Trust me its better to play veteran or above. Less easy mode snipers out there that use the magical middle mouse range finder sniping you or doing a quick scroll wheel along the tree line for any survivors. Veteran settings should be mandatory to play DayZ.

Awesome gotta love proof, also I wish I could come across a hacker with a gold AK and revolver, so when i murder them and take it I may look like a Somalian drug lord I mean just cause its the end of the world don't mean you cant have no stylez!

I'm sorry but anyone that gets attached to their gear shouldn't be playing. This mod is still in alpha testing, and I'm quite certain that all players will be reset again before it hits Beta, and I'm positive they'll be reset before this becomes a stand alone game.

Idiots... record yourself benefiting from another player hacking Yes, I believe Devs have mentioned if you find a hacked weapon your fine just don't hack. But what they were doing was basically hacking, they were just lazy about it. They either should of logged or avoided the obvious hacker instead of recording themselves taking items from him... I believe the person doing the live stream and the hacker deserve some good ole CD key banns.

So did they ban you? Doesn't seem like it... Go find their base again, eavesdropping or searching for it w/e... Record your raid, and your escape. Make sure you save the vehicle... Server gets reset again? You know have proof, present said proof on forum... Because right now all we have is hear say.

Parking level - Female Asian

Playing on my home server of Dallas 22, soon not to be though for obvious reasons and a few personal ones, on 7/7/2012 about 0420 CET when building in Berezino started getting destroyed. This led to my character getting broken legs and then dying at 9k plus blood. Bummed but determined to make it make to my squad mate I respawn and start huffing it up there. Only to be killed by a chopper on the coast. Respawned again and began finding ammo boxes on coast then found this just a tad bit north of Otmel. Tried to fly it to sea, engine was destroyed tough. So I tried to hurt it with its own weapons, apparently ARMA idiot proofed it so I couldn't... And there were no weapons in the gear just mags... so yeah... now Dallas 22 has a Blackhawk on the beach...

I agree with this post, I named my character Paranoid Schizophrenic... And basically what I do is, if I'm ever around other players I start having conversations with myself, the same goes if there is side chat... Maybe this is more enjoyable for me but this is an RPG and I like to play it as one...

I really only like the part about reclaiming some civilization. Currently I am trying to get a hold of a vehicle so I can gather up as many tents, tank traps, and barbed wire as possible. So I can build an artificial town. Then I want to recruit new players, and old, to guard and populate my town. And continue on from there, finding more vehicles, spitting the town into hunting parties and looting parties. Yes, and have a small group of people with high tier equipment that could protect and react to problems that arise, be it bandits or zombie rescue. Is my dream ambitious? Yes, but will it happen? Your damn right it will

Just throwing it out there right away... I have not read the above posts... Yet But I completely agree with OP, they need more bikes, that break down easily, and can not hold any gear. ( not sure if they do or not ) That would make this game so much more enjoyable.

Honestly I believe that the more weapon variety there is, the better the game will end up being. Simply lower the chance to find military grade weapons, increase the varitey of such weapons. This would also create a scarcity in ammunition, thus making these high grade weapons that much more valuable.

I agree with OP's idea, except the for the idea's on gear, Also I believe in adding a variety to weapons whilst lowering the chance to find them, there by increasing the ammo scarcity in itself.

No' date=' it does not require a map, it requires basic knowledge of where things are placed on the map to figure out cardinal directions. Also, when people say "head north", its generalized that just moving inland is safer, I.E. off the coast. Anywhere off the coast (other than airfields/barracks) is immeasurably safer. Here's a tip I give to all newcomers: 1. Once spawned on the coast, head inland. 2.If you hit A) A road before hitting a railroad, you are most likely on the east coast or B) the railroad before a road you are most likely on the south coast. 3. You can also use the sun/stars as an indicator once you figure out which coast you are on to maintain your bearings. I'm pretty sure you can figure out where to go from there. I agree with this, whole heartily. Also maybe add more civilian clothes models, and maybe have the NAPA, Nationalist guerrilla uniform be a rare Civilian drop ( Its basically a camo hoody and balaclava ). But on that note I also believe Camo Clothes and Ghillie Suits should only spawn at military locations...
