  1. I can't say I have ever experienced this. Have tried different servers and checked to see if this is the way it is for you all the time or is it just a string of bad luck? Also, not every hit makes you bleed. I have been hit many times and haven't had to bandage. I have also watched quite a few streams and have seen people get hit multiple times without bleeding. I would guess that you just need a bit more experience with the game to get things down. I have gotten to the point where I can crouch run into villages/cities and continue to crouch run 20 or so meters away from zombies and not have an issue.
  2. I look at the roads, buildings and elevation around me. It takes a while but if you spend enough time comparing all that on an out of game map you can eventually figure out where you are at. It also helps if you can figure out your directions without having a compass. I have gotten myself lost a couple of times and after spending a few minutes looking around me and comparing it to a map I figure out how far off track I have gotten.
  3. I have just reached this point for the second time since I started playing DayZ last week. My first time ended with me being attacked by two people flanking me. This time I am heading out and just stopping at residential and farm loot spots keeping my supplies up and looking for a tent. Then it is off to find a spot to put the tent up and start hoarding stuff and hopefully upgrading my weapons. I would like to finally find a toolbox so I can start removing all of the wire that people place everywhere. Biggest word of advice to any new players, make sure to stock up on morphine. Having an abundance of it with you will save you the hassle of having to make a trip back to one of the hospitals or the military hot spots.
  4. I have never been shot as soon as I logged in or started a fresh character. If it is happening as you start a new character, switch to a different server that doesn't contain this type of player. If it happens when you log out alive and then come back, make sure you log out in the middle of the woods or someplace else that isn't at a loot spot. If I ever am looting somewhere and see somebody log in right in front of me, I wouldn't even think twice about shooting them instantly.
  5. the same way it is in every other game. Go to options and turn down the volume. The first thing I do in any game, before I even start playing it, is to turn the volume on the sound completely down.
  6. I don't do it and never will, also don't server hop. What's the point of playing a game if you are just going to cheat?
  7. I chose to buy it simply because I watched a video and it seemed like a game I would like to play. A lot of people won't like the game the way it is now, some will. If after watching some videos/stream they don't like it, then just drop it for now. It is cheap right now so that is a very good reason to get it now.
  8. I don't really see this as wrong unless everybody is doing the whole run in and die until they get a break and get what they need then head north. I have been playing about a week. My first couple of days I was lucky to survive for 20mins. Now that I know what to look for building wise and how zombies move and react, I survive for hours at a time. I'm sure I am a rare case but I can't believe everybody just runs into cherno or elektro and gets killed every few minutes. Most of the constant deaths I see when I am on is just from people killing themselves to get a spawn they want. Outside of that I don't see people constantly dieing.
  9. I've never had the occasion to actually say it but I would say it Day(pause)Zee. Yes, it still kind of sounds like daisy, but the pause gives it a two word feeling.
  10. I haven't been shooting people, except once. After being killed a number of times, for no reason whatsoever, often with nothing but starting equipment, I will probably start shooting people on sight.
