Will Dayz standalone come to Mac

I have PC for gaming and macbook pro for work and love both equally. But if more developers start making games for OSX ill buy that Mac desktop in an instant. The thought of having everything in a monitor without a bunch of cables and a case undearneath my table is a reason enough. Until then PC remains for games.

Why don't people leave the coast?

That's map design issue having two largest cities near spawn points. If Cherno and Electro were up north near airfields people would migrate there, bandits would hang out there as well instead of picking off fresh spawns at the coast. Would make more sense that way, travelling up north and gearing up on the way to the "danger zone" with better loot but where more Zeds and people hang out.

    Worst Squad Ever...

So they used ingame voicecomm instead of TS/Skype and OP took advantage of crap game mechanics to run in circles making him nearly impossible to hit and somehow those guys suck?
  5. Dog companions that can smell bandits from a mile away. Or at least a dog that can rip apart any "friendly" asshole that suddenly decides to shoot me in the back.
  6. Maybe I'm wrong but making ammo scarce would solve a lot of KOS mentality. In example, finding an AK with half a magazine instead of 3 full mags etc. This combined with tougher Zeds, that we'll see in the next patch, I believe most players would choose cooperation to increase their odds of survival. That is as soon as everyone realizes that almost nobody has enough ammo to be worth killing for or taking that risk anyway. Bandits will always be bandits, and DayZ wouldn't be as fun without them, but hopefully this would encourage some of them to try and rob others from time to time to preserve ammo. This is all based on my experience because: 1. I always have more than enough ammo and, 2. I was never robbed and forced to run butt naked in the opposite direction since I started playing a year ago This game needs to decide what it is a FPS or survival MMO? Because in the latter scarce ammo should go without saying.

    Why remove the 50?

@Floxer Running for days without taking a dump is also not realistic but that doesn't add nor removes anything from the experience of playing the game, and its the same with every other example in your post. Yes, you can chop 300 logs of one tree but who cares one log is the most you will need in any given moment?

    Don't be afraid

Who slipped in the word 'complicated' into discussion? Theres nothing complicated about adjusting your aim to compensate for the wind. Just move your mouse little further to the side and you've mastered the complicity of the new sniping system. Same as you do for distance by aiming above the head. Or you still struggling with that one? ;)

    Don't be afraid

Its really a matter of opinion. I dont like how easy it is to be sniper now because it requires little skill to master, and not because im afraid of being killed by one. I welcome removal of 50 cals as well as I welcome keeping other sniper rifles in game and new wind mechanics which will affect bullet trajectory from other rifles aswell. It just makes things little harder and more rewarding to score a kill, which is more fun to me.

    No more 50 cals!

    Good riddance!

    Fed up

Who knows maybe you'll carry that m16 for days without finding a single mag for it. Maybe you'll pass on AK Cobra than find two AK mags the next day, who knows.

New patch coming soon to dayz

What your are saying doesn't make Zeds a threat but nuisance which they currently are. They give away my position and keep me on a constant move while looting towns. Well I suppose they could kill me if I'd let them. EDIT I forgot to say I don't disagree with you conclusion, just don't think Zeds pose any kind of threat in their current state.

    Fed up

Not likely if you have a better weapon than mine, and with scarce ammo supplies you can safely assume that I too have a very limited amount of it. Would you risk wasting your single m16 magazine in a fire fight with me just to end up with my double-barrel shotgun with 3 bullets left? Sure you could take my weapon and carry yours until you find more magazines but with low ammo supplies it will take you a while and until then your m16 is only a burden that wastes inventory space. Or you could hide it in a tent and risk someone else finding it. As for Zeds, they indeed need to be smarter. No one wastes ammo on Zeds now because running around a corner or behind a pine tree is enough to lose aggro. It should be harder, ie possibility to get tired after sprinting several hundred meters is both realistic and makes Zeds much of a bigger challenge since most encounters will end up shooting them down to survive. That is if you have enough bullets left.

    Fed up

I agree with substantially reducing the chances of finding a high grade military weapons. Also ammo should be harder to come by and weapons should decay over time. The better the weapon the more care it needs to work properly, which in effect means the faster it decays and needs fixing. Also, Zeds should be more persistant in chasing players and escaping their sight should be harder so that killing them is the best way to survive the encounter. Running with full backpack should exaust you after 500m and slow you down making Zeds to close in on you and force you to fight for you life. Now you will start counting bullets and think before wasting any on other players for no reason. How much ammo will you need to survive aggroing 5-10 zombies in the next town? 1 magazine or maybe 2? Perhaps only half if I team up with another survivor? You know, just to give give you second thoughts before going trigger happy next time.
  15. Oddly for the last couple of years I rarely remember my dreams after I wake up but once, before DayZ was created, I dreamt of being chased by zombies in some strange city that appeared deserted. Buildings looked a lot like in Cherno but no parks or other green areas. All the doors and windows were shut so all I could do was keep running down the streets. I could hear zombies behind me but was too afraid to look behind so I kept running with fear growing to the point where I became aware of the dream but couldn't force my eyes to open and the damn dream went on. I don't know how long it really took to finally open my eyes and stop this horror but it felt like couple of minutes, which is damn long when you're being chased by a horde of enraged zombies. I don't know if this would be lucid dreaming but never had something similar happen to me after.
