My thoughts exactly. Is there any real confirmation on this? If this is true then it's a game changer in my honest opinion. Duping has affected so many aspects of the gameplay for so long (gunfights, base raiding, survival in general), i really hope this is true, but sadly i fear it won't be.

Whilst i think this "roadmap" isn't bad, i still find it somewhat disappointing. There are STILL so many things wrong/broken with DayZ, still so many things missing that we really should have had by now considering we are into the 8th year of development since it's release onto steam. Things that i would like to see fixed, added or implemented properly :- The general lag and desync of just about all servers is still atrocious, this should be of paramount importance. It affects everyone in some way shape or form. Zombie pathfinding is still absolutely broken. After 8 years of dev, the zombies and the survival elements of this game should be 100% complete. It is a Zombie Survival game after all, these things really should be nailed down and feature complete by now. It's the equivalent of making a driving racing game and leaving the cars at a completely broken state until the very last minute. Where is the logic in that? Not trying to hate, i just legit don't understand the logic/reasoning. Bows (still absolutely no sign of these). Cars (still nigh on unplayable/unusable due to lag). Helicopters, probably same problems with cars. Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) we are still stuck in a never ending Autumn cycle. I would like to see the Winter hunter clothing etc become at least viable to wear. And it would be nice to be too hot for once rather than too cold. More broken bones (Arms, hands, ribs) Zombies still spawning or getting stuck half in models (house walls, or spawning on house roofs) - This does not put the game in a good light after 8 years of dev. It just looks like you couldn't care less about how people perceive your game. A little polish please? Still many many bugs and QOL fixes that need to be done. Still no consistency or logic in the game (i can open a metal tin of beans with a tire iron/sledge hammer, but i cant smash a pumpkin open) how do things like this even make any sense? Who is making these decisions? Base building is still absolutely pointless, i mean it works and it's functional but that's about it. We still can't even snap walls together. We can spend hours making most of the walls to then find out that a tiny bush will stop us from placing the last wall and make it secure. It is still way too easy for people to raid. There needs to be some balance between the amount of time that people put into making these structures (collecting tools/nails/planks) to the amount of time that it take people to get in. of course bases should not be invulnerable. But it also should not take a couple of people 5 minutes to negate your walls after it's taken you a couple of hours to find everything to build them. Now you plan to do regular wipes? I mean i can understand why if this keeps lag etc down, but it makes a mockery of even trying to keep your character alive or build any kind of substantial base/home. What is the point? I mean i could go on and on (as i'm sure a lot of other forum users here could also do) But i'd like to think you get the point. We all want the game we were promised way back in 2013. For possibly the 9th year of development we really should have a game in a much better state. I look forward to 2021 and whatever updates/fixes/improvements this will bring to the game we all love. This is the reason the majority of us are all still playing your game 8 years later. Your community simply deserves better after the loyalty and faith they have invested into you Bohemia!

Is it just me that finds it annoying that your broken leg heals even if you apply no splint? IMHO it's a bit of a get out of jail card. Broken bones should not heal unless you apply a splint, otherwise where is the penalty? All you have to do is wait for 30 mins and you're good to go? Breaking your leg and having no splint should be a life threatening situation, i HATE how it heals if you don't even do anything! Just my opinion though

Actually if anything it was flatter in the second position, but just slightly. I moved the barrels and the crates out of the way on the first few attempts before I made the video, I even dismantled the stone oven too. It made absolutely no difference. As for not knowing about collision, what are you on about? What you don't know is that the very first time I built this in the position it was in, it all built fine. I got raided and the lower walls got destroyed which is why I was trying to rebuild the lower walls. So why would it let me build it in that spot the first time and then not let me rebuild the same walls in exactly the same place after the lower walls were destroyed by a raid? It let me build it just fine originally in that position, so how on earth can it be a collision related problem to do with the terrain?? It wouldn't have let me build it in the first place if this was the case. At first I honestly thought it wouldn't let me rebuild the lower frame as the foundation posts had got damaged, but it wasn't giving me any option to repair, which is why I decided to take it down in case it was some bug with the post being damaged and stopping it from being repaired to be able to be rebuilt. Maybe it's you that doesn't know what you're talking about, have you ever stopped to think that you don't know everything there is to know about DayZ. Not sure why you feel you have to be so patronizing and rude to people.

Is the base building system still bugged? I built a watchtower, put in the posts, it let me build 2 of the walls, but wouldn't let me build one of the lower frames on the third wall even though it would let me build the upper frame?? I tried to find the "sweet spot" to bring up the build option for about 15 minutes, but no luck. So I took the entire watchtower down with a crowbar and wasted resources as you don't get them all back. I moved the watchtower about 2 foot to the left, the ground here was just as flat as it was in the first position! So I built it again, and now it lets me build all the walls and roof, but it just refuses to let me build the stairs! WTF is wrong with this build system! If it's still bugged??? At least let us get all the resources back from taking it down until it works properly 100% of the time. It's just annoying AF to have to keep taking things down never mind then losing resources. You can see in the attached video that it just refuses to give me the build stairs option, even though 20 planks and 99 nails (more than enough) are in the "base 1F" slot of the watchtower. I look all over the watchtower, at floor and even walls/roof etc even though I know it's meant to be the floor you look at. I even take the roof off and try to get the requester to build the stairs, but it just flat out refuses to give me it. What on earth is going on? Has anyone else encountered this, and if so is there any workaround/fix. I am so sick of having to place and dismantle things, only to lose resources and then have to spend time getting more nails or what have you, only for it to not works again and again.

@EzyStriderPS4 They could easily change the box of matches to a book of matches so they could be easily torn like tablets, i guess. As for the sun i know it's not too hard to tell/use and it's not a major thing obvs. I just liked it (in the mod) because you could gauge how much light is left a bit easier and you could also use it to meet up with people "in a hour" etc and it would give time to plan (say for raids). It was just handy imho, but i get that people might disagree or see it as a waste of time...pun fully intended. I knew the city hall clock tells the time too, but i had no idea there was a clock in the cars or some cars. I generally stay away from cars as they were just soo buggy and unreliable...or they used to be. I haven't been in one since version .08 or something, as i am still mentally scarred.

Yes the title could have been named something more specific. How does it seem weird that a pickaxe would give multiple worms? A pickaxe would do a much better job at penetrating deeper and pulling up more earth than a steak knife or kitchen knife would do. You don't see workmen digging up a road with a kitchen knife do you! A somewhat pointless answer...but thanks. I don't want to "stack medication" i just want to be able to give some to a friend or survivor without the risk of them not giving me it back once they have used it or forgetting to give me it back My friends don't drink out of every pond they see, we use wells and water purification, again not sure why you feel the need to be so patronising or sarcasrtc. No one said wrist watches were in DayZ standalone. I said they were in the mod. Maybe you should take time to actually read and understand what people are saying before you decide to get all sanctimonious. Thanks for your "input" though.

Imho it seems weird that a shovel gives the same worm yield as a tiny knife blade. Shovel & Pickaxe should give 2 worms. Knife should give 1 worm. It also seems weird that we can't split matches, painkillers, vitamins, charcoal, tetracycline, or chlorine. These are all pills/tablets etc and are easy separated in real life. I appreciate that you're prob trying to make it harder for people to survive and have to make them go and get these things to introduce gameplay. But we should be able to split these so we can divide them up between friends or give to other surivors we see on the road. We would still have to go and get these things again once they are all used up, and being able to help other survivors is adding gameplay too. If we can use duct tape to fix everything (even clothing and guns which frankly seems bizarre to me) then we should be able to split up a few pills/tablets/matches. Also for the love of god can we PLEASE have wrist watches again! I am so sick of having to guess the time in game or to have to task out to look at an external launcher like DayZSALauncher to see the time in game. The server has to remember the time anyways, so why can't we? It's not as if wrist watches would cease to exist in an apocalypse! Guns, tools all readily available...but not watches nope! Apparently time has ceased to exist! Wrist watches were in the mod 8 years ago. PLEASE make this a feature again.

Can we please have the ability to dismantle player crafted wooden crates. I see them lying about on servers all the time after being emptied/looted. It would be nice to be able to get rid of these instead of having to wait for it to de-spawn if not accessed in the allotted timeframe. It would also help with server load and give us the option to get a few nails for free too. Please give us the ability to do this.
-
Can we please have the ability to pickup dead chickens and put them in our hands or in our inventory?? There has been many times i'm starving to death, killed a chicken and then realise I have no knife. So I have to leave the chicken, and then when i'm some way from the chicken I find a knife and then can't remember where I killed it, and I can't find another. Not to mention the comedy element of beating someone to death with a dead chicken, would be amazing.

GeordieMarv started following Duct tape
-
Is it just me or is duct tape totally OP now? Whilst I appreciate the fact it can repair some things, I feel the game is getting easier when you can use it to repair just about everything. Damaged clothes - No problem duct tape Damaged weapons - No problem duct tape Damaged tools - No problem duct tape Damaged bags - No problem duct tape Damaged shoes - No problem duct tape I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but I just don't think duct tape should be the nigh on "magic wand" you can wave to fix just about anything! It's changes like this that dumb the game down in my honest opinion and more importantly dumb down the whole survival experience/difficulty. The game should be getting harder to survive, not easier. I would much prefer that the weapon cleaning kits or sewing kits just had more of a chance to spawn and there was a tool repair kit or something.

So all 6 of us picked a first person only server (DayZTV) and had all pretty much spawned in either Cherno or Berezino, so we decided to meet up in Elektro. All we had were axes...and that was about it. On getting into Elektro, TheZohan noticed a sniper up on sniper hill. So we decided to regroup and sneak up on him from the rear. All 6 of us, each armed with an axe...went to hunt our prey. Another great clan moment in DayZ, and it was pretty funny if I do say so myself.

ZombieSkelper.com 1PP & 3PP Shared Private Servers, 2 x 50 Slots, Automated Whitelisting
GeordieMarv replied to theirongiant's topic in Servers
This is a good server, I've been playing here a while. The bloke that runs the server is a nice guy, and it's a good server with some good people. They could just do with some people signing up to the whitelist to help boost the community a little bit. -
I run slower than everybody else and zombies
GeordieMarv replied to trev186's topic in Troubleshooting
^^ This If your PC is slow, it will make you run slower compared to friends that have a faster PC. Experienced this a few times with clan members who don't have an uber PC like myself. -
Nice to see posts about dying, without the crying :)
