Well I agree limited amounts of fuel but I kinda think that it has that feel already. All the gas stations are dry.... and common fuel points. Its only the large 10 000 gallon type containers that hold fuel anymore (IE just like in real life you would have empty supermarkets.... but still have lots of food at grocery distribution supply points (food warehouses) -

Was down in Cherno last night. Took an M107, NVGs, L85A2 AWS, DMR. On my way to my normal perch, I decided to take a new building and try and expand my defenses. I charged into town, spotted my ladder and climbed the tallest builing in Cherno. Not 2 minutes after I prone out I spot an enemy. Hes 500 M out North of Cherno running west. A ghillied sniper. I scoped in to find it pitch black and my M107 useless. Swapping to my DMR w NVGs I started cracking rounds off. Suprisingly he didnt DC. Crack crack crack crack crack. slow steady accurate shots Struck, he turned and ran to the closest tree and proned. Fortunately It didnt do anything, I had clear line of sight. Crack crack crack crack. "was killed" shows up. Hes motionless. I scan w my L85 for friends. none. I run down and get to his body. SVD Camo NVGs GPS M107 I loot quick and rush off NW to the forrest. along my way I see a player. A massive AS50 sticks up off his back. Facing away from me I capitalize and fire off rapid DMR shots and drop him. AS50 2 Satchel Charges NVGs GPS All in all 2 awesome kills. too funny though.... that of the only 3 people on the server I find 2 of them and drop them.

Spawning on the coast is a bug. Its caused indirectly by a new feature that is trying to protect us from server hoppers and ghosters. The game from what I can tell, now makes you wait after logging out before logging back in (in the form of a long time to load on). MOST players are thinking that they have hung on load and just cntrl+alt+dlt. When you cntrl+alt+dlt and the game is loading your character position, you corrupt the data. Back when ppl used to put up a shit ton of traps (razor wire and hedgehogs), if you spawned ontop of one your data was corrupted and you ended up in 'The Debug Plains/Forest" To fix this, IF a players character data (position) is corrupted the game just spawns you on the coast. -
Lets remove even more control from the server admins!

Why dont you consider this a gift that you cant be banning people illegally? Your lucky you havent ended up blacklisted. Rocket said himself the ONLY reason @ ALL to ban ANYONE is racism basically. unless you can PROVE a player is hacking (which is pretty damn hard), then you CANNOT Ban. DUPING is not a banable offense.... -

To clarify. If you were to obtain your gear on a non hive server, you would need to repeatedly play on that server (as the character data is stored on that server basically) to play that 'life'. If you accidentally joined a non hive server, all you would have to do is leave that server and join a hive server and you would have your old character in its old position. Now onto 95883 and 1.7.2.5 **THIS WILL SPAWN YOU ON COAST WITH ALL YOUR CURRENT GEAR** There is a new mechanic to protect us from dis connectors and server hoppers; When you disconnect and try to join another server immediately, it detects this as you server hopping to come up behind a player and forces you to wait to load like 5-10 minutes. Most people are seeing this as a 'hang on load' issue and cntrl+alt+dlt this corrupts your characters position data and the patch they put in to fix debug forest was when a players data becomes corrupted your spawned on coast. What you need to do is log out and wait like 5 minutes before trying to log in again. It sucks but its better than risking your gear next to cherno (w m107 and l85?) phew lol -
why has no one called this guy out for attempting to dupe yet? This is OLD SCHOOL duping...... Copy Character data to desktop. Open game. Drop all gear on ground / tent / give to friend. Close game and paste old character data over newly saved empty character.\ ^ That question was a retarded duper...... (IF he was being honest all he would have to do is install on laptop, then compare data file differences and copy paste over)

I dont want to start a big EPEEN flame war but Non Hive right now makes ALOT of sense. It stops server hoppers from changing servers to come up from behind you or change to unknown angles, admins can ban for duping, retrive lost gear, AND ban hackers instantly Rocket himself came out to say that private hive servers are a decent temporary solution to the hacking problem. I tried one today and..... the gear is a little rarer and my gear is better protected. I like it -

Yes if a moderator/admin goes through his server logs he can see where 'Script Kiddies' have used scripts to create items, weapons, vehicles, etc. MOST of the time. Scripting is the retard version of hacking. They dont build their own hacks they use easily made easily detected hacks. 'Hackers' are more intelligent and use thier own knowledge to manipulate the game and is VERY difficult to detect. HOWEVER you missed something I said. If you pick up a hacked weapon/item/vehicle you WILL NOT BE BANNED. Because the way the loot system works and you could pick it up without realizing it is hacked in. (I actually picked up a G36 Mag when I was new). Yes they can tell the contents of your inventory? (I was called out on mag) or just when you looted it? idk which but they can see. And yes when a player scripts in gear they can see who did it. Only problem right now is you need absolute proof to ban and its very difficult to get (IE on servers w no tags) Again this is how hackers work. 1 hacking. The rest just surfing of his hacks. Could you please clarify? There is a server side BEC and a client side BEC. However (I suspect due to BIS very generous use of their servers, time, bandwidth, and all Rocket and his mod) this game is not allowed to affect BIS's clients or game. Now I bet what happened is some douche bag server moderators decided to start banning people w their EPEEN BANHAMMERS (legitimately for hackers and illegitimately for players who Merc'd them and their gear). I suspect this caused a massive uproar to BIS from players who recieved a global ban who bitched and whined they didnt do anything wrong and BIS came back and said NO MORE BANNING. So Rocket was stuck in the difficult position of trying to appease us and keep his project alive. They did take RCon tools away but they remained adamant that if you could provide proof they would ban for you. THIS WILL GO AWAY. When DayZ goes stand alone we will get back server side control. -
Unfortunately the dev team does not replace lost gear. period. Its not that they would not like to, they just don't have the time. Its been said here and there but this game is incredibly un organized because of its viral take off into stardom. It has left the Dev team over stretched and under resourced. Like Rocket said, people want instant answers and gratification and dont realize how under-resourced they are right now. This game is still in Alpha. They still have features to add and fix. The biggest problem lies in the fact that people dont read the forumns and think they are playing a finished game. (game-breaking is a funny sentence to those that understand this). We have the PRIVILEGE of testing and playing this game while its in Alpha prior to release. The Dev teams stance is: PLAY OR NOT ITS UP TO YOU. DONT GET ATTACHED TO HIGH LEVEL GEAR. AND DONT COMPLAIN IF THE GAME IS HICCUPPY. ITS ALPHA IT HAPPENS. Now the flip side is they are INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for the bugs we report and the help we give them. This public Alpha testing has provided INSANE amounts of invaluable data and helps quickly fix the game up for release ***I paraphrased Rocket and the Dev teams feelings from what ive read. It is not a direct quote, and if they have problem with how ive summarized it, id be happy to remove it*** @ A_ruttle Not all directed at you dude, There are SO MANY POSTS that i figured id put it all in for anyone else who read your post having the same issue TIPS * Tents can hold 50 items w some limits 10 tools or guns (any combination doesn't matter but once that limit is reach stuff starts disappearing) 5 Back packs 50 random other items (It does not matter how big an item is. ALL items in tents are 1 slot)

This is how hacking works in Day Z now. 10 guys get together and pitch 2$ a piece or 5 guys pay 5$ etc. Then 1 guy installs the game and uses the hacks spawning in as many weapons and vehicles as they want and the rest simply pick it up and use it because that isn't a banable offense. IE hacking has no consequences because of the corporate interests (BIS) that employ the anti cheat engine. They would rather sell another copy of the game here n there then hardware ban ppl (block the computers hardware configuration from playing again) -
This is starting to get old and on some servers its being used to cheat and create `loop hole - private servers` The issue in question is how low the server moderator should be allowed to set the max ping. From what ive read there is no official limit and have seen a few instances where this limit is set unreasonably low (60ms on one server) to allow the server admin and his buddies to do what they will (all they have to do is rent a server right next to them or one w good 'back-bone' lines (which is why sometimes you get 50ms on servers 1000 miles away) IE, 1. Farm without worry of PVP allowing them to stock pile huge amounts of advanced military gear (which isnt hard on public servers..............) 2. Stock as many vehicles as they would like and easily repair and refuel them making deaths negligible 3. Creates a situation where the value of their gear is low allowing them to take bigger risks than standard players (IE, by having tons of gear at camps that are say.... close to shore.... a person from a said private server / group could gear up, jump to another server and PVP taking excessive risks. Not caring if they die and when they do. They go back to their private server and jump in a vehicle on coast. drive up and re gear. drive back down and switch servers) THIS IS BAD FOR ALL LEGIT PLAYERS AND IS BASICALLY A SUBTLE GAME BREAKER. It is as bad or worse than cheating as its difficult to pinpoint and regulate WE NEED AN OFFICIAL WORD ON HOW LOW MAX PING SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BE SET IMHO 200ms is good. I would leave this open to the general player base as a poll though........... TY

Are you so new you dont know how to adjust for 1/10th of a seconds of lag? Pathetic... or full of shit like I said and some one else too. You can join any server you want, at whatever ping you want. The lower the better sure. But me being at 140-175 ping IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR YOU at 200 ms you might start to notice problems THAT is what the limit should be..... AGAIN THE ISSUE IS NOT OUR PINGS ITS KEEPING THE GAME LEGIT FFS -
Just a thought. Everyone is complaining about sniper rifles. I understand. If you cant use one. they are VERY OP against you. Unfortunately this game is incredibly realistic and IRL there would be people who survived with prior marksmanship experience. That being said one of the things we could do to make them more difficult to use is force players to zero thier own scopes (effectively reducing the range of the weapons in an unskilled persons hands and reducing the number of snipers) That being said.... this wont affect me

Im sorry but I do not know what ACE or ACE 2 is but if it does as you say and takes into account the other ballistic factors (temperature, humidity, elevation (IE air density), wind, spin drift) I would be all for that I.... learned how to snipe before Day Z, before ArmA2. I can run calculations for 2300M w .50. IRL I can only hit 900m. (need more experience w wind) Like i said I routinely take shots over 700M and dont give a fuck if I miss 4x. The M107 is a rapid fire Anti Material Rifle. It is not a 'Man-Stopper' like the .338 Lapua Magnum. Ammo is cheap and abundant and killing people is fun as hell. Fire and adjust over 700 knowing that they have to close 400M just to decently engage you..... and if you are 100M up elevation and they Do not know how to compensate for that then they are fucked anyway. Im not bullshiting saying im doing speed calculations (player moving 2M/sec @ X degree = mil hold) then 4"/100M out to range mil dot holds for running. Id rather fire and adjust its faster and people are savy to snipers in this game. IF I have time Ill adjust for slant range (most of the time that is done prior to even seeing the enemy though). My wife watched me hit a guy on full run @ 950M (into the fog) BTW there are 2 ways to snipe in Day Z. (like a bitch who doesnt know shit pre ranging w a map or my way) -

IDK if you know or not.. but your NOT allowed personal or private servers. Thats the point. A FAIR gameplay for everyone. These admins dont realize that Rocket and the Dev team only accept about 25-30% of server hosting requests. They do not NEED you guys and this game has an advantage w a private server SO YOU CANNOT DO IT. Its very simple but some people are using unreasonably low pings to create them Thats perfectly fine for you guys. I filter half the time by day or night then by player count. Im perfectly happy to play w 150MS -250MS of ping.... Its not game breaking ive been playing shooters since '92 and 200MS isnt too hard to cope w. 150ms is negligible and anyone who says they know the difference betwen 50ms and 150ms is a fucking moron YOU can play @ 60ms but I AND anyone else who wants to should be able to play at 150-200 (200 may be voted too high but under 150ms is too low). The reason for this Is it creates a server where only a select few can go on. This is bad for 2 reasons 1. The hive doesnt distinguish between 5 player servers and 50. So that lil low pop server is EATING DAY Z COMMUNITY RESOURCES. 2. This allows these people to basically 'pay' for free gear. they set the parameters so low that it dwindles the server pop. It will rarely reach a medium population at that and allows in off peak times for near isolation to loot and save whatever gear or vehicles they want and do as they please ^2. is game breaking. As they then can PVP without a problem and affect other players game play IF you cannot understand this or argue against it you either short sighted (re read try to understand) or an abuser (fuck you) -

this is fucking brilliant..... I hope to hell it has nothing to do 'fixing' server hopers / disconnectors because that means they did it on purpose and im in the same boat as a few people here. I dont Alt+f4. Never has worked for me only tried it a couple times against pvp'ers when i was a fresh spawn. What i do is join a server (and its not outdated as someone mentioned), and it hangs on loading 25% of the time. (alot more today for some reason) Eventually I Cntrl+Alt+Dlt and when I rejoin Im on the coast........................ Its happened 5x since patch. 2x cost me my gear. -

Yes BioHaze you are absolutely correct............. its just like COD where you respawn constantly not giving a fuck how many times you die as long as you race the other players to 30 kills. As well just like in COD you can hide behind objects and miraculously recover to full health after being shot. And just like in COD you can use short range rapid fire weapons MUCH better than any high powered rifle Do you read your own posts? -

Ok guys 3 solutions to this problem.. This is all but a long gone problem for me 1. Use DayZ Commander. Fuck six launcher. Its a piece of shit and here's why a. It doesn't update correctly (was reverting 1.7.2.5 back to 1.7.2.4 on me.... fucked up 2 hrs of Saturday play time) b. Day Z Commander has filters for game play including (time of day (day or night whatever u chose), third person on off, cross-hairs on off, compatibility on off, Death messages on off, Tracers on off, Nameplates on off, also hide buttons for incompatible and wrong verson). I know its MOSTLY in the game titles on Six Launcher but this allow you to filter them out and not even require reading them all. I filter third person on, tracers off, nameplates off, and hide incompatible versions of day z and arma 2. Then I select Day or night and play. All searched and returned results and playable and only need to be filtered at that point by ping and player count c. Day Z Commander shows what versions the servers are running (not what the server SAYS its running but what one it is). This actually diagnosed my Six Launcher problem as I patched both updates and launched and when i couldnt get in I used Day Z Commander and it showed I was half patched (reverted the 1.7.2.5 back to 1.7.2.4) this left me in no mans land running 95883 and 1.7.2.4 I repatched and used Day Z Commander and havent looked back 2. You can go into the main menu and use the filter their to try and search in game. This has worked for some people and is a very easy work around to get it functioning. It did not work for me however 3. Use an IP finding solution to manually join the server. I was told to use GameTracker.com (no preference to any just use one that works). Go to its search function (servers tab) and search by server name w 5000Mile? radius and you should find it. IF you find it you can go into the main menu (join a server then hit esc and be at main menu) go into multi player and use the "remote" button to enter the IP address and port correctly. If done right you will have 1 server pop up. -

The part I love about this all is it gives these server admins a good day or 2 before people complain, an admin gets involved, things are sorted out and they ALWAYS have an excuse (ping, hackers, pvp, testing, stability, didnt know, etc etc) and it gives them time to mass horde and stockpile loot an vehicles. this admin abuse is getting old -

sry bud gear is a dime a dozen for me. I regualarily make shots @ 700-950M and the 7.62mms do not have stopping power at that range. unfortunately they didnt add the .338 Lapua Mag or .300 win mag etc so I dropped the SVD for an M107 (I can range find fine w Mil Dot) sry bud -

200 ms ping will not make players teleport. if you think so its 1 of 3 things 1. You know nothing about networking (which is fine) 2. You use that limit yourself to create a private server to give yourself an advantage 3. your an idiot you pick
