I have 48K Humanity, and have never had a bandit skin. There is an easy solution to your problem my friend. Play smart. This means no more sprints across the runways :P, crouch run if you have to run at all. I could sit here and give you all the survival tips but I think its better to learn them on your own or come up with your own ways to do things. Just know that you DO NOT have to Kill on sight (KoS), if your learn how to avoid people. Or even how to handle a situation correctly

I get what your saying OP, You are stating that this game, started out as a Zombie Survival simulator, and that you are willing to accept PvP and as a neccessity. But the way the game works now, how it seems that most people just PvP without actually surviving takes away from the rest of the game. My suggestion to you, Go on the Private Hives, some don't allow PvP.

So this has probably been suggested before, but I think you should be able to fill your own blood bags. Takes a bit of blood (how ever much for a blood bag) and that maybe regens over time? Also these should be able to pass your sickness into the blood. But think about it. Your sick, got a nasty infection. You fill some blood bags. Walk up to a guy, knock him out. And give a transfusion suddenly your some HIV spreading monster D: Or you know. it would make being a medic a tad easier to get blood bags. whatever. yeah.

Eh depends on who and why? When I kill a survivor cause he points a gun at me I feel a tang of guilt, or when some bambi tries to betray me I also feel a pang of guilt. But when I kill that bandit on sniper hill, or the guy camping on the airfield in a hangar, i feel great, excitement, stalking the bandits from town to town, waiting till I can get the perfect shot, it feels great.

But of course I did not believe, and yes I am a bandit hunter, I kill people in bandit skins on sight, because you don't "accidently" get a bandit skin. But I digress I was sitting on top of the Elektro Hospital when I hear several gunshots ring out in the night. I quickly get out of my prone position and start to scan the city, when the I see muzzle flare out of the corner of my NVG is the supermarket. Raising my scope I have time see a lone crouched figure sprint from the supermarket behind the Office Building across the street. I pull out of my scope and and watch the building. Finally over global a man types "i see you up there on the hospital i'm friendly" "ok i'm a hero, I medic in my off time otherwise I am a bandit hunter" "oh well your not gonna shoot me are you?" "you a bandit" "yeah but its an accidental skin" He gave me a sob story over how the KOS nature of the game drove him to be bandit, and I called BS. I just saw him murder a man in the Supermarket. He says the other guy shot first. I did not know. So we have a stand off, my blood pumping, me watching the office building when suddenly a flare comes over the building, this burns my NV to white and I don't see him spring out from behind the building. But I quickly dropped to prone using the cover of the walls, and while i wait for my screen to re appear I hear him climbing up the ladder to the roof. Snatching my pistol from my side, a PDW loaded with MP5 ammo, I spray in the direction of the ladder, and a second later I get the confirmation of a kill notice in chat. "wow I was coming up to see if you wanted to trade items" "Lol you are a liar sir" "Well can I have my stuff back?" "sure if you wish to come get it, but if I see you with a weapon i will shoot you site" So I decide to go back to my hunting crouching down and scanning sniper hill, when i see a man sprinting down it with an M107 (i'm using a dmr with NVG's by the way). I quickly type into chat "sniper on the hill drop your gun or I will kill you" as he did not have a bandit skin, he was in a female skin "Oh thats my brother he is coming to watch my stuff" said the bandit from about 10 minutes ago The sniper did not drop his gun, nor put it in the Coyote pack on his back but instead dropped prone behind a tree and sat. I scoped in and zeroed my scope waiting for the right moment, my patience rewarded a few seconds later when he started to wiggle out from behind his tree, One shot to the his leg that I saw first then another to his back dropped the sniper. "OMG WHAT A CAMPING FAGGOT" I proceeded to laugh out loud in the global chat, before sever admin told me to stop. at that time my friend logged in just outside elektro and picked himself up a free M107 with 9 mags some NVG's and an M16 Acog, where afterward we skipped down the street merrily until I decided to come post this story. I just wanted to share this little story and get your thoughts on what people mean by "accidental bandits"

Sir, it was dramatics for the purpose of a story :P Well if i were to ever get a sob story such as this, I would reconsider. 99% of the stories i get are "This one guy one time shot at me and now i'm a bandit cause everybody shots at me" and thats crap. Glitches and hacks on the other hand, I tend to give some wiggle room. IF YOU ARE NOT POINTING A GUN AT ME.

The problem is, 90% of the player base does not have that mindset, I'm willing to bet money on that, Yes its a large percentage i'd say maybe around 50%. Its a mindset thinking that everybody wants you dead :P

Always love a good story to read! So keep it up! But damn shame, but at least, as far as I can tell hackers are on the decline since the community patch's. But I hope to see more! Keep surviving my friend.

Me and few friends of mine used to Role play our group like a military squad stranded on whatever map we were on fighting off the zombies and we had Rolls pretty similar to these, that stopped when one day we were "clearning the LZ of hostiles" a.k.a killing all the zeds in Elektro so I could land the chopper when suddenly we attracted the attention of several bandits. 4 of my 6 friends quit that day. Now I role play as the lone survivor of that incident, on a mission for justice. Hence why I am a bandit hunter. But I was the "sniper" But we called the role "Over Watch". My call sign was Zulu Romeo :P

All I see from OP and most KoS types is a mindset problem, they kill on sight, becuase they got killed and it just creates a circle. Stop Killing on sight, try helping that person. If you approach someone in DayZ and offer them aid almost every time you will get a good reaction. On the off chance that I run into someone without me noticing, I usually open up with "I'm a medic need any help?" (even in a bandit skin i've seen it done many times). And you know what, yeah I've been shot a few times, but I can count that number on my fingers. And I've been playing Dayz for a few months, almost daily. Unless you are killing them for the thrill, you don't have to kill anybody. And the "drop your weapon" does NOT work on most players, cause they believe you are going to kill them anyway. Try something more reasonable. Salute at them, or tell them to salute. Its not hard to lower your weapon and be nice, it's really not. Trust me, I live in Cherno/Elektro helping bambi's all day and killing those that would harm them.

Pfft, ignore this man I've had the same DMR for almost 2 months :P But you probably should learn that Equipment comes and goes and love it whilst you have it, but also be ready for the hunt again, honestly one of my favorite parts of DAYZ is the item hunt, though I've grown attatched to my gun And this guy here, is also wrong, I say go to Elektro and Cherno, Hell I currently live on top of the hospital in Elektro. But know what you are doing, If there is a sniper your first job is take cover, don't drop on the ground in the cities, cause they will have high ground on you. Learn the cities and the good sniping spots. Also keep a smoke grenade or two and some flares on you, Flares and night will attract them AND zombies or Smokes during the day, either at them or where you plan on running. And when dealing with people, Talk to them! And then from there replies gauge them it will take awhile but it will be worth it. I would also suggest finding a home server, knowing people on the server and making friends makes the game a thousand times more fun. But remeber at the end of the day no matter how immersive DayZ is, its a game so do what you have to, to enjoy it! Also good read my friend! May we meet on the friendly Bambi filled shores!

When being a medic myself I often stick to similar rules, But If I have a friend online he will come with me, and act as a guard with the biggest meanest gun he can find, Also when engaging a group of people who need heals, make them come to you, one at a time. Or if strained or pressed you can always shoot im the chest with a dmr, this knocks them out but doesn't kill them, only had to do that once though after I got stalked by a fellow with a hatchet, so i guess I'll share that tale I am playing alone one cold night when over Global chat the cry goes out for "MEDIC" I quickly offer the man my aid and he gives me the coordinates to a shed north of Cherno, (the one by the power station on top of the hill) says he got messed up by a zombie, I walk from Balota to his location, and when i get there, I see a man in a wookie suit laying on the ground with a hatchet. I go up to him and patch him, he says his thanks and I do my usual way of leaving which is pointing my gun at them and telling them to leave. (I know I sound like a dick, but I'm friendly about it! Its how i've stayed alive so long) The man runs into the forest, for what I thought was the last time. About 10 minutes later the sun has dipped into the ocean and the moon is raising over the shores and I hear, a man breathing heavily on Proximity Chat. I have NVG's and quickly spotted him crawling in the grass, "Sir, Stop now or I will kill you" "I'll get you my boy! HEHEHE" and he slinks off (crawls backwards) As I am running through the woods again I hear another set of footsteps behind me, and I turned around, dropped to a knee and shot him in the chest, patched him up, took his hatchet, dropped in the trees and told him stop. He then logged.

But even i you kill one or two people I still do not understand how hard it NOT to shoot people. I've been playing the game since it was first out, and not had to kill more then 10 people in self defense, and if you OFFER over all chat your medic services its not hard to get rid of a bandit skin, i've seen people do it, even helped a few redeem themselves. Though i you get glitched into and told me that, i'd probably believe you as long as you know, didn't throw a flare in my face.

You are correct! I don't drop my gun, I put it in my backpack :P, He had an M107, I classify that as a Player Killing weapon, on a known player killing spot, I am willing to garuntee that he would kill me had he had the chance, he didn't defend himself. AND he was running with somebody who was a Player Killer. See killing people attacking you and getting a bandit skin is one thing, but honestly its not hard to lose it, if you can go longer then a few hours without killing a survivor (and trust me its not THAT HARD) its not an issue it goes away. And no It may be a dick move but if somebody in a survivor skin comes at me I shoot them in the leg with my DMR, Once with my G18 this knocks them out, I go up to them bandage them, give them a blood transfusion, and drop a morphine on there body.

Well are not all survivors in this day an age on DayZ? now we have to survive not only zombies, weather, sickness and ourselves but Bandits as well. And I don't even give most of them the HONOR of being called a bandit, a true bandit (in my opinion) will hunt you for your gear or for sport but to just log on DayZ and kill, because you have the capacity to kill, is not banditry its Player Killing. Also most "True" bandits i've met are not just merely kill on site, a lot of them have a home server and when they notice a regular they start to talk to you. So its more of earning ones trust. But I guess to answer your question, no there are not Bandits and Survivors, there are Bandits, PK'ers, Medics, and Bambi's. Again this is just my opinion.

This has probably been stated, but in all Honesty since Dayz is going for a "live" feel, when I walk into a military base, and head into the arsenal, I would expect to find a military grade weapon. If I go to a base, and find a shit ton of Lee Enfields I'm going to worry, because some one else has the better gun. If I walk into a barn, and I find an M16, or any military grade gun for that matter, i'm going to wonder who the hell owned this farm but count myself lucky. Its a matter of luck. Also since weapon grade has been confirmed as far as I know, (if not BAM suggestion) I would think finding said military weapon in a barn unless recently dropped would be in a worse for wear condition, i.e. rust, jamming or loose sights. If its in a good condition, consider yourself warned. Eh, I just don't see logic in the massive argument over gun spawn rates. The reason the current game has so many is becuase of dupers and hackers which has been largely fixed now we just gotta wait for it to die down. Rocket (and the rest of the dev team) did a great job on weapons spawns and its one of the reason i stick mostly to Vanilla Dayz (except Namalsk) on non-private hives, I like the spawn rates, and I like the spawn locations and I can accept that if I died, I did something wrong, even if it was just being at the wrong city at the wrong time.

Can i wear like a nice business suit, i'm talking tie, jacket all the works, and have a briefcase instead of a backpack. I wanna kill zombies, but look proffesional while doing it. Like I will raid the shit out of a mens warehouse.

So I got a new desktop and decided I was done playing Dayz on my Old laggy laptop. I went to steam downloaded Arma II OA and noticed that the free version was no longer on Steam, I go to the Arma II website and all the mirrors to download the free version are gone. I tried to move it over from my laptop to my current computer and no luck, it get a bad serial key error. Am I going to have to buy Arma II to play Dayz? I will if I have to but I would rather not shell out another twenty bucks just for Arma and getting combined ops doesn't seem worth it either if i already have OA. Has any body else encoutered this problem or know of a fix to is?

So, I've exactly what your NOT supposed to do in DayZ, I got attached to my weapon. My pretty little DMR (Her names Mary Ann). She is the a very, very beautiful weapon. I've gotten 11 Kills (all bandits) and 1 helicopter with her. I've swam to Skalisty, been to every town, all the castles and even teleported out of the map and ran back to it with her. I love my gun. Now that is not to say I have not died with the gun. Ever since I found her in Belota I have died 6 times, and every time I finally make it back to my body, one time from Elektro to NWA, there she sits waiting for me, like my own little green centurion. I've lost all my gear; backpack, NVG's, food, kit, tool belt. All of it. and She is always there for me. And it makes me kind of sad that I know one day, I will be killed, and some bandit will come, take my Mary Ann and use her to kill the very people she has protected until she cast aside, like garbage, for an AS50. So next time you kill a man, a bandit, or a hero, and you take their kit; there gun, their bag, think about what they have been through with all of that, think about the work, the time and the effort into their gear, and treat it with what it deserves.

I would much rather you do that yes :c yes I am aware, but I just can't help it she is ALWAYS there for me, and like my last girlfriend she will leave when I need her most XD

Well i've had the same dmr for over a month now, and I hide every other sniper I find. Hoping to MAYBE lower the number down a bit on my home server

Still a 2 hit Kill and 1 shot Knockout either way... so... stop your whining

See the L85 in of itself is overall a bad gun (personal opinion) But the Thermal makes a GREAT advantage, much like NVG's So I think there should be some form of thermal goggles. But on a gun I thin the L85 was balanced, it really was, but rocket removed it because THEY WERE MORE COMMON THEN M4's. So I think the L85 is good, but I'd rather have TVG's (thermal vision goggles). I have NVG's but I still use my lights, chems and flares because sometimes a good flare is all I need and at night time NVG's tend to get you shot seeing as how supposedly on 2% of people have them. (i think that is a false)

i believe the stand alone is supposed to be client side, which is stupid hard to hack and you can't even script. Think League of Legends I have seen 1 hacker in all my days of LoL since its release.
