    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

Imagine if they had released it 2 weeks ago? I haven't been able to log :( I've prepared myself to spawn in wilderness as I am wearing camo. Goodbye M4a1 CCO and 1911. Not a biggy. I'm hoping my buddies can pick me up in our ATV... Before I give up all hope, any chance someone could post a link on how to roll back to 1.7.1.5?

    TheMercs Seattle Server.

Could you guys provide an ETA on updating the server to 1.7.2. I know its not in tip top shape right now, so no rush. Just curious.

A few runs to the NWAF and no site of any other clans. Are you guys active?
  8. Me and my little bro snuck up on 2 guys the other night. One went into a small town while his buddy stayed proned on the outskirts. We snuck up on the lone guy outside of town and as I approached, he turned to me. I didn't shoot, neither did he. But he went prone and started shuffling behind a tree and I could see his Lee. As soon as he poked out, I shot him. I have to say, that was my first murder, and I felt pretty bad. I roll with a big crew these days. Today we let a guy go who logged in at a tower in the airfield that we were at. You dont HAVE to kill everyone you see, but when weighing the pros and cons, it makes more sense. A. They probably have useful loot, more than an entire town raid could yield. B. They will likely kill you. I can't count how many times I've been killed. Once, I was sniped at the power station north of elekto on the 3rd floor. I didn't even hear the shot. I have to say though, the group of guys I play with now formed around one of them saving me when I was unconscious, (he dragged my body to safety, bandaged me and showed me where to find weapons), and since then we play every night. When we get our hands on a chopper, we are going to rescue newbs from elekto and cherno. We will test their worth and MAYBE take them to our camp.

    TheMercs Seattle Server.

We are back in action after our entire posse was decimated by haxxor. Got all of our stuff back. A group of us is using your server exclusively and we love it. Can't wait to run into you guys...

Seems a haxxor killed everyone in your server last night, myself and party of 4 others included. Insta-deathed all 30-40 people on your server. At least I think it was yours. Anyone else get murdered by a haxxor last night?

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

Surviving as a newb in easy steps. Step 1. find out where you are. Notice that when you spawn, your location will appear for a brief moment in the bottom right of your screen. Step 2. Find a Hatchet. If you agro and have no weapons, run through buildings, up big hills and into factories and construction sites. Construction sites are particularly useful because they have a lot of hatchets, stairwells and doors that will slow down your brain-dead assailants. They also generally don't have many zombies in them. Step 3. Equip Hatchet by right clicking it in your inventory (default G) and clicking "remove from toolbelt. Don't forget to reload lol. Step 4. Barring any broken legs, you should continue to your nearest hospital, looting safe buildings along the way. Don't worry about a primary weapon, your hatchet is far more valuable then a noisy boom stick. Step 5. At the hospital, find a cardboard box that allows you to "resupply". Open it and take at least 2 blood bags and at least 3 morphine injectors. These are only found at hospitals, so the more you can grab, the better. Step 6. Get the hell out town and start looting small secluded barns, tree stands and other areas. Find a decent primary and now you're back in business. This process means avoiding other players, unless you can get the jump on them with your hatchet. 2 hits from the hatchet usually knocks them out. Simple. No need to complain here on the patch update thread about your broken legs, bleeding and lack of weaponry. It took me about 5 quick lives to figure this system out and its no secret.
  12. I completely disagree. I was knocked out at the docks when I was super newb and had nothing, and was saved by a dude who carried me to safety, bandaged me up and showed me how to play. We have been playing ever since.

    Disconnecting to avoid death

I think it would be fair to have a 30 sec or more of players standing helpless if they force quit, fire their weapons or get shot. The only issue I see is if your game crashes during a fire fight. May be kind of difficult to code and if its buggy, that would cause some major problems. I was in a group of 5 and we were at staroy when one of us was sniped out in the open, and another one was sniped when we hid in the barn behind the military tents. We knew the sniper was in the trees on the hill above the tents and the remaining 3 of us bumrushed the hill. We searched for 10-15 min, every bush, and found nothing. Pretty sure our killer has logged. Very frustrating. Another time, I was newbin' it up in Elektro. Ran into a guy in the grocery store, shot him a few times and he ran into the yellow building across the street. I could see where he logged because the blood animation was floating in the air in one of the rooms. I really wanted that alice bag :(
  14. Never had a debug wilderness problem until today. Happened to me once and my lil bro once. Might have something to do with the issues today. Kinda sux losing all of your stuff, but what are ya gonna do?
  15. Perhaps it is related to the update?
  16. I can't find anywhere in this thread anything about the devs reseting our locations, nor would I expect them to sit there all day doing so. They have better things to do... I'm in the debug plains btw, probably jsut going to restart. Losing a lot of good stuff, but such is Beta, no harm no foul.
  17. at about 5:15pm PST, I spawned in debug land... I should have followed my own advice and waited until tomorrow, but the game is so. god. damned. fun. I guess I either have some running or some hatcheting to do.
  18. I used to try to befriend newbs in Cherno and Electro, and after perusing this forum for an hour or so, I just want to roll down there with my AKM and KILL THEM ALL
  19. I don't want to live on this planet anymore... Its a free mod cock smooch. You paid for Arma 2, not DayZ. Why is this so hard to understand?

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2

Firstly, love the game. Long time gamer and I'm not lying when I say this is one of the most awesome games I've ever played. Its been 2 weeks and I can't stop. About a week back, I had my first death inducing glitch (involved a ladder and a zombie at NEAF) and I was upset. What was more upsetting was listening to my friends go nuts as a jeep pulled up to the airfield and they unloaded on the driver and passengers as I was frantically searching for a hatchet in Cherno, about a 45min run away. But then I got over it, I got new gear and I still love the game and play every night. Since then, I've been killed by zombies, bandits and glitches more times than I'd like to admit, but holy hell is it fun. I can't speak for everyone, but I've gotten countless hours of entertainment from this game and will be there every step of the way until v1.0 comes out and beyond. Good job Rocket, on an amazing concept and on your tireless effort to improve this game despite the babies and trolls who seem to flood these forums. A serious DayZ fan :) PS. Hope you're alright...
