part of what makes this game special. I died several times before finding my first gun but it helped me because you really learn to respect the game and it's harsh environment. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it soon enough ;)

I think introducing new players to a world of fear and the constant feeling of being prey works best without a starting weapon :P They took them out for a reason.

I was wearing a ghillie before the latest patch (1.7.2) and simply wasn't wearing it after joining for the first time. Everything else was normal. But when I tried putting on another one I had in my backpack I lost my main weapon + normal inventory, pistol + pistol inventory and my range finder because some idiot though it'd be funny for me to port into the ocean for a few secs when changing clothing (you normaly port to the debug forest). Just spawn and if you spawn in the desert with nothing on you just respawn again it's a bit like russian roulette at the moment.

Breaking one's opponents legs with bear traps should suffice. Introducing a passive weapon that can kill instantly and even multiple opponents at once would be overpowered.

In my eyes there are only three possible ways DayZ will go: #1: It will forever be a free mod for ArmA2 and eventually ArmA 3 #2: It will become a game mode for ArmA 3, accessable via the ArmA 3 menu #3: It will become a stand alone video game produced and published by Bohemia Interactive with rocket at the head of the team and sold for the moderate price of 10-20$ Either way it will never stop catering to the hardcore community (rocket has pointed that out over and over again) and that's the way it's supposed to be. It was never intended to be a game for casual gamers and I couldn't care less about such people not liking it. It is what it is and let's be happy about the fact that it will never be less :)
