The latest version is the one at the top of the screen in the green bar (95208) :- http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php/ Run arrowhead and see what version yours says in the bottom right of the screen in the main menu to find out if your upto date.

Is it possible for 2 players in a firefight to kill each other?

I can't see why not. If you both have the same amount of health and weapon. And technically if you both fire at the same time and the same amount of bullets hit each person. Then you should both do same damage and die at same time. -
Barns will have anything from axes & cross bows to shotguns, rifles and hunting rifles (scoped). Not all of them though obv. It's all about the luck ;)

Sounds like you can start to head out of the cities and organise yourself a bit more. Try to stock up on food, drink and bandages. Then try to get some matches, a hatchet, hunting knife...so you can hunt for food and cook it. Also a compass, as i notice you have a map and a watch. Then you can truly head out a bit. Main 2 cities are dangerous. Lots of other players. Get what you need from them as quicly as possible...and get out. Unless you like gunfights...in which case...stay there and good luck to you.

No problem. Stick with it...as frustrating as it is. You will learn towns & cities in no time from landmarks. When you have no compass...It also helps to know the clouds always move East. So if your looking at the clouds and they are moving away... your looking East. Will help you get some kind of directional orientation on daytime servers and you have no "in game" map or compass.

Is vysnc turned on in your video options? this can limit the framerate to the refresh rate of the monitor causing low fps...from what ive read.

Are you sure the jerry can is empty? Unless it has a red circle with a line thru it (like a no entry road sign) ...it is already full. -

Look for the petrol storage tank at the gas sation. (NOT the petrol pumps)...its a big cylindrical type tank. Go into your inventory whilst standing near the tank and right mouse on jerry can...say fill jerry can. -

Yes. It shouldn't matter where you get them. As long as you have ArmA2 & OA or CO (combined ops...which is them both) -

If you think he all he did was hack some beans, i think your being a bit naive. Why would you hack to get some basic items like beans/food which can be found anywhere within 5 minutes? Why would you risk your game being banned for this? Seriously? I'm not for one minute saying has has done anything major, just pointing out that it is probably very unlikely someone would cheat just to give themselves something so common.

I'm not referring to what he has done, I'm referring to your comment, and i'm saying respect has to be earned. He forfeited that when he cheated. Now you have shown him how to get round it. So he "could" effectively ALSO go on cheating after he is caught time and time again...could he not?

Yes, i thought this too. But i have read that several people who were banned who also thought this, promptly went out and bought a new version of the game and it didnt work.

I've read that others that have been caught hacking have bought several new copies and it still hasn't worked. Not sure if this is true...it's just what i've read. Can't blame people for 1) having no sympathy 2) being a little abusive towards you. Cheaters are what will ruin this game, and your one of them. Don't mean to sound rude, but you got what you deserved really didn't you!

Nice. Is that a Zed running right at the start when you scope in? It sorta looks like an unarmed player too. Grats for not killing him if it is an unarmed player.
