I disagree. With the current loot spawn system the coastal area would be very empty of loot (like it is now anyways, but then even worse) and spreading the population across the map isn't a bad thing. Less new spawn targets for griefers and it would otherwise be very empty more inland. -
I got exactly the same spec as you except I got a HD 7770 and I can say: Yes you can, only not maxed out, your GPU won't like it. However you can play it at 1920x1080 with most graphical effects disabled (like AA etc.) but textures on high and it will run fine (around 40-50 fps in forests and around 30 fps in big cities, which I personally find playable). You can play it at 720p if you want, but oddly enough I didn't had much fps gain with it for some reason, plus I find it rather ugly.

Not realy that long to be honest. Got killed once by another player that was "camping new spawns", a couple of times by getting disconnected from the server and switching to another. It's fine though, because I'm not that attached to gear anyways. I'll find new stuff.

I know it isn't exactly the same but it happened before, like with Kerbal Space Program. Granted that game is way longer in development and open to the public, but personally I didn't feel offended when they put it on sale a couple of times now. DayZ has just been open to the public for... what... a week now? So I highly doubt there will be some sort of discount this holiday sale.

I agree with the please no nametag statement. This is DayZ, and DayZ is though and minimalistic on the UI front. And yeah... I can see it easily abused, like stated in a post by Zogvarn.

That and blur makes me sick (literally, especially motion blur). I can't play games for 10 minutes with blur without the need for aspirin. I don't adjust the gamma and brightness by the way. I like the creepiness of night. -

I keep my hair short and stay out of big cities, that's the advice a friend gave me once. It worked out for me so far, I still havn't found Omid and Christa though. :(

Thank god! I already heard some people play the most atrocious 80's music through global voice a few times just to be annoying. No more of that, that's great, plus I think it makes the server crash (not sure, but coincidently it happened a few times at that exact moment.)

That's strange. I killed 3 zombies with my fists today, just knock em on the nose and keep punching while they're down. So I know for a fact that it is possible. -

It's gonna be busy times o dear horseman of the apocalypse, I hope you (and your fellow colleagues) are ready for it. Ontopic: Posters above me said it already, no use to repeat it. Alpha and stuff, there was a big warning on the Steam storepage about it. -
First let me say I'm very positive overall, so beans for that. One thing that I find a bit annoying is the zombie sounds when there are none around actually. It scared the crap out of me everytime. :o

I did fine leaving the coast without anything. The way I see it, it is riskier not to leave the coast A.S.A.P. because you will likely die if you don't. No risk no glory.

I didn't have much trouble finding loot personally. Yeah when you first spawn maybe but after some exploring at the less obvious places I could find a lot of nice stuff. At the moment I got some nice drink and food reserves, backpack, tin opener, axe etc. to keep me going for a while.

Thanks, I just did what they said in those videos and it improved my FPS aswell.

Not gonna lie. The mod ran... pretty terrible for me. The SA does actually quite well (on normal/high settings). I'm quite pleased knowing they didnt realy focus on optimalization yet. Even Clementine looked happy at one point! B)

Yeah the balance is a bit off atm I feel aswell. In DayZ you character is thirstier then the average pot-head. O well, that is what alphas are for, alot of tweaking and stuff.
