Guns Disappearing from Backpack When Disconnecting
blake_synel replied to frasereight's topic in New Player Discussion
I used to have that problem a lot particularly when I played on a large array of servers. I've found that sticking to one or two primary servers helps this at least on my end, I can't verify if it'd actually make a difference. Otherwise, as other people mentioned keep that preferred gun on hand. -
It was disabled in the latest patch to avoid re spawning to just jump to preferred locations. Maybe a friend can come pick ya up.
-
The gun has limited situational usability with the NV. Good if you like night servers and enjoys some pretty high damage (essentially a one hit kill). Enjoy it none the less!

Such is the reality for a great deal of players. They'd much prefer attack a weaponless survivor than anyone that's even mildly threatening for the enjoyment of a murder. I understand the necessity of it in an anonymous online game, but it can be frustrating. Find friends and team up. It's the best way to avoid this. Good luck! Karma catches up in some way or another.

[Suggestion] Blood Transfusion
blake_synel replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
To be honest, if I had my way all medical actions beyond bandaging would require another player to promote teamwork. Maybe even limit the number of tools you can carry to diversify roles in a group like firestarter, mechanic, hunter. Though suggestions are always great for an early development like this, keep the imagination open. -
Vehicles respawn only after being destroyed, server restart, or bugs really. That is because it is possible to save them by walking up beside them and scrolling to "Save ...". Vehicles are just a matter of luck most of the time. As for their quality, most vehicles need at least an engine, gas, and tire to get moving, but you can get lucky... or find a bicycle.

Killed two people but their bodies disappeared and I have 0 murders?
blake_synel replied to randir14's topic in New Player Discussion
I think the most plausible fix might be a 10 second delay between disconnection and survivor selection to abort. Though I don't know how possible it would be to implement. As an alternative note it would probably be possible to replace an ALT-F4ed player with a stable NPC "husk" for 10 seconds so they don't get any benefit from cheating away. It would resolve pvp as well as pve problems in a few ways, though I'm sure it's bound to provide more bugs too. Good luck to those resolving this lol. -
First, I just was at one about an hour ago so I they do exist still. Second, it's not always going to be there. They are randomly selected and placed based on the areas so finding one is a matter of checking a group of them and getting lucky. Good luck.

It's an evolving condition I think. It has a lot to do with the comfort level of people with other survivors. When I started I looked for people to try and team up. Now if I'm not in a program chatting with you I'm probably going to avoid or shoot depending on threat. Beyond that as much as I focus on the mantra "don't get attached to your gear" as you become more self-sustainable equipment wise you get less interested in risking that by gambling on someone being friendly or not. Finally, considering the fact it is a gamble to trust someone and the game tends to focus on calculated risks... it's rarely worth it. I feel you though and essentially the best advice is just to find a group of trustworthy players to make you a less appetizing target.

Always looking for friendlies. Basic info in signature. Good luck to ya out there regardless.

Enfield and CZ550 -- they weren't looking for friends.

Well I suppose you could be happy in the fact that if you did hit him that many times he should log back in bleeding and close to dead...and unconscious. No loot for the effort, but dead none the less. Cheers. -
Always looking for friendly survivors. I've got vent, ts, mumble, and raidcall if you've got a mic. Steam ID: pope1991

Droves and droves of cowards
blake_synel replied to Hayabusa (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well there's always an upside. They didn't kill you and he's more than likely going to enjoy passing out on his relog. lol -
Be sure to check out the server title as the previous post said. CH off or anything above Regular tend to be more "realistic".

After five days of playing this, I have determined that DayZ is a marathon simulator.
blake_synel replied to wildstars's topic in New Player Discussion
I know it can be a little daunting to run around everywhere and constantly die (reloading is what bothers me out of everything, I could care less about the equipment). I'll just recommend some of the following to increase your enjoyment: =Search up some DayZ maps that can help you find equipment =Know player hot spots and avoid them or be more careful -Find a group to play with. Helps pass the time. Talking to someone instead of looking up the two mile distance you have to run makes it less challenging. Good luck. Have patience. You've played five days and honestly that may seem like a lot of learning, but there's plenty more to do! -

More than willing to help with the set up. I've got some basic equipment including a decent set of tools, an AK-74 and a 1911. Also since I've been camping I've got a basic load of cooked meats available. Just need to know I won't get SOS and I'll leave my comfy camp site lol. STEAM: pope1991 -
Sanctuary in Chernogorsk - A New Hope
blake_synel replied to Aidan The Enforcer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As much I like the idea, I don't particularly see this as being successful. A better option may be to set up a camp near Cherno rather than inside to avoid zombie spawns...it might have been noted, I only read the first 2 pages. Also, a secondary issue I see is distinguishing friends from enemies. With three skins and the general randomness of names being displayed at times it could present opportunities for bandits to farm quick supply. -
