    Experimental 1.7.2.1 test patch

Zeds behaviour is knackered. Many many are stuck and cannot move. i know they have been 'broke' intentionally, but i think that meant just would not despawn. Presently the majority cannot move.. they will attack and aggro if you walk right up to them but as they cant move an inch they just stand there waving their arms...

Don't be a douche bag...it's not becoming. On the way.. :)

next Patch: FIX D/C BEFORE NEW FEATURES

Defiantly looking forward to some resolution to these issues. I believe it has been stated that a solution is being worked upon. I hope it works.. as this is the one area where the game needs a serious overhaul.
  4. i like the new Infected detection range/system in general. You need to be far more cautious & careful, which is a good thing. I enjoy the challenge. I had a trip through Cherno covered most of the city without any agrro.. had to be really careful and it was a blast... shame i got blasted in the face by a survivor just as i was about to leave. :P Bugs aside it gets a big thumbs up from me.

New update messed things up guys.

Yeah I'm only guessing. But everyone has lost them. Personally i don't think ghillie suits fit into the mod. The camo clothing is good but the ghillie was not imo. I hope they have removed it. i have a feeling the change log is far from thorough... of course it could be a unforeseen bug.

New update messed things up guys.

It sounds like ghillie suits have been removed, everyone who had them have lost them. TBH sounds like a good development choice to me. Remember its a mod in alpha development.. things will change, that is the whole point of development.
  7. Ok i'm camped outside Cherno after starting a new life..after a raid on the town and the airfield i have a few decisions to make.. I have a tent and an Alice pack... and have a M9 SD with no ammo & a Makarov PM with ammo as side arm options. For main weapon i have a AKM with 2 clips, a M16A2 with 2 clips and a CZ550 with 2 clips... What would you keep and what would you bump. I have everything else i need for up north except a water bottle, (just couldn't find one).. so i'm off up north again. What weapons would you take and would you bother with the tent? I'm playing alone, generally friendly.. but am very cautious as groups of bandits that are my main threat. I'd love to have a silenced pistol.. but ammo is a concern, i'd also like a scoped weapon too... just not enough room for everything. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  8. I glitched in a tree and died instantly... thanks for the feedback... i'll be using the knowledge in my next life.
  9. Like the idea of increased aggro / visibilty of zeds.. they were soo easy to get around before. Previously the Infected were simply not a threat.

    Emotionally drained after death

Arrrgghh just had an instant death crawling under a tree all kitted up on way to set a tent camp.. gutted. :(

    Emotionally drained after death

I'm not sure how you felt safe spawning in Cherno... But i was killed in the middle of nowhere up north, in a field making room in my gear for a cow i was about to kill... night time, miles from any civilisation, thought i was safe.. at least 3 bandits opened up on me with automatic fire..had the best gear to date. Pretty much everything.. had scouted the field for 5 minutes before entering it and had no made a noise... they must have out searching for crash sites or about to hunt the same cow...since then i have decided to take more risks.. as death can come from anywhere.. might as well embrace it! But yes death can be demoralising..
  12. But i need to move my tent.. its in a temporary location near the coast that is far too vulnerable. Once I've moved north and found a permanent location for it i will be able to store multiple guns.. but i have to move it now.. so with 3 rifles, two pistols, medical supplies and food and water i simply don't have room for everything. Hence my quandary... i simply cant move north with everything useful i have... not a bad situation to be in. :)
  13. Thanks for the advice.. might dump the M16 & Makarov PM.. stash the CZ and tent in backpack and carry the empty M9 SD. Just have the AKM for self defence. That should give me enough room for what I need and allow for me to store gear in a tent up north before I venture into dangerous hotspots.
  14. Cheers, i'm sorted for food and sodas & medical supplies.. i'll get a couple of water bottle once up north.. its the weaponry that has me foxed.. can't take it all and not sure what is best.
  15. In the middle of nowhere, up north hunting cows.. twice now that has happened. All geared up, dead of night.. i get ambushed by groups of bandits. i went to NW airfield once and got snipped and got killed at Stary Sobor after hunting down a bandit sniper but didn't realise he had a mate.
  16. You need to get back into town and get some supplies.. as said above you need food. Cooked meat is by the best.. 800 blood per steak.. matches are the hard thing to find. Cans will help.. but you'll need a lot as they are worth 200 each. One cow as a comparison is 8 steaks at 800 each! Or find a very nice survivor with a blood bag.... good luck with that.. :p

    Seeing yourself on your map?

Not sure about in Dayz.. but in Arma general it depends upon the server setting difficulty level. So in Novice type servers you can see yourself on the map. I only play Veteran in Dayz.., try the lowest difficulty level server to test...
  18. Hello, I have a question... I've been noticing some people die constantly and often. You'll see someone's name come up as being killed maybe a dozen times in 5 minutes.. I suspect this is some kind of exploit, is it? Or are they just clueless? I play on the same server every time.. and if it is an exploit I would happily report the exploiters to the server admins.. Cheers for any info.
  19. Of course its different and it is defiantly an exploit. Obviously not nearly as bad as many common server hopping type exploits, but still an exploit. The game does not give you a spawn location choice.. and by suicide/spawning until you get your desired location you are circumventing that intended game dynamic, that is the definition of an exploit. Simple as that.

    Newcomers

It is really not that difficult. Learn how to lose infected in buildings and hills and everything becomes so much easier. As a new player myself i don't think it is too hard to start. It is hard.. but then it should be, otherwise you wouldn't care about dieing and loosing your loot.
  21. Sigh..sound very much like an exploit to me. I do find it depressing that so many exploit the games mechanics to their advantage and detriment to the concept of the game. Shame really.

    DayZ Stories

I was sneaking through some woods near a dangerous location.. pretty tense, moving very cautiously. Suddenly behind me a chainsaw starts up and scares the bejesus out of me!.. I had my 5.1 headphones on and the window open with blinds down.. the chainsaw was a real one feet from my window! I nearly had a flippin heart attack! Initially i thought it was in game....deep breaths.. relax.. its not real... :p
  23. Ok... I'm a survivor! Been in the wilderness for a few days, have everything essential to survive. Hatchet, matches, hunting knife, water bottles, ghillie suit, binoculars, Glock 17 & AKS-74 Kobra. I found myself quite close to the NW airport.. and am tempted to pay it a visit... but not sure if that is a good idea. I've never been to the airport before.. i know its a very dangerous place. What i'd like to really have is a better rifle, either a M4A1 SD or M16A4 ACOG, compass & bigger backpack. What can i get at the airport i cant get elsewhere? And what strategy should i use (apart from being bloody careful). I wont be doing any exploiting/server hopping type stuff. Thanks for any help for this new survivor.
