Experimental Update 1.21 (Change Log)

I guess you are correct as you can indeed just drag your own items on top of the pre-assigned ones to replace them. -
Experimental Update 1.21 (Change Log)
GeordieMarv replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
My thoughts exactly ...pointless feature as the majority of players will just have to remove the items from the hotbar as they are not in the order that they prefer. It's just annoying having to remove them every time. Makes more sense to just leave them blank an let us assign them ourselves. -

I hope now that crossbows are finally being added means we will also see bows soon! -
Experimental Update 1.14 (Changelog)
GeordieMarv replied to Kyiara's topic in PC Experimental Updates
I think this is all servers. I'm in UK and was getting the same, so i switched to EU experi. It's still the same on there, being kicked for "unstable connection". Maybe the servers are crashing a lot due tot he patch (instability)? -
I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem on PC, so i'm not sure if it's a problem that also exists for us PC users or if it's just an issue with my PC or even me somehow. I haven't played the game since 1.10 and i know there has been a plethora of changes to gunshot sounds and how far they travel, so it might well just be the fact that i haven't got accustomed to all these changes yet. No one else has mentioned this on PC version, so entirely possible it is just me.
-
My thoughts exactly. Is there any real confirmation on this? If this is true then it's a game changer in my honest opinion. Duping has affected so many aspects of the gameplay for so long (gunfights, base raiding, survival in general), i really hope this is true, but sadly i fear it won't be.

Is it just me, or are gun shot sounds on PC version now broken? I hear gunshots but it seems impossible to tell what direction they are coming from. They literally seem to be all around me. I hear a gunshot and it appears to be in one direction, then i hear it again a few seconds later and it appears to be the other direction. I seem to be constantly spinning around to try to fathom out where they are coming from. Has anyone else noticed this on PC, or is it just me imagining things? Maybe problem with my audio for some reason, even though all my other games are fine. Also zombies now seem to be able to hit me from several metres away when they are chasing me. Zombie is visibly at least 10ft away from me when i am being chased and using head-look, but it is hitting me even though it technically shouldn't be able to. Edit - Not sure if it's to do with update or lag.

It's great that alcohol tincture is a bit more useful now. It's fantastic that we now have to disinfect rags or risk infection, and i like the "disinfected notification" on the rags now. If we now have 2 different states for rags i.e 1) dirty & 2) Disinfected (with the notification), why on earth has this not been also put onto water bottles? Surely if couldn't have been that much more work to also give us a "purified notification" when we have purified bottled water? Baffling.

Whilst i think this "roadmap" isn't bad, i still find it somewhat disappointing. There are STILL so many things wrong/broken with DayZ, still so many things missing that we really should have had by now considering we are into the 8th year of development since it's release onto steam. Things that i would like to see fixed, added or implemented properly :- The general lag and desync of just about all servers is still atrocious, this should be of paramount importance. It affects everyone in some way shape or form. Zombie pathfinding is still absolutely broken. After 8 years of dev, the zombies and the survival elements of this game should be 100% complete. It is a Zombie Survival game after all, these things really should be nailed down and feature complete by now. It's the equivalent of making a driving racing game and leaving the cars at a completely broken state until the very last minute. Where is the logic in that? Not trying to hate, i just legit don't understand the logic/reasoning. Bows (still absolutely no sign of these). Cars (still nigh on unplayable/unusable due to lag). Helicopters, probably same problems with cars. Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) we are still stuck in a never ending Autumn cycle. I would like to see the Winter hunter clothing etc become at least viable to wear. And it would be nice to be too hot for once rather than too cold. More broken bones (Arms, hands, ribs) Zombies still spawning or getting stuck half in models (house walls, or spawning on house roofs) - This does not put the game in a good light after 8 years of dev. It just looks like you couldn't care less about how people perceive your game. A little polish please? Still many many bugs and QOL fixes that need to be done. Still no consistency or logic in the game (i can open a metal tin of beans with a tire iron/sledge hammer, but i cant smash a pumpkin open) how do things like this even make any sense? Who is making these decisions? Base building is still absolutely pointless, i mean it works and it's functional but that's about it. We still can't even snap walls together. We can spend hours making most of the walls to then find out that a tiny bush will stop us from placing the last wall and make it secure. It is still way too easy for people to raid. There needs to be some balance between the amount of time that people put into making these structures (collecting tools/nails/planks) to the amount of time that it take people to get in. of course bases should not be invulnerable. But it also should not take a couple of people 5 minutes to negate your walls after it's taken you a couple of hours to find everything to build them. Now you plan to do regular wipes? I mean i can understand why if this keeps lag etc down, but it makes a mockery of even trying to keep your character alive or build any kind of substantial base/home. What is the point? I mean i could go on and on (as i'm sure a lot of other forum users here could also do) But i'd like to think you get the point. We all want the game we were promised way back in 2013. For possibly the 9th year of development we really should have a game in a much better state. I look forward to 2021 and whatever updates/fixes/improvements this will bring to the game we all love. This is the reason the majority of us are all still playing your game 8 years later. Your community simply deserves better after the loyalty and faith they have invested into you Bohemia!

Yeah. My thoughts too. People say this is due to lag, but i've literally just had it happen again on a server with 5 people on it. No lag, as you can generally tell when the server is lagging/desyncing due to zombie behaviour (they're either rooted to the spot, or chase you all of 5m and stop). This zombie behaviour could be pathfinding in general though and not all down to lag/desync. I'm just not convinced the barbed-wire and fireplace bugs are entirely down to lag.
-
Thanks for the info. If this is truly related to desync then i fear it will never be fixed, as we all know how terrible the lag/desync in this game is.
-
It would appear that the taking damage from fireplace when moving away from it bug is also still not fixed either! Notice i go from lvl 0 to lvl 5 bleeding in seconds as i move away from the fire before it is even burning properly. I then go from lvl 5 to lvl 7 bleeding as i move even further away. What was even more annoying is that i apparently couldn't bandage myself with either a bandage or a sewing kit??? So i was doomed to die. So as far as 'Continued damage from a fireplace or barbed wire after moving away from it' being fixed is concerned, i appear to have 2 videos that show it's still happening on 1.11 on PC. This is also on a community server and not an official, but i doubt that would make any difference to this still happening?
-
This has been going on for so long, i think most of us were looking forward to this fix. It's pretty evident it's not fixed at all. Extremely disappointing! It's happened only once so far, but to be fair i haven't had barbed-wire attached to my fences for long, so i'm pretty sure it's going to happen again.
-
Sitting in my watchtower/base in DayZ 1.11. Getting level 5 bleeding in a couple of seconds from my barbed-wire attached to the OUTSIDE of the fences. I thought "Continued damage from a fireplace or barbed wire after moving away from it" was fixed in 1.11?? If you don't notice quickly enough that this has happened you bleed out in about a minute. There are enough things that kill you in this game, my base walls SHOULD NOT be one of them. This bug has been in for months and months and i am so sick of dying to it. Please for the love of god, fix this bug!! PS The audio was removed as some of my friends were in a gun fight and were swearing their heads off, and i don't want a forum ban.

Experimental Update 1.11 (Changelog)
GeordieMarv replied to Tom_48_97's topic in PC Experimental Updates
AFAIK this is not the same thing. I am talking about taking damage from the opposite side of the barbed wire, on the opposite (inside) of your own wall with the barbed wire on the outside. I mean it could be related to this, so we will see. Edit - Plus my reply was posted BEFORE they added the latest patch notes talking about the barbedwire. 🙂
