no it wouldnt if u know how to actually play the game. shooting from a rooftop or shooting from a hill/forest area will not draw attention from any kind of zombie. u are 100% safe except from other players, hence pvp. and if ur sniping from over 1000 km away then chances are the ppl u are shooting at will not hear u at all from that distance. they may hear the bullets hitting a wall if u miss, but they wont hear the actual shot let alone know where it is coming from.

the only reason this game is so heavily pvp based is because there are to many safe zones. there is litterally 0 zombies out in open areas and forest/wooded areas. this allows ppl to camp spots like the famous hill at elektro. zombies are also unable to climb ladders which provides even more safe havens to snipe from like on top of factories/ other tall buildings. make zombies more aggressive, especially when high powered weapons are fired. this will get rid of camping and other bull shit pvp tactics. humans are not the only threat nor should they be the main threat. this is a zombie survival sim so the main threat should always be the zombies. zombies that have taken out entire military bases but cant stand up to a idiot that bunkers down on top of a hospital with a enfield and makarov and snipes every non zombie that enters apartments? hopefully the standalone will fix and buff zombies and make the game actually scary again. right now shooting zombies is a complete waste of ammo since u can lose them by simply running inside a building and going out the back door.

all snipers and thermals need to be taken out of the game for the standalone. this is a fucking survival sim, not a herp derp camp the hill with a thermal scope sniper rifle for the lawlz sim. go play halo/cod/battlefield for that shit.

there are multiple buildings in cherno, especially around the factories, that u can snipe camp from even with a enfield. its nothing new. camping will always exist in a game like dayz.

the thing is, if day z was a realistic scenario, raiding downed nearby militarty bases would be the first thing people do. having high grade weapons like that will not only protect u from infected victims, but also secure your territory AND your collected resources from other people who will no doubt kill u over just a can of beans in a lawless world. i agree that i dont want it to be a pvp deathmatch either, but you have to realize that gigantic cities with bountiful resources WILL be guarded and protected by well equiped organizations like the military. and if the military is all dead then the next best thing is to steal there shit and guard the territory urself. so its not a bad thing to have high grade gear, its only bad if there is a ton of it around.

start reading the thread before u make yourself out to look like a complete asshat. this was clarified a long time ago. correct wording wasnt used and clarification was made, however the point of my post still stands because SOME admins will still ban you regardless of the weapon being legit or not. some will ban u just for picking up an enfield and GPS off of hackers that were on pvp sprees in chern/elek. the guys in this thread may not do this, but its obvious that some admins do and my posts are directed at those admins. not only that but the original thread is about hacked in/spawn/scripted/what ever the hell u want to call it weapons. the point of all of my posts is to say that admins ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BAN U FOR POSSESION of LEGAL HACKED WEAPONS BUT THEY CAN BAN U FOR ILLEGAL WEAPONS REGARDLESS OF IT BEING HACKED IN OR SPAWNING AS A BUG. that is basically my answer summed up to the OP and as a TL;DR for all the idiots. now as for as ILLEGAL weapons go? well its an illegal weapons, so technically it is cheating just for using one. so u can get kicked for using a illegal weapon even if it wasnt hacked in the game and spawned as a bug. the fact that ur using it at all is enough to claim as cheating because it is illegal for a reason. but most hackers arnt stupid enough to spawn illegal shit like tanks and will just spawn in legal weapons/items to make themselves look more legit. Ive already mentioned this shit before so it just feels like im repeating myself to people that cannot read to save there life. like i said before the correct wording wasnt used..... when you say "ban/kicked for hacked weapon/items" then u should realize that it is very vague and go both ways. u could be referring to legal or illegal weapons since both can be "hacked" in. u never verfied which one you were referring to and just used the word "hacked items".

lolz. the thing is why put up with them in the first place? why would u even pay attention to such a retarded post to begin with? there are ppl that give u thanks every day. where are they you ask? they are the faithful players that join ur server everyday because they deem it as the best and deem it as well policed. why do u need a physical thank you? if you really want that then hey, go ask for it. im sure u can make a thread where ppl will say "thanks admins" but i wont be the guy that gives a half assed thanks. my thanks will be in the form of recognizing that ur server is very good and playing on it each day.

read what i said......... you are getting thanks in the form of ppl playing/downloading/upvoting ur mod/game/server. that is thanks in the best form you will ever receive it in. why do u need someone to type out 2 words? that wont make u feel nearly as good as the sheer amount of ppl that appreciate ur work by playing it or playing on it every day.

of course i do, and of course i have experience since dayz is not my first and only game, but like i said you are the one that chose the job and you should not expect a thank you. when you are making a mod/game/anything for the enjoyment of others than the only thanks you will ever need is the amount of people that download ur mod/game or play on ur server. if u get loads of ppl that enjoy playing on your server and keeps on coming back for more than that should be the biggest thank you that u will ever receive. why? because that says u are doing something right and it means u are successful your endeavors. because you keep on talking and assuming as if me or the other guy you are talking to are talking about illegal weapons when we are not? well i cant speak for the other guy actually, but i was talking about legal weapons from the very start where as it was assumed i was talking about illegal weapons.

just because i am not a admin doesnt mean i haven't done my research and dont know what they do. as for everything else in that post you have said, you need to learn to deal with it as it is apart of any administration job you do. think of how much shit rocket or other developers put up with when it comes to making a mod or game for the enjoyment of others. even mods on the minecraft server have to deal with crap like "YOUR TO SLOW UPDATE FASTER" or "YOUR MOD SUCKS DICK". you have to learn to put up with that since you were the one who chose to be a admin for a game community, and any game community u go to will have its fair share of douchbags and hackers. in other words dont expect a thank you because you wont get one. not because of mean spirited ppl, but because players are there to play and are oblivious to what goes on behind closed doors.

a jump scare isnt a scare, its nerves. you just have bad nerves, but its normal amongst all humans unless u have nerves of steal.

if you are banning him and other players for possession of LEGAL items (regardless of where it came from unless he spawned it himself) he will get very far.

no i dont, but i have witnessed both sides as a player and sadly i have seen more of the abusive admins then good ones. ive even seen hackers going to direct war with admin owners and there friends purely because of there abusive nature.

untill a another hacker (a different one or the same one on a new key) spawns even more weapons to players on the server once ur done cleaning. new players will just roll with it since they wont know whats going on and others will take advantage and horde all the legit weapons to tents/camps/vehicles and save for another day. sooo the point of all this is that 1 hacker gave everyone free non legit weapons, or in some cases vehicles.(not to be confused with illegal weapons). those players receive weapons/vehicles in a unlegit manor but everyone in the server is obviously not a hacker. 1 player caused all that damage and u cant really do much of anything to the hundreds of other legit players that got free unlegit but legal weapons. it may be easy to clean up everyone that kept the illegal weapons, but u cant punish the ppl who kept the legal weapons. at that point the game is ruined because everyone has high end gear. does it suck? ya it sure does, but it would be bad taste to punish all of those ppl because it was not there fault where as some server admins just go on a mass ban spree. i am saying this because i have played on servers like that and i have witnessed admins just giving a fuck u ban to whoever. even if u got weapons legit by camping NWAF they will assume u got it by hacking. THIS is the abuse of admin powers i am talking about.

if a hacker really wants to just give away items he will use a script to give everyone on that server high end weapons and gear. and in that case u cant really deal with it. even if u ban him the damage is already done. same can be said for illegal weapons. if a hacker gives everyone on the server illegal weapons like golden AKs then what can u do.
