There really is no reason, besides convention, that we spawn along the coast. There is no good reason to prevent spawns from being set inland instead. In my opinion, the best location would be in the Gorka-Dubrovka area, given its proximity to a good town/medical area (Berezino) and a decent military area (NEAF). At the same time, it is equidistant from Balota, the new Kamenka/Zelenogorsk military installation, and the NWAF, all of which should be "end game" areas, not spawning locations. If these places, as well as Cherno and Elektro, were not as easy to access as simply killing yourself until you get a nice spawn (all of them are except for the NWAF), it would encourage a lot more map movement/spread as well as a different playstyle in these areas. Why allow yourself to be killed in Cherno or Elektro when you know it will take you at least 20+ minutes to run there again? I know that I would play much more conservatively in these towns if I didn't consider them to be somewhere so easy to get to, and I think others would do the same.

This might have been the case in the mod, but people looking to gear up now just go to Balota, which has equivalent loot to the NWAF.

Yeah, this actually is the biggest argument against this idea, which I agree the coastal spawning system fixes. That being said, with a center of Gorka extending west to the fields north of Novy, south to Shakshovka/Guglovo, west to Berzino, and perhaps as north as Krasnotov, this area might be big enough to prevent this.

You can spawn at or very close to the almost all of the most valuable areas of the map, rather than traveling to them. That is why it should be changed.

Im assuming this isn't actually a bug, but getting sick from my first zombie hit gives me roughy 0 motivation not kill myself immediately.

You're lucky you got a choice. I logged in about month ago on my 90 day ish character to find it back on the coast with nothing.

Personally, I prefer private hives because the good ones have better safe-guards against hacking, and they will often roll-back after a hack attack. Servers connected to the main hive rarely have these privileges. Also, there are plenty of good private hives out there that do not spawn you with ridiculous gear. -
I use third person whenever I'm not aiming/firing my weapon. Why? First person in this game severely limits even the reasonable field of view, and make me feel sick after any extended amount of time.

They removed this option a while ago. Funny that they wanted to move to no icons, thus the removal of debug, yet the end result forces people to have icons. -

Not really, just look at how many servers are being hosted at the moment. Number seemed stuck at around 5000 for the longest time, now it has broken 6000 for the first time. Sure, not all servers have people on them, but the game is far from dead. -

Suggestion: Don't make the chance to get infected by a zombie this high, it is already annoying enough at 1/1000... If this is done, antibiotics need to be much more common, because getting sick will happen about as often as breaking a leg now.

1. Remove the ability of zombies to run/hit through walls. 2. Wipe the hive (Chernarus hive), months of duping and hacking have made putting effort into finding gear on public servers pointless. Until this is done, I will remain on private hives where gear is worth more. 3. Distribute loot, especially military loot, more evenly around the map. Areas such as Kamenka and other towns with virtually zero lootable buildings are pretty much pointless, and deer stands will be empty 50% of the time, not because someone else has looted them, but because of this game's loot spawn mechanics. As a backstory, I saw this server advertised on Reddit with screenshots of rows upon rows of choppers at the various airfields. Looked pretty kick-ass, looked it up on DayZCommander, and it is nearly at full capacity with 68 out of 70 slots full. Tons of vehicles and tons of players, sounds like a fun time, and it certainly was. A whole bunch of interesting stuff happened during the hour that I managed to play. I'll tell the story of my last life, since I'm pretty sure that something in it triggered this ban. Anyway, I spawn at Solnichniy, immediately get picked up by someone inside a red car who drives me South. West of Elektro, we encounter a bus, and I switch from being a passenger in the car to being a passenger in the bus. Driving towards Cherno, the bus collides with a different red car (VW), causing it to explode and kill the 2 passengers. The bus stops, I get out, and because of what I can assume to be desync (1400 vehicles + 70 people), I break my legs and lose half my blood since the bus had started moving again. I crawl towards the two dead bodies, and check them to see if they have morphine. The first guy has none, and the second guy is unlootable, which I assume to mean he is still alive, even though he has been unconscious for about a minute. I shoot him in the head with my makarov (part of this server's spawning gear), and he still is not lootable, I empty the magazine into his head, and he remains in the unconscious position. I decide that he probably didn't have morphine anyway, and kill myself by clicking respawn. I spawn in debug with the broken leg icon and the same blood, but without any of my gear. I assume that it will take me to the you are dead screen shortly like it often does with a laggy server (1400 vehicles, 70 people), so I run around for a bit while waiting to die. I run 100m, then get kicked for Script Restriction #8. When I try to log on again, I get the message "Admin Ban (DayZ Anti-Hax 25.11.12 18:26 (Hacking Damage)))", and I am unable to play. If it was any other private hive, I wouldn't be overly sad, there a plenty to play on, but there are two big reasons why I'm taking the time to appeal this. First, I'm accused of hacking, which I do not do, and it pisses me off to be considered a cheater when I did nothing wrong (I understand that this ban was obviously automated, that is why I described thoroughly what lead up to it). Finally, a server with this many vehicles and this many people is a rare thing, I was really looking forward to playing on it, and now it seems that I can't. I posted in both the reddit thread that introduced me to the server, as well as PMed the OP, but I have received no response yet. One of the OP's comments leads me to believe that he is not the admin of the server either. If anyone who reads this knows the admin or plays on the server and might possibly see the admin online, it would be greatly appreciated if you could direct them to this thread so they could unban me. tl;dr- I got unfairly banned from a server for "Admin Ban (DayZ Anti-Hax 25.11.12 18:26 (Hacking Damage)))", most likely due to lag caused by an unusually high player/vehicle count.

Since duping and hacking means the weapon is extremely common, it should be removed for now. I would love to see it back as a rare drop once gear actually means something again.

It depends if we're talking about normal zombies or those crazy zombies that seem to be able to phase through walls. Regarding the first kind, logging out is quite dishonorable, while I have no problems with doing it to the second... -
Unfortunately, this is true. Someone once hacked one into Takistan Life, shot it at cop base, nothing happened.
