I was unarmed on Utes and ran into one of the barracks to find a gun. I was shot by two people camping inside, but only got hit a few times. A third guy comes running over with an AKM and says he will take them out. I enter the barracks next to it and find a gun. I hear shots in the other barracks, and eventually see two death messages. I shoot the only guy remaining in the barracks, thinking that my savior had been killed after running in, but I heard him through direct communication saying what are you doing after I started shooting. I felt really shitty, and he left the server. I found him on another server with side channel and explained everything to him and told him I would give him all my loot and stuff, but he said it was fine.

I haven't used SixLauncher/Updater in months. I suggest using DayZCommander, there is a pinned thread about it in this sub-forum if you'd like to learn more about it. Link to DayZCommander thread.

The bike. Quiet, infinite fuel, fairly fast, maneuverable, self-repairing, and easy to hide, what more could you want in a zombie apocalypse?

I leave it on most of the time. It added to the paranoia when I first started playing, and I've gotten used to it. I will occasionally turn it off so that I can hear movement better, though.

Wow, I didn't expect there to be so many idiots in this thread advocating for this falling death to stay. Honestly, I wouldn't mind harsh fall damage as long as they get rid of the damn insta kill.

This, it is hard to gauge my exact blood count often. Also, humanity was useful since a drop in humanity after shooting at someone would confirm a hit, if not kill.

Enjoyed playing the servers, took a break for a while, and now it says I am not registered anymore. I tried logging into the new forums, but I forgot my password, and password reset requires the user to enter the "server mascot". I assumed it was "Billy Mays", but I guess this isn't the right answer, can someone help me out? Thanks!

Ah, so 50 cals are broken as well? I found a working GPS later, so I guess that is a bug, although it would make sense that some are broken while others are working. I have found an ALICE pack before, but they are definitely more scarce.

Played Namalsk today. First time I have gotten that "original" DayZ paranoia since I first played the game in June. Great map.

Its not Namalsk if you start out with hunting equipment :P

First off, I'd like to say that I think this map is phenomenal. This atmosphere is great, I've been playing DayZ since June, and this is the first time I have felt completely paranoid since I first started playing. Really love the sounds and overall difficulty of the game. I would like to say that without hunting supplies, traveling through the South of the map is extremely hard, perhaps too hard. I hit up Sebjan, Sebjan Mine, Norinsk, the Southern Army Base, Seraja Army Base, Object All, and Brensk Railway Station, without finding a single piece of food, and killing zombies didn't seem to yield any either. I appreciate the challenge, but I would like to see this made a bit easier. Also, I am not sure what the deal is with heatpacks, but they don't seem to be very effective. I used a total of 4 in my travels up and down the mountain of Seraja Army Base, and still got sick. Luckily, I had picked up 2 antibiotics at the hospital when I spawned (it seems I was either lucky or there is an increased spawn rate). Finally, does anyone know what we are supposed to do with broken GPS's? I tried fixing it with scrap metal and glass, but to no avail. I then read this thread and saw that you cannot fix them, so do they really have any purpose (I ended up finding a working GPS about 30 minutes later anyway)? Edit: Also, what is the ER7 RFW?

This is a question that I have been thinking about for a while and would like to ask to those who pay to host their own servers, specifically, public hives. When DayZ standalone comes out, do you intend to keep paying for and running your own server on Arma 2 OA, providing that there is still the option to do so? I'd assume that more private hive owners would continue to run their servers compared to public hive, but I'd like to hear what people have to say about this.

I think a lot of people knew about this already, but I suppose it could be useful to some. If this is done on a server with fast load times, it often won't work however, even though a message will show up saying that "x" was killed.

Now I'd really like to see what UbiquitousBadGuy has to say about this name.

I dont see how a picture of someone with 2 hacked weapons in their pack is proof that it is lootable...
