But this isn't how a Necrosis Filovirus would evolve. The virus would mutate over time, however the hosts would not. Rather than the origin site of the original strain, it is far more likely to be a potential site of a newer, more evolved strain. The container ship crashed not far from that region. Do we know why, when and what it's cargo was?

Lingor is a refreshing change, but I can't help feeling that we only like it so much because it's new. It isn't actually that great a map. Alot of the terrain is irritatingly steep, it's actually quite a small map and some of the building models really aren't made very well (Military huts, I'm looking at you). There's also way too many military spawns for my liking. As for stats never saving; that's nothing to do with the map, you're just playing on dodgy servers. I've never experienced stats loss on my own DB or someone else's.

You almost understood my post, 5/10 for effort.

Alot of private hives already run ACE with DayZ, including some of the Lingor Island versions. Seem's to work great and adds a whole new level of realism. Exhaustion is a pain in the ass though!

Maybe there just isn't anything to report? This isn't Fox.

Your opinion will change immensely the 1st time you snap your leg and have every supply in the world bar morphine, your only choice being suicide (you can't even just hit respawn now!). It's absolutely essential to carry. Especially since once you strike out north, the only way you will find any is randomly in military loot piles. Also keep in mind that leg breaks are very random. The 1st hit from a Z can break your leg. Closing a door can break your leg. Heck sometimes it even just randomly Alt F4s on life and snaps itself. Crawling from NWAF to Cherno takes a really long time...

Why cant DAY Z be take from this?
Dekey (DayZ) replied to SANDMAN DAN's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With regards to movement; Rocket has said many times that DayZ is more 28 days later infected undead than Romero style, lumbering brain eaters. So it was probably an intentional design choice. -
1.Morphine 2.The rest A broken leg cares not for your survival supplies.

Towns up North (except for Staruy) are totally useless & empty of activity

RE: Private Hives and 'The Rules' - (Update from Rocket inside)

It's a mod. There's no EULA. You can do whatever you want with it. If you don't like private servers, don't play on them. Their existence will have pratically zero baring on the development of DayZ. They might even contribute positively considering HiveZ has turned into "Call of Modern Battlefield for Dead 7". Privates still work creatively with this mod in my experience, and generate some really creative ideas within the mod. Also "we" fixed helicopters 2 builds ago. Just sayin' -
The "click point" for gear in a chopper is at the end of the tail. Annoying I know.

I'm all for self imposed handicaps, but if it's with a mind to limit the amount of content you're exposed to, it's a little bit silly in my eyes. But each to their own I guess.

Duck you all to bell you worthless quacks.

The funny thing is these people that complain about being shot when unarmed would likely do exactly the same if the situation were reversed. The way I see it; why should I wait for you to become a threat before I take you out? That's just asking for trouble. The more freshly spawned survivors, the better my odds of survival. -
OK so may as well try not to get a weapon, or bandages, or tools. I'm sure there will be tons of stuff for the backpack-less survivor to do with his time.... Sure we can all remove our backpacks and sit in the woods forever, that's hardly a challenge ;p

It's all fun and games till you want to repair a vehicle. Good luck doing that with no backpack.
