(unless it's a Winchester which is still technically a shotgun) If you come across another player, and all you have is a shotgun...and they have any gun except a shotgun...your not going to walk away from the encounter. In commander, add your friend into the friends list, using the EXACT name they use in game. Inlcuding clan tags if they have them. To find them in game, either agree verbally on a town/location. Or use a GPS if you have one. This will give you co-ordinates, visible on the left & right / top & bottom of your ingame or online map. Or use a personal marker...by using shift key and left click on the map. This will gibe you a personal waypoint and you will see a green arrow indicator at the left or right side of your screen. Turn round till your looking right at it...then run to it. Sometimes this is just a spike, add the server into your favourites...and then in the favourites tab...refresh the server. by adding it into your favourites you dont have to refresh your entire server list. If it instantly goes back down to green/low ping it was a spike. If it stays red after a couple refreshes...dont go on it. Hope this helps you both!

You will meet honest players, and maybe even make some good "trustworthy" friends to play DayZ with. Unfortunately these moments are few and far between. But it does make you appreciate the good/friendly players more, when you do finally encounter some. I'd reccommend either trying to find some good people via the survivor or bandit HQ in these forums, or look for a clan/gaming community in your country/region. Not that you can't also have just as much fun going lone wolf. It's totally upto you what playing style you want... hero or bandit...grouped or lone wolf. As the mod is marketed... DayZ...it's your story. It is what you make it. Savour the good and bad moments, i have never played a game/mod that i have enjoyed so much. And that has made me go through some many emotions. Joy, guilt, remorse, fear & paranoia to name but a few! :thumbsup:

Most of the hackers will hopefully piss off when the next "big game" comes out. As for Activision employees doing this sort of thing...i'd like to think not, as it would be extremely petty and could do more damage than good if they were ever found out. But some people are just twats unfortunately. Such is life...so who can say for sure who is capable of what.

Yes. Yes it does. I have a quad i7 with a 6950 and a 24 inch monitor in 1920x1200. Awesome looking game, but then it was 3 years ago when it came out (ArmA2 i mean) I bought my quad i7 over 3 years ago...just to play ArmA2 on! Money well spent, especially since DayZ has rekindled my love for the ArmA2 engine. It still looks awesome over 3 years later! Can't wait to see the standalone running on a new engine!

No cos they can't take it off your...still, lifeless corpse if your wearing it. If you have a spare in your bag however, this is what they may think! So kill you just to check if you do. Best advice. Trust no one except your very good friends. Be wary of people that say friendly, as 90% of people will say that. Then shoot you in the face. Esp. if you have the shot lined up on them before they've even noticed you. As they will say this to stop you shooting and then shoot you. And lastly...don't turn your back on any players you don't truly trust. Let them go infront of you when running together etc.

hahaha. Poor guy, i bet he loves running with you guys. I've had a clan mate take some of us out, when we were all inside a building with a very bad grenade throw! He wasn't too popular for the next few minutes...but his guilt and embarrassment was enough for me as his punishment.

Yes i agree, but as i say ...lag/de-sync can do some strange stuff. If on your screen your hitting him and he is right in front of you...but on his screen he is slightly more to the right/left maybe your not hitting him where you think or even at all. Just because your htting him on your screen and seeing blood...this does not mean this is def. whats happening.

Sorry, ive beem playing this MOD since May. And i have never encountered such a hacker. It's either GOD mode and they wont die, or nothing at all (health wise). Not that i'm saying i don't believe what you say. Just that i have never encountered a hacker that "boosts his health just a little tiny bit" The majority of people who have replied in this thread so far also think he is not hacking. Upto you what you choose to think though. Calling hacks when something doesn't go your way is shitty though.

Exactly. Remember if lag/de-sync is so bad. Where he is on YOUR screen...may not be where he is on his screen.

He does take a few shots to the legs and one or two to the chest. But i'd say bad luck, bad aiming and maybe a touch of lag over anything else. As mentioned...if you took your time and leaned round corner...you would have won this encounter...no doubt about it. How can he be a hacker if he died too? Not as if he'd just give himself say another 50% health. If he was hacking...it would be god mode and he would not have died in my humble opinion. Feel your pain though!

You miss with an awful lot of shots. The ones that do hit are mostly his legs, only the last few rounds just before you die hit his chest. He also dies in the video, so i'd say not a hacker too. If you had of took your time and aimed for his head right from the off...you wouldn't be making posts like this.

Most appropriate answers to a question/suggestion like this. ArmA2 & DayZ are about gritty realism and survival. If you want to still be alive after 10 bullets from an assault rifle...without being rude...your playing the wrong game. Also, instead of making the game easier, why don't you learn to play smarter. I've been in gun battles/firefights for 5-10 minutes. Shooting at each other, using cover, flanking, suppressing etc etc. It's only over in an instant if your not careful and go running about like this is every other fps out there (COD/MOH/Battlefield) Just get out of that mindset and you may actually live longer and exchange gunfire for more than 1 second or not at all. And i'm not having at go at COD players etc etc. It was merely a reference to just about every other fps out there...which ArmA2 & DayZ are not.

It was actually in the patch notes for one of the patches released a while back. I cant remember what patch (1.09 maybe) And i can't be bothered to sit and google stuff until i find it...when you can do this yourself. Yes it does. When ArmA2 first came out there was a few problems with cores not being used properly. That has since been fixed in patches, and it now uses as many cores as it can. Or as many as you tell it to use via the properties on the shortcut to the game. -cpucount= is the option which allows define number of CPUs/cores available so -cpucount=2 for dual cores -cpucount=4 for quad cores

Do you really have to make a new thread everytime this happens? You made a thread about being hacked yesterday, and another today...before this one. Why dont you just post into that thread. We all get hacked, yet we all do not feel the need to make a new thread on the matter everytime it happens. Why do you think it's necessary!

Try going prone and crawling backward towards the door if there is one. I've read on these forums that if your lucky it will let you out, or break your legs and let you click respawn. If your unlucky it won't do anything. Good luck dude!
