Now the game has been 'released', the direction has been set, this is not the survival game I had hoped for. The only thing that will kill you in this game is other players. Food & water is plentiful and easy to obtain. Weapons are everywhere, surviving in the remote areas is so easy there is no challenge. Infected are also no challenge. It's such a shame, the only danger is other players, its just a death-match on a massive beautiful world. Problem is a lot of us have been in Chernarus for years... in fact 10 years. I wish players were just one of many varied threats and then maybe the there would be more to do than playing deathmatch.

Some people here show faith in the team like religious zealots. Just believe, and it will all turn out okay. blackberrygoo is correct, if in saying the team have become the "biggest jokes of the early access gaming community". For a lot of us, what they say has become meaningless, only what they do has meaning now.. and up to now that has been to fail to deliver, consistently. Anyone still visiting these boards holds some hope that something decent will be delivered... we all just want that game we hoped for. I come back every 6 months or so.... its really depressing what changes or more importantly what doesn't!

Over 18 months later... has anything changed? Seemingly not. *Oh wait we are waiting for the patch that will fix the issues and after that progress will be much much quicker* Please be true!

I took a break about 3 years ago. I check every 6 months or so... its so bloody depressing. The only thing i'm surprised at is the glacial pace they have managed to maintain over all these years. Impressive.

I'll reinstall when 0.6 comes out i suppose. People saying be patient and don't you realise they are rewriting millions of lines of code etc..that is the problem, it's the ever lasting set backs that have eroded my faith over the years. There always seems to be an excuse why nothing ever gets done in a timely fashion and the holy grail is always just around the corner. Now it's "when the new renderer is in everything will fall into place".. well I really hope its true, but anyone who is holding their breath is likely gonna turn very purple. I really do hope things work out. I love the Arma engine/sandbox/survival thing, but the game is no better now than it was 2 years ago, sure stuff has been added but to what end. Now we can shoot each other with different weapons, wear different colour hats, wear different length trousers, eat different tins of food, grow veggies which is fairly pointless as there is food everywhere... and we have less infected, numerous major bugs & hackers galore. Sigh. I want to look back at thread in year's time and feel embarrassed.

Not expecting it to be perfect but we are a mile away from where we expected to be 3 years ago. Its just not a survival game, its just a walking loot collecting sim. Its got boring. Any keen gamer these days is well used to playing EA / alpha / beta games. I'm no different. I can't think of a game over the last few years that hasn't gone down this road that I've played. Other EA games show real timely progress, many of them on tiny budgets, Dayz on the other hand, with millions of sales, based on a solid concept mod, from the same base engine has consistently show glacial development pace. Go and look at the reviews on Steam recently, they are ALL brutal.. do you think we are all simply 'not made for EA games'? I'm really not sure what the problem is in BIs studio, but there IS something wrong. There was so much good will and potential after the mod that has just been squandered over the last few years, such a shame.

Thanks for providing a small top up of my faith. I wont be holding my breath... but i won't give up entirely either. Has the team dared give any kind indication of when the game 'might' be finished by. I know, I know.. but after so long it has to be asked. :/

I have a long history of supporting BI.. form Arma1 initial release... I got into the dayz mod, purchased Dayz standalone on release. I have always been positive about its future. I don't play presently, last gave it a try December 2015, I've been waiting for some tangible progress. I've reached my limit of faith in the team. The time in development, the sales and revenue generated.. seriously WTF is going on. Can anyone convince me there is any hope left? I wanna believe, i'm NO hater!!

1st time i've played in months and I spawned out in a house & spawned back under it. I'm totally stuck. Any way to get out? I can't go prone, I've tried running, jumping, crouching, nothing has worked. Any ideas? I know this is not a new issue, I've searched and cant find anything in the forums. I know I shouldn't have logged out in a house, but i forgot. Do i need to suicide?

For a bit. (but i mainly play experimental branch) But the chance of getting cholera is linked to your health... healthy and the chance is very low, very unhealthy (low blood) the chance is very high! Basically drinking from ponds when at full health is fine. Bottles & canteens also have a cholera potential. ideally you should be spraying them with disinfectant before use.

Hey all, I rarely hit military locations... but happened to be close to Zelenogorsk when my server restarted, so i thought i'd check out the military location on the south of town. In the barracks was piss all, a canteen and several gas stoves. The rest of the mil loot building and APCs had decent loot. I then had the exact same experience several hours later at the military base south of Pavlovo. Only gas stoves. Both i hit up both within 5 mins of server restart.. didn't see anyone and the areas appeared unlooted. Just piss all in all 5 barracks i entered. (and yes i look under beds!) Have these barracks been nerfed? Is it new or like this for some time? Or was i just very unlucky? Just curious. Cheers.
