Hm. What's the problem? I mean its simple enough really. Install Combined Operations (or OA), run it once and then get six updater, install DayZ through that and away you go.

Will add you. I'd join up now but I've travelled far up North and have no idea where I am. Need to find a nearby town and get my bearings. Thanks for advice :)

Do you play on a regular server or do you just pick one at random? Working nights I have to play on a US server NY8 otherwise it's always dark in the UK ones.

If it comes to a fully produced game, Kickstarter is definately a option worth looking at. It's worked for so many other projects (Double Fine used Kickstarter) and I even donated money to Ancestors for their European tour and helped bands produce albums through it. So yes, Rocket should look at Kickstarter if he ever wants to make this into a full retail product. I'm sure he'd get plenty of backing given the amount of people the play and enjoy DayZ. -

This is survival. The little bits of information you pick up are more important then any gun, camo and car you find. How to get into a town without being seen, the best place to find equipment, how to evade a sniper, best places for water, best towns to head for, safest places to go, best places to hunt, if a zombie see's me then how do I escape them? If you lose equipment (which you WILL) then you need to turn to these pockets of knowledge you've picked up on.

I think you're wasting your own time. This being alpha, there is every possibility of losing equipment be it after a day or after a week.

I know it sucks losing stuff you've collected but you can't just overlook the fact its Alpha. Yeah, you're gonna lose stuff. Items will dissapear and gear will go missing. It's a huge part of playing alpha. These problems will, eventually, be fixed but for now, you have to expect these things.

Ah, so many times... My goal has been always been to get enough equipment to head north and survive in the woods. So many times I've nearly achieved this only to die stupidly, by a zombie or from trying to grab meds. Perseverance my friend. Perseverance.

I think I saw a user article on N4G about it a few months ago. I then hooked my PC up to my TV and started playing new games then I remembeed DayZ. So I started watching youtube vids then thought "screw it" and bought Arma II on Steam. -

How will people lose zombies when they become fast indoors?

Slower zombies that are harder to kill (headshots only) would be pretty sweet I think. Sure you could dodge them in town quite easily but all it takes is for you to get stuck in a building surrounded by several of them and you're pretty screwed. Especially if you balance it out by making zombies stronger. Just a suggestion though. -

I agree with OP. I really like DayZ and the game industry certainly needs more people like Rocket but the users on this forum can be horrible, horrible people. Yeah, yeah it's the internet, it's full of assholes but some of you people are no worse then MS/Sony/Nintendo/Apple fanboys. No criticism allowed. -

One of the first guns I ever found was a sniper rifle. Found it in a barn was so excited to find a gun but it had no ammo. Since I was still very new, I died :(
