For the audience watching at home, what you are about to witness is the wild Mojo in his native habitat, finally losing that oft-cited saintly patience on an ostensible 25-year-old throwing the tantrums of a man-child. Observe!: [nothing. -Ed.] Edit: Well he retracted an error I highlighted, which I guess is an expressed desire to end this stupid pissing match. Anyway folks, the thread is over a week old at this point, and rapid connection/disconnection cycling is not the problem it used to be thanks to server saturation. This topic may warrant being unstickied now, as the problem dropped dramatically a while ago.

Banned from Eu8 for russian language
Mojo (DayZ) replied to OldFox (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Seeing this written by a non-anglophone in a thread seemingly revolving around an actual' date=' apparently-accepted philosophy of mass-shaming of non-anglophones only serves to make me ashamed to [i']be an anglophone. -

Banned from Eu8 for russian language
Mojo (DayZ) replied to OldFox (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
1. This is very likely backlash because Russian admins are notorious -- whether the accusation is warranted or not -- for banning non-Russian players. Non-Russian administrators do the idiotic thing, which is to punish Russian players for the (rumoured) bad behaviour of Russian administrators. 2. It may be that the admin was kinda dull. As XiviD pointed out, if you're the one designated group leader, you will spam orders. You will give orders to other players in whatever language pack they have installed. If I was to play by myself with 10 Russian players, my character would generate automatic orders to those ten players in Russian, regardless of the language I have installed, or the language I speak. -
You have the thinnest skin I've ever seen.

How to set up FireDaemon Pro -- documentation for DayZ community
Mojo (DayZ) replied to Mojo (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Just giving this a little bump now that I'm more awake. I'm looking specifically for feedback on whether or not new users, especially hosts unfamiliar with the Windows 2008 server environment, are able to use this documentation to successfully a) become increasingly familiar with their server environment, b) are able to successfully use the documentation to set up and manage their OA/DayZ servers and hive support applications, and c) (and probably most importantly) come to a greater understanding of not just what something is supposed to look like when it works, but why it works that way (for example, understanding the important distinction between launching an .exe vs. a .bat in FireDaemon Pro, as explained on page 4). Feedback on ergonomics is also appreciated, though (again) most of it is sloppy at the moment because formatting documentation on 22 consecutive hours of wakefulness tends to bring out the laziness in me. The thumbnail was designed at XGA resolution (1024 x 768, landscape) and formatted according to web/monitor standards. The dimensions were chosen primarily with legacy support for older 4:3 monitors in mind, while still remaining sufficiently high resolution for good legibility on 16:9 and 16:10 1920 x 1080 viewing. Gutters and bleeds weren't touched in the initial publication due to me being extremely lazy and tired, hence the apparent overprinting in the final exported PDF. As a scratch proof, the basic layout expresses the design concept sufficiently that this shouldn't be a significant detriment to the usability of the document, though of course your feedback is appreciated. Particular focus was put on ensuring a high enough resolution to maintain legibility in the illustration figures. Again, as temporary placeholders only derived from the raw images, these were cropped and resized with an attention to providing pertinent information necessary for orientation in the desktop environment, eg. window titles, to cater mostly to inexperienced users. Size was, for the time being, what could be cropped to include the necessary orientation information as well as the necessary primary information, such as in Figure 2 on page 2, where the System window title is displayed upper-left and the principle information, the OS native instruction set, is displayed bottom right. Any images resized were done with the standard bicubic sharper resampling for reduction in Photoshop. Cropping was eyeballed and not exact, nor was image frame placement. Immediately typos and lost information is apparent. This is known and the oversight will be adjusted in future publishings. -
hive.exe and hiveauth.exe stopped working
Mojo (DayZ) replied to demine0's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I haven't encountered this problem myself. All I can recommend is updating the hives to 0.9.1 if you haven't already, and seeing how they behave in the new build. -
So. Switching servers once, yeah. So not connection spamming, then. Words: The things that mean things.

Oh hello everybody. I'm cross-posting today, so I can get the documentation a little more views for people who might be interested. Here it is if you're being a baddie and following this thread instead: You can download it here (PDF, 591Kb) It's just a sample, and fuck me if I felt like spending more than 45 minutes in InDesign slapping something together, but it gives you a quick thumbnail of what this project is aiming to provide. -
Server.exe is crashing every few minutes
Mojo (DayZ) replied to Tomi1702 (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Your -exThreads should be -exThreads=1. Other than that, the parameters look fine. Is your server sufficient to support 4 CPUs? If it has more than 4 CPUs, have you tried setting the core affinity to four specific cores? Additionally, have you tried redownloading arma2oaserver.exe and overwriting your old exe to ensure it's not a corrupted executable? -

Hi Tomi, can you describe the following for me: Your server's specifications If you have set your server process' affinity or priority Errors, if any Your startup parameters (ie: -mod= -exThreads= etc.) If you're more comfortable conducting this by private message, feel free to PM me. -

And thanks to ExWizzard for patiently troubleshooting with me as I set up a beta server in FireDaemon for the first time, and finding the solution to our problem. Ah, young hosts, learning together... and loving together. Lazer, Syk, hop on TeamSpeak when you get the chance. If I'm asleep, well, hop on eight hours later or something. We'll figure out how to divide up the workload or pick each other's brains for documentation. In other news, I discovered today that I was the worst server admin in all of DayZ. Ever, in fact: Guys, I want you to know, first of all, obviously I should just go die. Second, this documentation, it's my way of atoning for my crimes against humanity. If ever you see DayZ Zombie RPG - CD 1 (v1.5.8) dayzmod.com - hosted by Thomas Lubanga, know that his server is better administered than mine. Again, I apologize. Mea culpa. -

Glad I could help! Sorry we got cut off as we did at the end there, furball. Things that are great about having a dog: Loyalty, love, companionship. Things that aren't great about having a dog: She tries to break the neck of one of her chew-toys, throwing it across the room and directly into your router in the middle of a conversation. If you get startled by this, you get the bonus situation of having hot coffee spill directly on your chest and crotch for free! -

Not a problem. FireDaemon is simple and easy to use. I'm compiling some basic documentation on that very subject right now. If you'd like to come on our TS server (see the address above), I can give you some hands-on time with FireDaemon basics. Once you're comfortable with its use, if you're comfortable, we can move on to its more powerful features. I'll be available on TeamSpeak until around 10am Eastern, at which point I will probably do the aforementioned passing out. -
I've said repeatedly that enter-spamming is understandable. Do people even read these threads and what the underlying problem is? Just some friendly advice: If you a) tell us to deal with you obstinately demanding to destabilize the servers we pay for out of pocket and then b) tell us the solution is not greater host-player cooperation when problems are brought to your attention, but for us to pay more for this kind of entitled, uncooperative behaviour, the solution the hosts are going to enact is c) fewer servers.

Where access admin tools to see player names.
Mojo (DayZ) replied to Zoop's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Your best bet is a combination of the RCon GUI and Battleye Extended Commands (which includes logging) coupled with judicious observation, and a pen and paper notepad system on your desktop to take down player names, GUIDs, etc. Regular browsing of 4chan and reddit, as well as a ten-dollar one time subscription to Something Awful, doesn't hurt either. -
Indeed. I had to move my server namespace out to Chicago 20 until some issues get resolved. I tried for days to be the 2nd Chicago server set up (I was already Chicago 1) and due to communications issues, ended up being the 10th. I wasn't very happy, and then somebody came along (Lazer) who no fault of his own ended up using Chicago 10 while I used internal codenames as server names -- Chicago 1 Original (the first Chi server up) and Chicago 1 Blues. Told to change it to 10, which had me stepping on Lazer's toes, so I moved it out to 20 in the interest of cooperation, even though I'm still fuming over trying to get 2 up and not getting a response while other people were.

Then you have Combined Ops! Sort of. You said you'd created the shortcut' date=' and I can see you've loaded DayZ properly (it is, after all, generating an error message) so that's good. Right click the shortcut and select properties. In the target line, where you have -mod=@DayZ, we want to add a little more to force it to load base ArmA 2's assets. change it to "-mod=[your path to base arma2'];Expansion;@DayZ" So, if the Amazon version installed itself in C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2, your mod line would look like this: "-mod=C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2;Expansion;@DayZ" Don't forget the quotation marks if you have any spaces in your path, and remember to ensure that the semicolons are present between each portion of the mod line. To be on the extra-safe side, you can reproduce the capitalization as it appears in your path. -
