where else can u find range finders and night vision goggles on the map other than the air field? and how often do they spawn? sadly

so far i am not regretting buying arma purely to play and try out day z. its a great game with alot of potential. however there is one major thing that bothers me about the game (all bugs/glitches/server issues aside) and that is the spawn locations/rate of weapons and other items. by heart i am an adventure lover. i LOVE games like this where u can explore a vast area of land and forestry, but there is no reward for doing this which saddens me alot...... ive litterally spent hours exploring a ton of land and areas only to find houses that cannot be entered and towns that have nothing in them except for tin cans and empty bottles. there was completly no reward for me spending hours in the country side when i came up to a single house surrounded by zombies that cannot even be entered nor have loot of any kind around it. the fact that houses cant be entered doesnt actually bother me as much as not having ANYTHING there. the forest areas are also very lifeless with the exception of a accasional boar/rabbit running around. there is no reason to go into the forest except to hide or get better shots on someone without being seen. i find this a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE and utter waste of potential. the land is enormous and vast, so why is it that there are so many garbage areas/towns that have jack shit in them? where is the reward for wandering land/forest when u find a town? why do deer stands and barns have the "best" chance of loot? why cant any and all locations spawn loot? is it because of the BS "realism" aspect of the game? well guess what people, its still a game so please dont sacrifice fun for "realism". its so stupid and i hate when people use that argument when trying to make a game. a game is a game is a game. so TL;DR something needs to be done about loot spawns, especially to prevent loot and weapon farmers/hoarders. so what is the harm of having loot spawn at more locations on the map and more often? honestly there is no purpose for such a large map if ur not going to make use of how big it is. its like wasted talent and potential. reward the adventurers that go out and live off the land for food/items and PUNISH the ppl that constantly respawn over and over just to get a good and popular loot spawn location.

i found one in a barn with a ton of ammo for it nearby during my first night of playing the game. sadly i lost it after i was forced to respawn after getting completly lost on some GIGANTIC hill with no trees or vegetation....... i have no idea how i wondered there, but i did.

this game seems to be geard towards endless playtime. there is no endgame in this game, which means you can play it pretty much endlessly. that is the great thing about this game. sure, u can consider a completly pimped out military geared char "endgame", but when u die u lose it all and u start all over from scratch.

I'm simply stating that I'd rather not play with a bunch of kids, as it total ruins the experience for most games (especially games like this). If this video doesn't bring that crowd in, as some folks here have implied it might, then great. Also, I'm assuming you're referring to the Joe Rogan boards? OP actually has a point. the only time ive ever died was while being in town. towns are meant for a get in, get ur stuff, and gtfo place, but ppl stay there just to kill other ppl that also want to loot.

of course, why the hell not? it means the game will get several times more popular and will be supported even more. it might even be released as its own standalone game in the future.... why would u NOT want the game grow in popularity? basides, theres already carebares/whiners in the game RIGHT NOW and long before yogcast. ppl are still bitching about the no gun on spawn for example. like i said in a pervious post, this game is NOT friendly to noobs. infact this game HATES noobs. so the weak will be weeded out from the strong very easily. the ppl that dont like the no gun on spawn will insta quit. the ppl that hate night will insta quit, the ppl that hate pvp will insta quit, the ppl that dont know where guns are will insta quit. its not a big deal

i just raid the low populated nigh servers now with some flares/chem lights from a daylight server. even tho the bitch black darkness is annoying, there is lots of loot untouched in those servers and flares make it very easy. just have to watch out for the night vision assholes that also camp the towns.

here is why that statement is stupid. if your going for "sense" and "realism" then in an apocalypse such as day food would have all rotted away and spoiled in supermarkets with the exception of canned goods. the food would literally be useless and uneatable. the only thing of use in a supermarket would be flashlights and other non perishable items. even tho some items would be salvageable, EVERYONE in that area would have raided the supermarket clean. so new "travlers" from other cities and what not would go into a empty store. since its the end of the world/ food wont magically respawn in the supermarket like it does in dayz. what "sense" does it make for items to constantly and magically restock itself during a end of the world event? same thing with medical supplies. a nearby hostipital would be raided by nearby civilians never to be restocked again. its a game ppl, stop trying to make "sense" out of a video game. FUN BEFORE REALITY.

this wont happen if loot is more randomized instead of set at specific locations. having items spawn at a specific location will have ppl farming it and set up barbed wires like what the OP described to prevent others from farming it.

GG day z. after hours of trying to find weaponry of any kind and on top of the DDOS atks i give up for the night. maybe tommorow shit will be better and ill find something other than fucking empty cans/bottles....

cherno and electro is always empty for me incluing the church and schools/stores. the best thing i have found in my 4 or 5 hours of playing is a makarov and a shot gun with no ammo... players arent even a problem. most of them that i have seen ignored me and didnt waste ammo on someone with no gear, so i went through all of chherno and elektro without finding a damn thing ON TOP of dying multiple times to zombies purely because of no weapons... they should start u off with a hand gun with at the very least 8 bullets. there is no reason not to. it doesn make the game "harder" it makes it annoying as fuck. ur spending like an hour running from zombies if ur a new player and where as the vets just go straight for the good guns. so basically its get experience, learn where gun spawns are or gtfo. this game really hates new players with a passion. FYI, that is horrible if this game wants to attract and KEEP new players. have it atleast somewhat noob/begginer friendly, especially considering there is no tutorial what so ever in game. i honestly dont see any harm with starting off with a weapon of some kind, even if its just a melee weapon to fend off zombies.
