Bottom line: You don't like the shoot on sight mentality. I've said to other people, if you wanna team up with someone then meet people on the forums. People are far too paranoid in-game. No, not everyone shoots on sight but expect that in populated areas. Avoid Cherno. You will be sniped there. I don't get people getting annoyed at being shot on sight when they're in places like Elektro and Cherno. Those aren't paranoid 'I don't trust you' stuff, its people that shoot you for the sake of killing you because they get off on it.

I don't have the equipment to move around at night (except popping a few flares) but I do, strangely, enjoy building a fire in a hidden place. It's kinda freaky, then when you hear the gunshots in the distance, you can't help but wonder....

Hm. They are hotspots. Then again, there are other hotspots. Airfields being one. You could of been on a server with a lot of long time players that have moved North. Perhaps people are slowly learning to avoid Cherno and Elektro and have moved elsewhere. I know I have.

It's incredibly rare you will find someone in game that won't shoot you. You could try (make sure press the @ button until you're on direct commucation) talking to people but if you're armed, the paranoia is too much. You're best off meeting people on the forums and teaming up. Or be a sexy loner. Loners are sexy. They'd get all the girls but they don't cause they're loners and have to masturbate with poison ivy.

OP: I was kind of agreeing with you that the game needs people like you but no. You just grab a gun and run around Cherno killing fresh spawners. It's when I'm running through a forest and hear a gun shot is what sets me on edge. CoD the greatest FPS? I'd damn near blame the game for too many developers jumping on the CoD bandwagon, making quick and easy FPS built around a simplistic multiplayer. Hey, if thats your thing then enjoy, but don't claim it's the best. Your logic of 'the highest selling = the best' tells me that you must love the Wii and must be currently reading 50 Shades of Grey. Am I right?

I think this game is quite scary as death has meaning. Every day you survive and last a bit longer, you worry some sniper may pick you off, and venturing towards a town has you scoping the place out first. But hey, thats me. Want something quite freaky with the sorta atmosphere you want? Try Nightmare House 2, that's a great mod. Or the game Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

I once enountered a bug where I vaulted and fell into the floor and broke my legs. These things happen and are all part of the testing process. Despite what others may cry out in protest ("IT'S APLHA, YOU NOOB!") I assume it's good you posted it so the devs know these sorta things exist and can get rid of them in the future.

You do have to wonder out of all the times someone has shot at you, how many players have saw you, perhaps had you in their sights with a rifle of some sort, but let you go because you currently pose no threat to them? I'm sure you'd be surpised at how many times. I have seen many players running by and I've dropped low and watch them run by. Only difference is there are so many stories on the forums of people being killed, it really makes it seem like thats what everyone does, because hardly anyone posts stories of "I let some guy go".

What can we possibly say that will give this debate anymore meaning? People do it for the thrill. People do it for items. People do once they've mastered the gameplay. People are just giant, moist, quivering cunts. It is a myth though that everyone kills on sight. No. People are smart enough to stay hidden and out the way, others can be helpful. Just look at the stats on the front page. Yes, we've got our stories of some asshole. I once got some stuff in Cherno and was heading North when I ran into another player. We both fought off some zombies for a few minutes. He then said "Wanna team up?" I replied "Sure" I turned round and he shot me in the back of the head. But that's a lesson learnt and reminder of the danger of approaching another player. So really, you get the players that want to play it as a survival game in a zombie apocalypse. Quickly get food and drink and a weapon and survive. Then you get those that just want the best weapons, the best stuff and will do stuff like server hopping until they do. Then they'll hunt other players and proclaim it was either him or you or just masturbates in the self satisfaction of killing an unarmed guy.

So I've broken my leg. I don't want to restart as this is the best I've done and I want to see if I can survive longer. Sadly the morphine I found has dissapeared from my bag so I'm currently crawling wondering where to go. At the moment I'm just west of Gorka near a deer stand. What's the best thing I can do?
