Haven't had a lot of memorable ones but this one was kinda fancy. I had only 1911 at the time as I was making my way to stary sobor. Wen't to check out loot from the castle when I heard footsteps from the top. Happy camper felt a little nappy after taking a few shots to the head. He had full gear and all :)

My apologies if you get the feeling that I'm provoking you, was not my intention They are doing it already and towing seems like a great feature to fit in the game. Even thoug I don't wish to catch any of the diseases they are planning to implement I still think they are great features as well. I don't need to be using them actively to enjoy them being in game As said, hoarders gonna hoard. I feel like towing would actually encourage teamwork. Someone with a car capable of towing can even help someone esle out if their car gets stuck somewhere! :)

In reality you can deatch that silencer from your m4 and fire both rounds out from it. In reality you can fire the regular rounds even with the silencer but that would damage the silencer from what I've heard

What if you poop and fling it at her? :o

Good job re-railing the conversation. It's easy to get lost out there. I wouldn't mind microskills but I feel that they aren't that much of a selling point for most people. I feel that most people would apprechiate as feature-rich experience as possible. Spraying clan tags to buildings & trees, doing proper traps, allowing us to build barricades, customize vehicles mad-max style etc. Who knows what rocket has in store for us :) I think it's riiiight about there: Yeah, right. I think we're done here

At my 200+ hours of play, the only vehicle with more than 2 wheel was ural which I had for one afternoon before it disappeared. It was +150 hours before I found moped which me and my friend used to great effect. Playing on vanilla servers only You seem to having trouble keeping the discussion in the topics and not taking it to personal level. Please maintain your manners

The problem is that Survivor and Bandit are exactly the same. You people seem to have a hard time grasping the concept of role playing games so let me try a different approach. Person A is playing as a bandit Player B is playing as a bandit Player A moves more than player B, by your logic player A is now a move-bandit instead of regular bandit because he moves more. His role is now move bandit This is not how RPGs work In an RPG you can't swap your role to another on the fly. In dayZ you can swap from bandit to hero by changing your playstyle. You can't swap from a mage into a knight in an RPG. That's why it's an RPG. You pick a role and stick to it because that's a core mechanic in the game. Heroes and bandits are just a way to call different playstyles, kinda like different kinds of mages in a game. This mage is arcane, this mage is elementalist, yet they are both mages because that's their chosen role. They are not knights and they can't swap to being knight by changing playstyle. They will have to create a new character to play knight. That's the core thing in western RPG genre and that's why they are called Role Playing Games No need to turn into personal insults when you run out of arguments. I do not limit RPGs to fantasy at all. If you chose to play as medic or engineer at the start when you kick up your character in dayZ and you'd have to make a new character to play the other role, then it would be an RPG

They are a great moveable asset where you can store your gear. In a game like this you shouldn't really question people's motives on owning stuff. "Why would you want to survive when you can respawn" ... yeah

Yup. Only the Americans are capable of actually take fox news seriously and that's only the simplest individuals of them. Those are not really the target demographic for this game anyhow -
Nope. That's like distinguishing one pong paddle as 'still paddle' because it moves less than the other. They are both paddles for gods sakes, it's not a role they are playing. In dayZ you are a survivor RPG: "Hey, I'm mike, I'm playing as MAGE" "Hey, I'm pete, I'm playing as KNIGHT" DayZ "Hey, I'm mike, I'm playing as SURVIVOR" "Hey, I'm pete, I'm playing as SURVIVOR" Spot the difference
-
Why give advantage to bandits for such activity? The skin was meant to distinguish regular players from bandits and the new one does exactly that, without giving an edge for doing so
-
The same thing is happening now. Towing would mostly help people with small manpower and one vehicle, aka. the average player

At that point would it really be worth the time and effort anymore to implement such a system? IMO what should make you a better runner is the knowledge how to keep yourself healthy in-game. And that is something that will be drastically harder in the SA. I don't think we need xp system on top of the health system they are planning to implement. Anything less from the perfect condition would slow you down, a good player would know how to avoid infections and treat them properly, maintain a steady body temperature through out the changing enviromental conditions, keeping yourself hydrated and nourished etc. That would increase the skill ceiling of the game and make players who have survived longer naturally better at even the most mundane tasks. Changing an engine part when you have a raging diarrhea, your body temperature is 33 degrees, you haven't drank in two days nor eaten in a week can be a bit tricky yaknow
-
You are starting to slip from the subject to personal insulting, both of you

Try to maintain a proper forum etiquette people or someone calls the mods :|

I want to strap ace of spades to my helmet if I find a deck of cards. My group would call me the 'ace' :}

My bad! Not the best example there eh? ^_^

You can't really tow a car if the car has no wheels. At least not off-road nor without making one hell of a rumpus :D

I don't think you really understand how modifying guns work in real life or in military simulations like this. Changing your m24 barrel to a higher calibre one is not: A) possible B) possible. It aint exctly how you do it in bf3 for example where you can stick acog on ak74 and add in foregrip & heavy barrel for higher calibre rounds. None of these things can actually fit the gun that does not support them. What we are talking about is being able to mount and dismount things like kobra reflex sight from ak74 and attach it back when needed. Or strapping a flashlight on your double barreled shotgun with some duct tape

how to handle property - the issue when being offline
Uuni replied to joe_mcentire's topic in Suggestions
I gotta agree I'm starting to see an issue here (sorta). I guess it really comes down to what benefits are you looking for when you build a base. Are you looking for a place to store your stuff or are you looking to establish a settlement where you spend most of your time. If it's the former it can be fixed with locks, if it's the latter it's much harder thing to deal with. The only thing I can come up with now for the latter is just to have enough people around to guard the place, don't know how that would work out though. Locks can kinda help as well as barricading the entrance before logging out as they can't just serverhop in like they could in the current iteration of dayz. I think that barricading a place up for the night is a legit strategy, you'd need at least a functional vehicle to break thru and that's enough effort to take over a place imo. -

Uuni replied to Grumpy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It would be a neat idea but the benefits are really overshadowed by the cons. Griefing, bad publicity, time and effort it takes to implement... not really worth the realism it adds. Vomiting and stomach ache can still be implemented without diarrhea. Vomiting and other disease sympthoms would not result in juvenile shenanigans like uncontrollable bowel movement would -
The zombie AI is a thing they put a great effort into. I have always thought that zombies behave somewhat like a katamari: one starts running and others start following

I feel the best thing we can do is allow people to communicate with oneanother more easily. With the side channel gone the game took a turn for the worse. When you saw someone running in Zeleno supermarket, you could tell him that you are there just to look food before running in. Now you have to run in and then try to convince the dude inside that you are no threat which is far more suspicious, not giving the chance for the other to take a hike if he's not into the social stuff
-
I think he means the kind of games that have articially tacked on leveling and progression just to keep you playing, kinda like the prestiege system in CoD
-
Makeshift attachements are a must have IMO. They would fit the survivor theme perfectly
